i’ve been in college for 3 years now, and i’ve switched my major from pharmacist to kindergarten teacher to business admin. i should’ve graduated by now, but i’m not even interested in my major. i don’t want to drop out, though, because i’m already this far in. i’m set to graduate in 2026. i’m a twitch streamer because i love playing vid games, but we know how that usually plays out. i enjoy doing my own makeup, but i have almost no desire in pursuing it as a career being a makeup artist. i’ve thought about real estate, which doesn’t sound horrible as it would be a good career for now, keep me stable, and likely give me a good amount of money—but it requires money too, so i wouldn’t want to waste that on something i don’t want to do. i’m on tiktok and i’ve gotten a good amount of attention, and i strive to be popular and known on there. i feel like i’m frozen in a box, and cannot move out of it. i’ve been told to go to college, do real estate for now, and do acting on the side (which i’ve tried Scenebot and it wasn’t too shabby, and i think i’d enjoy acting), and similar things that i want to hopefully help bring my fame to life. i just want to be… known. i know how hard it is to have a fantasy like this in this life. i don’t want to work. i don’t want to take away the opportunity my parents gave me, to bring me to the USA, and my dad works to keep a roof over our heads just for us to be… nothing. i truly am looking for advice here, please be kind. i know how what i’m saying can sound ridiculous to some people, but something in me just knows i have a purpose here. i want the world to know me.
Would the idea of staying in college, set to graduate, while pursuing real estate as a career to keep me stable, all while trying to build a following on TikTok and exploring acting to eventually become famous, sound bad? 21y female here.

hello tous le monde j’écris ici car ça faisait plusieurs mois que je me sentais mal dans mon corps mais je ne savais pas pourquoi donc j’avais mis ça sur l’anxiété mais j’étais arrivé à un stade où je ne pouvais plus bouger de chez moi car je suffoquais instantanément sinon et ça devenait vraiment éprouvant de juste « vivre ». Je m’étais juste dis que je devais avoir développer un trouble de panique car la chose qui m’a mis la puce à l’oreille est le jour ou j’ai couru pour prendre le train et que une fois dedans j’ai commencé à suffoqué au point où j’avais accepté ma mort dans le train ( c’était juste après mes règles )donc un peu traumatisant ( totalement) depuis ce jour j’étais bloqué sur ma respiration sauf que j’étais dans un cerclé vicieux corps-esprit mais je ne savais absolument pas que j’avais 17 en fer. Mon quotidien devenait si éprouvant, bloqué chez moi quand je marchais 1km j’étais essoufflé mais je mettais ça sur le compte de l’hypervigilence et l’anxiété ce qui a pu joué mais mon corps me parlait bien. Chaque jour je pensais à ma survie et au fait qu’il y ai un truck qui cloche avec ma respiration. Bref voilà je sais pas si quand je remonterais mes taux je pourrais retourner en cours et juste vivre ma vie voir des amies … j’espère car j’ai gâché mon année scolaire à cause de ça et je suis dégoûtée

I wouldn’t exactly call myself new here since I’ve been following discussions on chargebacks and disputes through Reddit and ecommerce for quite some time. To be honest, it’s incredibly frustrating that even disputes we win are still counted toward our dispute rate. What’s more concerning is how some customers—especially from the US—treat chargebacks as an easy way to recover money from impulse purchases or engage in what’s often referred to as "friendly fraud."
That said, I’m here seeking advice on how to move forward with my business and, more importantly, how to minimize the risk of potential disputes or chargebacks from customers.
About My Business I run a small forwarding business based in Southeast Asia. Our service helps customers purchase products from local marketplaces and ship them worldwide, addressing barriers like language, payment, and logistics.
Our model differs slightly from traditional forwarders. Customers simply paste the product link from a local marketplace into our platform, and we provide an all-inclusive quote, including shipping. This quote is based on a system that calculates dimensions and weight. Once a customer places an order, we purchase the item on their behalf, ship it to our warehouse for quality checks, and then forward it to their destination.
The Issue with Disputes While most aspects of our business are running smoothly, disputes—especially from US customers—have been a major headache. Nearly every dispute we’ve encountered originates from US-based customers. Our very first dispute, for example, was a fraud charge that we’re confident wasn’t fraudulent.
When we lose a dispute, it’s not just the product cost and expensive shipping that we lose—it’s the full amount the customer paid us, leaving us effectively incurring double the cost. Here’s an example breakdown of what a single dispute can look like:
- Product Cost: -$150
- Shipping Cost: -$150
- Amount Paid by Customer: $350
- Loss Due to Dispute: -$350
- Stripe Dispute Fee: -$50
- Total Loss: -$350
Adding to the complexity, refunds are typically not feasible because we don’t own the products, nor are sellers on the original marketplaces obligated to accept returns. While we’ve tried offering out-of-pocket vouchers as goodwill, they rarely satisfy dissatisfied customers.
What Are My Options? I’m exploring potential solutions to mitigate these challenges and would appreciate any insights from the community. Here are some ideas I’m considering:
- Strengthening Our Terms & Conditions: Would implementing stricter T&Cs help us protect the business legally in dispute scenarios?
- Adding Disclaimers or Waivers: Could a clear disclaimer or indemnity waiver at checkout help set proper expectations and reduce disputes?
- Reevaluating Business Feasibility: At what point does the risk of disputes outweigh the viability of this business model? Should I consider pivoting or even shutting down if this issue persists?
