I want to get a clearer picture/better idea as to what certain domains/realms of the afterlife are specifically meant/reserved for.
I am more than well aware of what Heaven is and what that roughly entails, of course (with St. Paul even going so far as to mention of there being a 'third heaven' in 2 Corinthians 12:2-4]).
I know Purgatory is an 'intermediate state' for the purification of souls of their venial sins before their entry into the Kingdom of Heaven.
I know Sh'eol = Limbo of the Patriarchs/Father's
I am also aware of the Limbo of the Infants, though it remains as a hypothetical til this very day.
What I am not aware of is the distinctions between Gehenna, Tartarus and the 'Outer Darkness' and how they diffedistinguish from each other (and why for that matter, if possible).
Any elucidation in this regard is greatly appreciated and welcome, and I welcome any reading suggestions/resources on the Catholic theology of the afterlife which I can read up on in my own time and leisure.

P.S. I presume that Gehenna is traditionally understood as being the Hell of the Damned; the place of eternal fire where the rich young man burns in while gazing up towards Lazarus being cradled on the bosom of Abraham?

Hello. I was wondering if I could get an opinion on how to help my dog heal from her nose wound. She was out for a walk Friday past and we turned a corner on the sidewalk and ended up face to face with another dog. That dog was reactive and suddenly and without warning latched on to her face. It was a struggle to unlatch the other dog.
Anyway, we took her to the vet and they said it should heal on its own and that stiches wouldn't be necessary. They said she'd have to be put under in order to do it. I'm following up today since the wound has progressed and I'm not sure if the healing is going well. She has a bad puncture and gauge in her nostril and her upper lip is split.
All she's been given is a pain and antiflammatory med which she ran out of. I'll be getting more today. Thankfully she's eating good still and is in decent spirits for her walk, however she is doing a lot of paw licking, which I heard can be a pain response.
I'm just looking for opinions on anything I can do to help her pain and promote the healing of a nose wound with the knowledge anything I put there will be licked off and eaten. Thanks.
