I (33F) am currently living with my partner and two children. My younger brother (30M) recently had a milestone birthday, and my parents decided to throw him a surprise party. Normally, I’d be all for it, but here’s where things get complicated.
A week before the event, my mom casually mentions that they’ve planned the surprise party at my house because it's more spacious and centrally located for everyone else. This was the first I’d heard of it, and they hadn’t asked for my permission beforehand. I was immediately overwhelmed because my partner has been recovering from surgery, and our house is hardly in a state for hosting.
I told my mom that hosting wasn’t possible, and suggested a few alternative venues. She got upset and said everything was already arranged and changing locations last minute would be too complicated. Feeling cornered, I stood my ground and said they needed to relocate the party or scale it down.
The fallout was immediate. My brother, who was accidentally clued in, called me selfish for not accommodating the family on his special day. My parents accused me of ruining what could have been a perfect family gathering. In the end, they hastily rearranged the event at a cousin’s place, but the atmosphere was strained, and several relatives made passive-aggressive comments about my absence.
I feel terrible for missing the party and causing such a commotion but also frustrated that my boundaries were disregarded. AITA for not hosting the party at my house and choosing to skip it altogether?

I am deciding between moving a few states over from where I am now. Basically casting a wide net in these states and seeing where I can get the best offer. I don’t want to apply and pay for licenses in states I won’t use. How understanding are employers in your past experience with hiring before you have the state license in hand? Will they even consider this? I see a lot of applications require the state license prior to hire. I know this is very hospital dependent but just wondering if anyone else had this same experience, and how you negotiated your way to being hired? Or were you given an offer and hiring was based on your ability to obtain the license in a certain period?
If it helps, the states I am considering are: Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, Pennsylvania. I’m going to try to give myself 3-5 month buffer to obtain the license before I move. If anyone has experience with the amount of time it took from application to licensure in these states, that info is welcome as well!

I have a Vida blueberry cookies cart coming on my next delivery. The pharmacy have called to say that the expiry date is mid Feb and offered me a discount or I can choose something different. The likelihood is I will have used it by end of Feb early March anyway. Is there any issues with “expired” vape carts? Or is it just a case of a date has to go on it for regulation purposes and the cart is fine for 3,4,5 months etc after this date?

Hello,
Depuis l'adolescence j'ai des problèmes avec l'anxiété. Hier j'ai (H33) également passé une colo et fibro pour un problème de reflux. Et je me posais des questions avec les injonctions aux exercices de respiration. Aident-ils tant que ça ? J'ai souvent en tête "avec le travail sur ordi, tu as souvent le souffle coupé donc tu es en apnée, il faut faire de grande respiration", ou de manière générale je fais des exos de cohérence cardiaque ou il faut prendre de grande respiration pendant 5 sec puis souffler. Si vous souffrez d'angoisses, vous avez sûrement déjà entendu parler de la respiration. Mais hier, pour l'examen, on m'avait filé du Xanax et sur la table d'opération, avant l'anesthésie, j'analysais ma respiration et ce n'était pas des mouvement amples du ventre. Alors oui c'est par le ventre mais au final le volume que je prenais était ridicule comparé à celui que je prends lors des exercices ou lorsque je me rends compte que ma respiration est bloqué. Pourtant j'étais plutôt détendu grâce au cachet donc mon corps me faisait respirer "en mode détendu".
Du coup je me posais la question de si les exos de respirations, le fait de bien gonfler mon ventre pour respirer quand je m'en rends compte etc, pouvait au final provoquer ces refluxs et paradoxalement me créer du stress ? Ne faudrait-il pas juste "respirer" pour se détendre ? Et là encore, c'est difficile de trouver un bon rythme puisque y penser c'est deja contrôler. Qu'en pensez-vous ?

Hello 😊 So I recently started playing ACNH and im in love 😍😍. I want to create a island with forest vibes. Now I made a villager line-up and I'm pretty unsure if it's a good one. 🤔 My main issue is that I think I have too many female villagers who are classified as "normal". Those are: Maple, Fauna and Molly. And those are also the cutest to me. I'm worried that I will be bored when I talk to them and hear the same dialogue over and over haha 😅. Or do their personalities vary a little? Do you have any recommendations for different villagers who fit the forest vibe? I thought about Poppy but of course she is also a normal type 😩.
