14th December 2024: My boyfriend broke up with me. I was completely dependent on him emotionally and mentally, so attached that it felt like my life hit a pit stop, don't wish to ramble about this anymore but was broken
21st December 2024 - 10th January 2025: I stopped sulking and started hitting nonstop papers and books again. I told myself I would never let my mother down. I constantly had breakdowns in between study sessions, cried all night but still studied in the morning, managed my small side business on Reddit, and acted like a normal daughter for my family.
10th January 2025: I contemplated not attempting the exam, posted online asking for people to knock some sense into me. They did. I cried a bit, freshened up, revised, and went to sleep.
11th January 2025: The paper was extremely lengthy according to me and felt like my attempt was taken from me. I had multiple breakdowns because I saw my ex at the metro station with another girl while returning home.
(Papers continue, days pass.)
16th January 2025: My best friend of 15 years’ mother was admitted to the ICU in the middle of the night. Despite having a paper the next day, I stayed by her side all night. (Don’t call me irrational; I knew what I was doing. She has already lost her father, and she deserves this support.
17th January 2025: With 2 hours of sleep and 4 hours of revision, I showed up for the paper. After writing it, I went home, freshened up, took a nap, revised a bit, and headed back to the hospital to stay overnight. I spent the next 3 nights with her in the hospital.
21st January 2025 (today): the last paper was today. I headed home early to revise (around 2 AM), only to get a call at 4:30 AM that my best friend’s mother had passed away. I rushed, consoled my best friend for hours, and went directly from the cremation to my exam center without revising. I finished the paper, reached home and I have just finished my first meal of the day.
I don’t know if I’ll pass this attempt, but I am proud of myself for being selfless and doing good when it was needed. Some people from my friend circle told me I shouldn’t have done this, but for me, it felt like someone who has lost both parents at 22 and has been my best friend for 15 years needed me more.
Dear January 2025, you were tough and took so much. But I hope February 2025 and the rest of the year will be kinder to those who need it :)

I work at maccas, a relatively standard job for a teenager. most of my shifts, I'm on the intercom taking orders for the drive-through, and its so frustrating. I'm not exaggerating when I say most of customers are just so infuriating to talk to. like, am I the problem??? am I just stupid and impatient?? or do ppl just forget fast food employees aren't robots that you can bark orders at? because I've never been one to get easily set off.
i hate hate hate it when they come into the drive-through and go "Just looking at the menu." seriously?? you had the entire drive here to discuss what you want and you only start thinking about it now?? when your in my drivthrough, running up my times?? and then, when you've finally made up your mind, you obnoxiously yell into the intercom "HELLO??? HELLO???" , and by that point, I started taking the orders of the people in the car the lane over, who have actually made up their mind. and then you come to the window to pay, and Oopsies!! you've forgot to transfer money into your bank account! or your just looking for that last bit of loose change! so now, I have to wait for you to get your shit together AGAIN. all the while, my manager is yelling at me from across the store "GET THESE CARS MOVING!!" what the hell do you think I'm trying to do?? I've been working here for a year and you think I don't know how to do my job?? that I'm just sitting there picking my nose?
and don't get me started about when I have to lay out a little template for them to place their order. like:
"what can I get for you?"
"big mac"
"was that in a meal?"
"yes."
"What size"
"large"
"what drink for that one?"
"coke." YOUR OLD ENOUGH TO DRIVE A WHOLE ASS CAR AND U CANT RUB UR BRAINS CELLS IN THE RIGHT WAY TO SAY "I want a large big mac meal with a coke." DO YOU SEE HOW MUCH LESS TIME IT TAKES TO SAY THAT?? OR ARE U STILL LEARNING TO COUNT??
and then there are the costumers that are just plain rude, acting like I'm a little servant boy "run along now, boy! fetch me my Big Mac!" . they wont even look at you when you ask them if their order is correct at the window, literally all they'll give you is a pathetic hum of acknowledgment, and I know they didn't even look at the screen to confirm their order, no, they only look at it after they've paid. they wait till after they paid to tell me "erm.. that's supposed to be a big mac." so now I have to go an get my manger (a 18 yr old who couldn't care less) and tell them I need a refund, all cuz u couldn't bear to give me the time of day.
one time a had a man yell and cuss me out because I asked him to repeat himself. like fully yell and cuss me out. are you fucking with me?? you, a grown man, chose to sit in your shitty ute and yell at some teenager cuz ur mumbling? loser.
and whatever happened to just taking shit of your burger if you don't like it?? like a get it, sauce r hard to remove, but you can take the pickles off yourself you big baby. like why are u ordering a burger with every modification possible, you big loser baby bitch boy. i can hear the guys making the burgers groan every time I put an order like that throw and I don't even blame them.

2025.01.21 13:30 EnslavedHappiness Anyone know how to fix it when, if your controller turns off you can play on KBM?
Everytime my controller turns off I get the "reconnect controller" pop up and can't play on my keyboard and mouse until I turn it back on again, anyone know how to solve this?
P.s I don't use my keyboard on the PvP mode, infact I've hardly ever played PvP I much prefer the VS A.I mode.

2025.01.21 13:30 JayStev85 Have been prescribed Sertraline but just unsure if I really want to take it
My doctor diagnosed me with moderate depression and after discussing options she proposed Sertraline. I was a bit trigger happy because I'd explained that counselling hadn't worked for me before and just said yes and have only been on it for a couple days but the more I really consider it the more I'm not sure I want to take it.
I haven't really had any bad side effects or anything like that, and even then none of them worry me other than weight gain, but it's more so the fact that I don't see this being a long term thing and I don't feel comfortable with the idea of something affecting my brain in this way.
Additionally, I'm lucky as whatever I've been going through rarely seems to stop me from doing things, just makes me enjoy them less. But I'm wondering, after being so eager to start, if I can go back and say I don't think an SSRI is right for me right now? Or will I seem stupid? I'd done so much research on Sertraline before I got prescribed but only after have I started to really consider the negatives that worry me.

I'm not sure what else to try or do... I bought my son this GPU for Christmas... Computer was fine, and then all of a sudden last weekend, it started doing these hard crashes. The computer crashes so hard it completely freezes, I can't do anything but force a shutdown. No mouse, the screen is completely froze... I can't control alt delete.. I have to force a shutdown, and then it'll boot up like everything is fine. The game that makes it hard crash consistently is Overwatch. He's been playing Valorant, Minecraft and I think Fornite without crashes...
I've tried completely uninstalling everything, and everything Nvidia then reinstalling drivers. I've also tried uninstalling / reinstalling Overwatch. Nvidia control panel settings are everything default except " Prefer Maximum Power"
Any ideas on what to do to fix this issue?
