I found out I was pregnant after me and my ex split up. We had been together for a nearly a decade and wasn't the first time we had separated.
But we decided to continue to live together during the pregnancy and whilst the baby was still young. Our baby is about 8 months old and we are still living together.
He is an active part of his child's life. He spends the evening playing with our child, he gets up during the night with our child, we spend our weekends together as a 'family'. He's never away for more than an hour other than for work.
The other day I was showing a mutual friend a video of our child on my ex's phone. My ex knew I was doing this.
And as the video finished, a text popped up from someone I didn't know and I accidentally opened it as I was trying to exit the video app.
It was a female name and the text was asking when he was going to see them next. I'll admit I was curious and scrolled up a bit, and they text constantly.
Multiple back and forth throughout the day, mostly just asking how each others day is or making jokes. He talks about our child and mentions me so this woman is clearly aware that we live together.
But there are never any texts/calls during the weekends or once he gets home after work. They also seem to call everyday and it must be while he's driving to and from work. Plus some texts from this woman asking when he'll next come round and asking if he can come round for longer to which he says he wants to but can't. And texts arranging to meet during his lunch break.
I confronted him about it. Asked why he hadn't told me he was dating someone. He told me he wasn't dating anyone. And when I told him I'd seen the texts, he said it was just a friend and it wasn't any of my business any way.
But we have a child together so it kinda is. He needs to be focused on our child and not out seeing other women. He said he wasn't dating anyone and, that focusing on our child is the exact reason he barely saw this woman. I told him he clearly is dating this woman, and not only has he hidden it from me, he his now lying to my face about it, and asked how we were supposed to raise or child together when he lies to me.
He said again that he wasn't dating this woman. That he hasn't hidden anything it just isn't any of my business and he isn't lying to me and he is focused on our baby.
