I haven't seen many posts from people with backgrounds in nonprofits, probably because people don't get into this work to maximize their salary. I have a law degree, and while I don't practice, it did help me get my foot in the door multiple times throughout my career, which has been mostly in public policy advocacy and policy implementation. My salary really took off when I moved to a foundation after 12 years of working in nonprofits.
I grew up in a family that was barely scraping by financially, and early in my career I often got feedback that I should go work for a law firm to achieve financial stability and pay my student loans back. I always wanted to do something that would make a positive impact for my community and our world, so I stayed the course. But I am glad that I've been able to reach this place financially too, and I want people who are interested in the nonprofit sector to know that it's possible.
By the way, because I know someone will bring this up, nonprofit is a tax status, not a vow of poverty - these organizations still have to hire and retain talented and skilled people if they want to be effective. But people that do the kind of work I have done in my career in the private sector make much, much more than I have.

The cheap rig I'll be killing or killing with this spring. I have enough expensive rigs and I need a new kayak so no more rods for awhile(I'm sure I'll fold and get a st.croix and a new PFlueger to put on it) but I looove fishing on cheap rigs mostly because I think too many people blame gear when they just fish like butts. So in the spring I will be hitting the invasive pikeminnows with the Shakespeare Reverb and the Mepps Black Fury (amongst other lures but black fury's and thunderbugs just slay the squaws)

In Love's Graveyard--------
A deserted heart seeking love, yet is wrapped in stone.
With laughter like soft breeze rustling through leaves, Hallow Elise Carter dances through days,
Unbeknownst of the traps her minds demons have weaved.
She holds a portrait in mind, a face unknown yet close,
A soft sigh of love, she calls as her own.
A tempest that never pauses, always keeping her mid is in fray
She longs for connection, yet pushes everyone away.
Augustine Richard Louis, her steadfast friend,
Watching her struggles, his heartache won't end.
He skulpts a plan, a lettered embrace,
To give her a chance, and embrace her love.
For two and a half years, their words intertwine,
Each inked confession, their souls align.
Hallow pens with hopes, convinced she has found him,
While Augustine hides his love, fear sealing his fate.
“Meet me in twilight,” she writes with delight,
Unaware who’s the one who keeps her up all night.
With each shared letter, his feelings ignite,
Revealing the truth feels so terribly right.
It’s delicate dance one edge, with only steep ends in sight.
Unveiling the truth could turn once a vibrant friendship ice cold,
Warmth no longer in existence, the surrounding filled with gloom.
He chooses to keep quiet, while melodies of sorrow are sung,
He clings to the moments in the silence of nights.
As time drifts by like a candles glow and gentle warmth,
She yearns to meet her lover within arm’s reach.
She insists on a face-to-face,
He dreads the truth, the heartbreak they’ll face.
He keeps avoiding her, he is bound by fear,
Then one dreadful day, no more lies needed to be told henceforth.
The candles flames go out, silence falls deep,
Her laughter fades, her dreams fall asleep.
With one last breath, Hallow slips into eternal sleep,
Leaving Augustine’s heart hollow, lost in despair.
Like broken glass, his heart shattered into uncountable pieces,
The love he concealed is now lost with her tide.
No more letters to write, no whispers of love to share,
Just echoes of longing, a deep wound to carry forever.
In valleys of grief, he wanders alone,
A soul grieving all day, his heart has turned to stone.
Hallow, unaware of the battles she had to fight,
Found solace in letters, in love she sought.
In between letters, their love found its rhythm,
But now he’s left aching, where did he go wrong?
Now he clings to every word and each line like its keeping him alive,
Haunted by memories of the girl he loved most.
Augustine, will forever carry this pain,
In the echoes of absence, cherishing the love they had.
Tears are shed, he wants to let her go,
Her love still whispers to him.
Though Hallow is gone, her everlasting essence remains,
Her essence lingers, like beams keeping him afloat,
In whispers and dreams, loves warmth never ceases to wean.

I’m undiagnosed and I have an appointment in March of this year maybe earlier if I can convince my mom.
Ever since January or February of last year my symptoms have gotten way worse. I couldn’t stand or sit up without feeling like I was gonna pass out.
I’ve struggled with constant nausea, FREEZING feet, chest pain, and a lot of fatigue. Also when I work out I’m basically dying unless I’m on the ground doing it.
My day is laying on the ground near the heater while I do my schooling that is online. All day. It’s a struggle to get up.
I have diagnosed OCD and generalized anxiety disorder.
So a lot of my symptoms is “just anxiety!”
but im not anxious..?
When I have enough money I’m 100% buying an Apple Watch like someone recommended for me on this subreddit to track my heart rate.
Also do people with POTS struggle with leaving their houses? Like a day of shopping do you just feel like you’re dying? I don’t know if people with POTS can use wheelchairs but after what happened when I left the house last time after shopping I thought I was dying. My whole body was shaking in the car when we were coming home. I felt that I was going to throw up I was sweating and I was uncontrollably shaking. It took a few hours for it all to wear off. I went in 2 stores and I had to sit in the car for 2 other ones due to all of a sudden feeling supper tired. I couldn’t fall asleep though. We spent 2-3 hours in a Sam’s club after I sat in the car. This is when all the shaking started and then nausea and sweats.
Sorry for the random story but idk if it helps my situation or not. The weird thing is this is the only time this has happened. (I haven’t left my house after this due to the anxiety of it happening again though.)
I hope you guys can help give me support.
