I have just unboxed it tonight to see that there is no smooth plate and realize that I need to purchase one separately and it does not come with it in the box. Do I require a smooth plate to print anything or can I use the hot plate that is already in the printer I will attach images at the end. Also the printer has come with these little packets of lubricant Grease is this meant to be put on the build plate like printer glue? Hey!
I am currently writing a fic. I’ve written 12 chapters of one pov and I will now change the pov for two chapters. This is non negotiable, I think it will be rad.
However, what i need input in is that my original narrator was Puerto Rican (I’ll call him PR) and my new one is Japanese (J) and also part of the yakuza.
The difference is that PR never had much connection to his culture because of his situation with his parents. The few things i did reference was more known or easily explained. So I didn’t have this problem with him.
But with J I am running into a predicament. I would like for his voice to flow as it would. I won’t write Japanese but I want to include honorifics, words etc. but I am trying to figure out if it is too messy. I don’t know if I should drop it, explain it, or keep it in footnotes?
Sometimes it’s easy to explain the things, other times it feels awkward. For example the character drops into Seiza position, but I say he kneels. Then I say he prostrates instead of dogeza. Is this the right calls?
I have this sentence:
“their father, like most oyabun, had kept a section of tatami before the desk. The thick woven straw was a subtle accomodation for those who came to show fealty.”
So, I half-explain tatami but don’t address oyabun. I’m not sure if this is confusing, and if so how best to address it. Oyabun isn’t mentioned again.
J will say ‘aniue-sama’. from my research this term makes the most sense honorific to use. But I guess I could have him refer to his brother as oyabun now, and thus explain it?
Also at one point the brother says ‘you are not leaving otouto.’
Then J reflects: otouto. A word meant shared between brothers. For them it meant chains. Chains, and second place.
I also have one reference that is ‘J wondered if this was what samsara looked like for second sons[…]’
again a quote specific term that is not explained.
Sorry if this is messy. I am uncertain and would love some input on how to proceed. In my original draft the scene was completely different, but after I read a fic that felt really authentic in terms of japanese culture (not that i would know). It inspired me to do more research about Japanese culture and yakuza. So I rewrote it to feel more realistic based on what I found. Now I am afraid it just feels confusing.
What would you like to read? And what do you do?
Also I am not Japanese, obviously, so if any of this info is wrong please tell me.

Fui conferir minha situação no CPNU sobre a avaliação de veracidade de autodeclaração para cotas PPP e aparentemente não me enquadro. Eles deram um dia para recurso portanto já perdi este prazo (erro meu). Não costumo vacilar com prazos mas acho que a lição está aprendida.
A parada é que não passava pela minha cabeça não ser enquadrado. Sempre vivi como um homem pardo/preto com fenótipos fortes que marcam minha ascendência africana. Sou formado em arquitetura graças a iniciativa de cotas, já participei de diversos outros concursos, inclusive concursos voltado exclusivamente para pessoas pretas e pardas e nunca fui negado. Estou meio em choque, não estava necessariamente confiante mas ainda estava concorrendo e queria o sentimento de ter ido até o final. De tantas coisas que poderiam me parar não imaginava que esse seria o motivo.

2025.01.21 12:25 ssnowflakegeneration My friend felt neglected during my hospitalization. AITA for finding this a red flag?
I tried to keep it short but I failed xD
INTRO One year ago I became ill and after 9 months of incredible pain and fatigue (I was unable to watch tv or take a shower, it was pretty bad).i got admitted to the hospital. After 2,5 months of hospitilisation I am back at my mom so she can take care of me till im good enough to live on my own again.
CALL ONE: A friend called me a few days after being fired. First she asked how i was going. Then she wanted to discuss that I didnt text her back during my hospitalization or texted to ask how she was doing. And I was just kinda... shocked? And explained again that i wasnt doing well and even didnt call my family for weeks because i was too tired.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: -She has a hard time with a pain condition as well, usually she is okayish and can do stuff and every month or so it will flare up real bad and it takes a week to recover. I supported her quite often while I was still capable. And she also supported me this year. -She visited me in the hospital and was aware of my condition. -i did invite her to come over one last time but she said she had plans (she was already bothered) -i did forget to reply to a message, but during my hospitalisation when she was visiting i asked her how she was doing and was comforting her, while it drained my little energy.
CALL TWO: I said she could normally say things to me but i just didnt get the timing. It was an extraordinary situation. And it really bothered me and actually flared up my symptoms. She could understand where i was coming from and was happy i spoke up about it. She was acting friendly but didnt fully agree. Then she said something like (dont exactly remember) 'that we both had tough conditions and she should not put it on a scale' and then 'no i should not say this it sounds to self centered'.
MY MIND FILLING IN THE BLANKS: I wonder what she meant. I think that she thinks that her condition is worse than mine?? so I should be the one checking in on HER? I didnt ask so i cant confirm.
But im seriously starting to wonder if a good healthy friend would act like this. What do you think?
