What l'd like to convey about this novel is that it's truly impactful when it leaves you utterly heartbroken. You know it's achieved its goal when it challenges everything you thought you knew, forcing you to re-examine your perspectives. As I reflect on it, I wonder, why not redraw the entire subcontinent with countless fine lines, rechristening every tiny locality? What difference would it make, really? It's all an illusion - a grand mirage. How can one possibly partition a memory?
The narrative is non-linear, with the protagonist's voice shifting between his pre-teen years and his twenties. Although it's written in the first person, most of the events unfold in the past, either through the protagonist's personal experiences or stories passed down to him. These tales may have occurred before his birth, and are often intertwined with his recollection of hearing them. As a reader, I found it easier to follow the story than to attempt to explain its complex structure. The majority of the narrative takes place in the aftermath of the India-Pakistan partition. Reading this book is, in itself, a profound journey.

I've been asking friends and family for help, but nobody wants to lend a hand, except for my stepmom, who has been graciously letting me use her vehicle for the time being. Hello I’m traumatized by these things loll. I keep 2 baskets of underclothing on the bottom shelf which gets me so paranoid since the rest of my shelves are full with my other clothes! I’m always anxious if they can crawl in there and I wouldn’t even see it or tell. Not that I ever have luckily but I wouldn’t be surprised if they would’ve. Like strips, some sort of thingy to repel idk what to call it exactly. I do have diatomaceous earth but I also have dogs and wild hate to have any powder spread to the floors where they walk since the entire upstairs is carpet. I only use it in corners then suction vacuum it up after 2-3 days

i use to be like a 6/10 i would say i was fairly okay looking before. now im a litterally a 1/10. im obese and trying to lose weight. but food itself helps me with depression. i dont know how the fuck to get out of this rut.
