I'm desperate, so I'm coming to the "hive mind" to figure out what to do here. So, I am helping a friend with some podcast interviews. We are both novices with the Rodecaster Pro as well as GarageBand. The interviews we are doing are largely done via Zoom BUT with my phone dialed into Zoom. Why? Because the WiFi where we record isn't terribly reliable and my zoom app has crashed a couple of times so this allows us to keep audio going even if we lose video (we're not recording the video). My phone is connected to the Mixer with a Rode TRRS cable and we generally record a single track into GarageBand instead onto a microSD on the mixer. What we're finding is that the audio quality of the interviewee is not amazing. Sometimes there is a graininess to it and sometimes there is a bit of a "hallow" sound. When I'm editing out bits I don't want, the quality is tolerable, but when i export from GB, convert to MP3 and load to our podcast platform, the published version often seems lower quality. I hypothesize that often it's the interviewee's mic, but I really have no idea. Do you think there is a benefit to recording directly to microSD and then transferring to GB? Would that help quality at all? I've tried playing with the settings on the mixer for the phone as well as the "level" for the device. Is there ANYTHING I can do in GB to clean things up so they're clearer?
I really just want good crisp, clean audio (OUR audio is fine, it's always just the interviewee). What do y'all recommend to this sad soul who is learning on the fly??

Had a dispute with an airline over a cancelled flight. Waited 2.5 years in the Canada transportation agency portal to settle disputes because the airline refused to discuss it.
Case was settled in my favour. Ordering payment of $408 for inconvenience and ticket refund, and $200 for reimbursement for travel expenses. I had to drive my wife 235km last minute to an alternative airport, didn't have receipts for this but the arbiter concluded;
"Considering the above, I find the amount the passenger is claiming for her trip from Lethbridge to Calgary to be reasonable in the circumstances of this case, and that it is more likely than not that she incurred out-of-pocket transportation expenses in the amount of CAD 200. Therefore, I find that WestJet must reimburse her in this amount."
Airline responded saying they don't pay reimbursement expenses without receipts and that I must submit them to receive this money.
1) Do I have to submit a receipt, or are they obligated to pay the arbiter's order?
2) Can I write a receipt now charging my wife for my gas and time, or is that going to get me in more trouble than it solves?

Early February last year, my partner and I travelled to Japan, which was winter season. Midway through our trip, one morning we woke up to the aftermath of what was an overnight snowstorm. Excited, we both ran outside, danced in the snow and posed for photos. One photo my partner asked me to pose for what was me holding a snowball. Naive me, thinking it was a quick 5 second photo opportunity obliged. However, she was taking her time, rotating the phone and telling me to hold still, and after the snow started to attack my hands with frozen temperature spells, I started asking "are you done yet?" and partner responds with evil grins and laughs, before I realised what she was doing, and dropped the pile of snow in defeat, whilst she laughed and pat herself on the back for a prank well done.
Fast forward to last month, December, and we're back in Japan, the same town, and we're both just walking along the streets and admiring the Christmas and New Year's decorations. I'm basking in the views when my partner calls out "Hey! Look! Photo please!" I turn around and there she is, smiling, holding a pile of snow. I pull my phone out, and before I even do anything, my brain flashbacks to that awful minute in February 2024, when my hands were wronged and how this was an amazing opportunity for justice. So, I aim the camera at her, rotate the angle, say "hold still for just a bittttt longer...... a bitttt longerrrr... let me get this angle right! Damn, the brightness of the snow.. let me adjust that!" Partner is looking at me dumbfounded, wondering why I'm taking so long for what she thought was a simple 5 second photo, until she spots the devilish grin on my face, and then the penny dropped.
"Did... did you just seriously wait 10 months to get back at me for that?" Me: grins
For the rest of the afternoon, she was in disbelief at how I still remembered what she did 10 months later and how I got back at her. But my hands got their sweet, cold justice.
