Hi everyone
Hope you may be able to give us some ideas on what we should do.
My 11yr old son agreed to try ballet out for a term because i wanted him to at least understand what it is and to see if he enjoyed it, because he was having a rough time with other team sports he didn't seem to like working as a team, wouldn't share the ball or work as a team and we tried a few other sports so i decided to make him do just one term of ballet he was very nervous only to be expected from a boy that age going to ballet. Worried about things like if people see him or he doesnt know how to do ballet. So we gave him a few starting points to work on like 1st positions and basic movements.
They were great but vague about the uniform, wear appropriate dance clothing and slippers that could mean anything from a unitard to a pair of shorts, we did see another boy in a different class and he was wearing royal blue tights and white leotard, so we thought that would be ok, and my son was ok with it. So we bought the uniform and tried it out on his second night he was a bit shy taking off his clothes and into his ballet uniform, the girls gave him a quick look over but didn't say anything. After a couple of lessons we had struggles with the tights rolling down, we bought a better pair bloch they kept rolling down as well. We asked the teacher and she said to try a elastic belt to stop it or unitard. That worked a little bit but it just kept rolling down again. And left red marks around his waist after each lesson because they needed to be so tight. We asked the teacher and she suggested for practice just wear the leotard over the tightsor unitard, tights under leotard fixed the problem! And he was ok with that and no one said anything and we think it looks smarter less clothing problems.
Towards the end of Term 1 we sat down and discussed it and he was keen to try another term because he was having fun and enjoying it but wishes there was a boys class or more boys. Then he decided he would push me into doing it as well, i did it when i was young but that was a long time ago they did have an adult anything goes ballet class and i checked it out a couple of men and majority women, but at least there was other men. Having just gone thru the uniform issue the same was said about the adult class just wear appropriate clothing, Some men wore tights or bike shorts and sometimes a leotard under everyone wore something different, So i was not really clear on what to wear, i thought no i should be wearing the same as my son wears if its good enough for him its good enough for me and both boys? I did wear the dance belt that helped a little, and tried the tights elastic and found the same issue of it rolling down and tight, is there some secret we are missing on keeping your tights up and secure and not rolling down or slowly going down when your making alot of bending movements so frustrating i dont know how men do it. Ive seen braces to hold up tights i dont like the look of them seems tacky way to fix the problem. Body type and size also helps i think. I bought the men's leotard with the full bottom part not tight and thin. I tried a unitard out, i wasn't keen on the look, it was very practical perfectly fitting clothing that you didn't have to worry about anything but its not a look i wanted. So i ended up with the same leotard over tights as like my son and i found it great just comfortable and nothing to worry about.
Sorry for the back story now to the Questions:...
We are still unsure about slipper colours, So with royal blue tights and white leotard do you wear white slippers or black or skin colour? All the women wear pink or skin colour so we are not sure, the teacher said just wear what you like. Not helpful. Black seems near to the tights colour and white stands out alot. We see alot of the males in photos and around classes wearing white. And trying to get perfect slippers seem to be very tricky I've got two pairs now and I've only been dancing for 2 terms. Black does hide them getting dirty it seems but white seems to look more clean and brighter. Can we even wear skin colour?
The other issue i seem to be having that i have not told my son or wife about this, when i look in the mirror and the teacher makes us look at alot, i dont like the reflection, any one else like this? Im happy im comfortable and having fun dancing, but sweating alot!! its alot of work and so much to remember. When i look in the mirror i look at myself and see this tall guy in full ballet uniform and i ask myself what the hell i look like a professional dancer in form fitting ballet clothing and slippers the full kit, not the guy in work uniform hanging off me. Its just a big change to see myself all day working in my work uniform to a guy now doing dancing in tights and leotard doing ballet, its a big change for a guy. So i really hate the mirror. Im struggling to get over this because the reflection is just such a huge change for me to what i normally look like. I do think i look sensible just very very different.
One other minor issue i keep having it is when i lift my arms up or or anything that involves stretching or being in a fully straight body with an arm or two up, my teacher and a few other females seem to always look at me, not just a quick glance its like they are waiting for that move so they can watch me. It could be just me but it seems to happen every time and im not comfortable with them looking at me when they should be looking at where they are supposed to be doing. is something triggering this? What are they interested in while im at that stretching position? I dont see anything change. Ive tried it with tights over leotard and still the same. Any ideas whats going on its making me uncomfortable. Ive wearing a dance belt and dont see any problems down there. Do i have to ask the teacher to stop doing it? or Could be just me?
We are now into 5 Terms and loving it and getting alot better, But he does everything better than me, just because he,s young and flexible and is skinny, its unfair!

Got a call yesterday whilst at work that I can go in for preop yesterday then the operation tomorrow morning first thing. I accepted. Now preop is done and i just woke up at home and getting ready to go for the operation which is scheduled at 7:30am.
Super Anxious and was told not to take any anxiety pills as they might interfere. They told me they will give me something themselves.
Can’t wait to be over, the anxiety is killing me.

2025.01.22 04:46 Intelligent-Nugget I (25F) feel guilty for missing my ex (25M) when in a new relationship. Should I tell my new partner how I’m feeling?
I broke up with my (25F) ex (25M) of 6 years back in April of 2024. We had been together since our senior year of high school. We lived together for 4 years. I expressed concerns about us growing apart because I was finishing my masters degree and he had not even graduated from high school. He was still acting like he was 17 instead of 24, almost 25. When it came to the emotional side of the relationship he did all the right things to make me feel special. It was the life practical parts that we struggled to actually align together. I essentially did all the ‘adult’ things in the relationship and near the end I felt like I was more his mother than a girlfriend or partner. When I expressed these concerns, I gave him the time and opportunity to step up for the sake of himself, both of us and the relationship. Obviously, it never happened and I decided to end it. He moved out one month after I broke up with him. I spent time being single and having fun. I was not looking for a new relationship and was only focusing on myself and finishing school. For context, we work together then and still currently do at a restaurant. I’m a waitress and he is the head line cook. I recently graduated and am looking for my new big girl job. So we do still see and interact with each other on a regular basis but we do not speak outside of work. About 4 months after he moved out I met someone (21M) and despite him being younger, he acts much more mature and is currently in law school. He’s smart, funny, treats me so well, he’s wonderful. My ex, when finding out about this new guy in my life was not happy and caused some drama in the work place. It’s gotten easier with time. Now I know that we were not right for each other and he was and still is immature. That’s why I ended things in the first place but I cannot help but still love and care for him. Today I found out he has a new girl in his life and felt sadness and jealousy when finding this out. I also feel guilty for even feeling this way at all. Am I in the wrong for feeling this way? Should I let my new partner know? Is this normal? My previous relationship is the only serious relationship I’ve had apart from this new one I’ve started which we have only been officially together for 3 months. I guess I just want to know if it is wrong to feel the things I’m feeling.

I bought Skyrim the other day on Steam. I've always played it vanilla since I played it through Game Pass on PC. I've been trying to get these mods to work since Monday, but I'm about to give up. So I’ve beaten RDR2 like 8 times and I decided to play it again and mess around with mods. While I was using the rampage trainer to collect all the dinosaur bones, I was marking down the location and the animation didn’t play all the way before I teleported to the next one which caused my player to freeze and the only fix was using the menu to kill him. The issue is because the animation didn’t play out fully it didn’t count towards the total bones found so I’m stuck at 29/30. I tried reloading the game and when I went to the location that bugged the game the bones are gone. So I was hoping someone could possibly tell me how to fix this or if I’m screwed lol.
