Of Sense and Sensibility is a 80,930 word rework and retelling of Jane Austen's classic Sense and Sensibility, with some twists and the addition of supernatural elements..
Eliza and Marion Blackwell find their life changed forever when their father passes away and they are left impoverished by their older brother. The two girls, the sensible, levelheaded Eliza and the passionate and younger Marion struggle as their status in life has drastically dropped, and they are forced to adapt to living in a small cottage after growing up in a grand manor.
As the two sisters begin to explore the new grounds they find themselves in, they also navigate the affairs of the heart. Eliza is drawn towards her Brother-in-Law, the Mr. Edward Ferrars, the heir to the Ferrars family fortune and title, while Marion finds herself with the attention of two of the Fae, the half-fae Colonel Alexander, and the full fae and prince William of Longshadow. They find that matters of love are not easy, as they each test what affection and love truly means, and who the heart is drawn to, even when it appears that fate is against you. As they grow and come into their own, they each learn from the other, to become the blend of Sense and Sensibility.
The author has always wanted to revisit the Colonel Brandon storyline, as in the original he is the afterthought, or the hero who is still there at the end of the novel, the tortoise who wins the race. She wanted to reimagine the story with the fantasy elements she loves in stories and giving Colonel Brandon the chance he deserves. The book is told in third person, with the POV split between Eliza and Marion as they navigate their new life, the ton, and the loves that will be with them until the end of their days.

I know I'm not the only one this happens to but it seems to happen a lot where you have a scheduled phone or video call interview and the first thing they start with is I'm bringing your resume up now.
You should already have that up you knew this call was happening you know what it's about. It's disrespectful, unprofessional and a million other things.
But yet the first thing they ask is what do you know about our company? I've done my homework and research I have all my information pulled up in front of me before the call started so why don't you?
I really want to start the next call where someone does that with What do you know about me then? Or perhaps do we need to reschedule? You seem to be unprepared for the scheduled call.

So my husband and I had twins three months ago, I worked part time up until the week I went into labor (I work as a CNA so full time was way too hard on my body once I got big) and then I had twelve weeks of maternity leave. My husband works as an equipment operator so he only makes around $47k a year and he’s been paying for nearly everything on his own. I’ve only gone back to work “PRN” so I’m just picking up shifts when I’m able to, and these are four to six hour shifts as I can’t do the 12 hour shifts due to lack of childcare. Unfortunately there hasn’t been many hours available to pick up.
I get roughly $250-$350 each paycheck and I pay the utilities (usually around $400) as well as our internet bill ($61). I’m almost debt free and should be completely debt free in the next two months. Once I am completely debt free I plan to help my husband out as much as I can financially, but I also want us each to start saving money.
I’m looking for more PRN work, and hoping to go back to school this summer to further my education for work- but what else can I do to start saving up some money? Is there any method that Dave has mentioned before?

Can someone please just tell me it was crazy to think I could just babywear and work with a newborn. Nope. Baby needs to eat, burp, spit up, poop, have special exercises, and go to appointments constantly and mama needs to pump, Google endlessly things like local pediatric pts for torticollis and tongue tie specialists, and idk, pay attention to the dog, shower or do dishes once a week? On like 4 crappy hours of sleep?
My work is physical, hands on, outside. So yes it's "working from home" but it's not like writing emails, it's sawing dahlia clumps in half in the cold or mixing up giant piles of muddy dirt for starting seeds
Why did I think this was possible? Oh yeah it's because every person I've ever met, including the midwife DURING THE BIRTH and lactation consultants, hears what I do (own and operate a flower farm) and says oh so you'll be able to work with the baby how wonderful!!!
This is not gardening for fun it's every single element of business and growing plants on a farm scale with extremely narrow profit margins and hazardous work environments. WTF wtf wtf my butt is glued to the couch and even on a nice day when I actually want to work despite feeling complete mental breakdown from sleep deprivation, baby's health problems, and keeping track of feeding and pumping and tummy time and appointments etc--- baby refuses simply by virtue of being baby.
Please tell me I'm not a failure and I was just crazy to try to do it all 😭

Okay, so first and foremost I went 3-4 years without a real job during/after Covid due to severe anxiety and panic disorder, having my first panic attack in early 2020. I also deal with bouts of depression. Now fast forward to September 2024, I was discharged from therapy after 8 months and just starting my first real job post anxiety at an Amazon warehouse. I take Zoloft (75mgs) daily for about a year and a half now. My mental health had never been better for the last few months since being discharged and starting this new job. But the last few weeks I’ve been experiencing heart flutters, shortness of breathe (I think) and a tingly in chest & tightness in the throat (feeling the need to clear throat to no avail). I don’t feel anxious or nervous but still experiencing these symptoms. Note that in the past these things would elevate straight into a panic attack. So I know how far I’ve come. Also My girl (24F) and I (24M) found out we’re having a baby about a month and a half ago. I’m not sure if these things I’m feeling are general anxiety symptoms or a medical issue because again it would always be a panic attack, never just anxiety if that makes sense. I’m healthy and workout 4 times a week, use the sauna, stretch and breathing exercises. I tried to get everything down with as little words as possible so bear with me.
