I'm gonna keep this realistic based on how a lot of "revivals" typically go
I think it says alot about how there not being 100% on Vol 10 being greenlit, I have a feeling we're gonna get a soft relaunch of the RWBY brand as a whole
But what does that mean?
IMO, We see them "debut" Volumes 1-9 across 12 or so months to gauge just how much interest is in the show long term, cuz ESP w Anime, doesn't do big multi-season orders, and a lot of anime take awhile to get even a S2, same deal with the music. They are already doing new merch based on early RWBY which imo is a sign of this coming
They'll probably drop another manga as a backdoor for the series to finish out if it's not worth the money in their eyes, something that gets past the early stuff, and in theory lets CRWBY FMAB retcon anything they want or need to, have a "definitive edition" if they so choose if the animation side doesn't get to
as for animation, I don't see Vol 10-12 ever being greenlit together, at BEST atm Vol 10 is a thing to let the series end more properly than the Justice Leauge Crossovers, But I also expect production overall to be far slower, and in theory, could also make the quality far higher depending the money VIZ is willing to put into it,
Overall VIZ doesn't NEED RWBY, RWBY needs VIZ, so I don't see them going in guns blazing throwing money around just because they'll wanna read the room to see how profitable RWBY is, but I'd say regardless, on the positive end, I do see RWBY getting an ending in some form, that much is nice to see given Animation isn't the only option here
But overall this gets a better resolution than Young Justice, a show getting cancelled sucks, but that 2nd time HURTS far more

I just completed End of Dragons. I’ve been binging the entire story and clearing all the maps 100% after getting all the expansions on Black Friday. I don’t even know what to say. I’m stunned. This mmo is so special. I’ve never been so invested in a story. The world is stellar. My jaw dropped entering Kaineng City. The combat, the progression and mastery system. This has been an amazing experience. And I just want to say thank you to the team that’s working on this game. It’s a great feeling to play games where you can clearly tell there’s a team that’s passionate about what they’re doing.

2025.01.22 04:56 sailing_bae I hate physics but love building things... do I stick with Mech E?
Basically as the title says. I am a first year mechanical engineering major, but I am taking all sophomore classes (statics, physics w calc II, mechanical systems).
I hate physics. Both physics I and now physics II have been absolute hell for me. I don't understand it (but I know I could if I really tried), and I do not care about it at all. In fact, the same goes for most of my classes in engineering. I know I could learn it, but I don't want to.
I like working with my hands and building things (robotics is awesome), but I hate the math involved in an actual engineering degree. I feel like I do not have passion for anything. I don't know what I want to do, or what I would switch to if I changed my major.
Unfortunately, a gap year or anything of the sorts is out of the question because of scholarship reasons.
Any advice? I am miserable in my academics, and it has led me to slack on work due to no motivation.

I teach in JHS and I don't hate it!
I experienced something in class today that made me reassess the last few years of team teaching. Myself and one of the JTEs I work with used the word "game center", and I was asked if "amusement park" was the word for game center in English. I said "no", and explained that we usually use the word "arcade" to describe such a thing. She right out doubted my answer, just like many other times that she questioned the meanings of a words, or the way I pronounce words.
I always keep a cool head because I know I can sometimes make mistakes, but also, it's what she has always believed to be the truth. There are many types of Englishes and I am not the authority on English. I just know what I know, and it's usually enough.
That said, generally speaking, English teachers in Japan are completely stuck in their own ways. Instead of asking questions and learning from natives, they tend to just accept what they have learnt from books, university, workshops, etc. Unfortunately, because of how English is taught in Japan, the knowledge of people (educators and students alike) have a very linear knowledge of the language. They tend to mislearn words and spellings, and misunderstand certain use cases.
I don't want to sound like I'm dunking on teachers. That isn't the case at all. However, when my pronunciation of simple words and the meaning of them get doubted in front of an entire class of kids, it can feel a little degrading.
I have worked alongside teachers in the past that have made me doubletake the usage of my mother tongue. I've literally gone online to check whether what I have been pronouncing is in fact the correct way because the people I work with have told me that I am wrong.
I don't know whether this is a pride issue, stubbornness, unwillingness to grow and learn, or something else, but it would be nice to get credit for knowing my own language once in a while. The above doesn't apply to all JTEs that I have ever worked with, but out of the... 14 or so that I have, at least 3/4 of them need to chill out and place faith in the token gaijin. lol

 | Flew business class recently from AMD -> SIN -> SEA on Singapore airlines and while the I flight service was fantastic the experience after was absolutely disappointing. First, my baggage was delayed 2 days (even though my wife’s bag somehow made it?). There were gonna FedEx it to me however after the bag arrived they realized FedEx doesn’t pick up the bag on sundays and so it waited another day before I could go pick it up. When I got the bag it was damaged with a crack on the outer shell that renders it unusable. I asked the baggage agent to file a claim and got the information and thought “well sucks that they broke the bag but at least they’ll replace it or pay me back” Silly me, because they first offered $50 for the bag even after I sent them receipts showing the actually charge was close to $200. After much back and forth they came back with and offered $100 as their final offer and stopped responding to my emails. They don’t have any phone number listed on the website and the agents won’t connect me to their supervisor so I’m stuck in a situation where I’ll be stiffed. I even agreed to have them send me a like bag (same brand and style) but they refused saying they won’t replace a brand name bag.
