Shooting in the rain can take you out of your comfort zone, but the dramatic effect can be worth it. Ideally I should have lowered the ISO for the shot, but I happened to be set up for shooting in a darker direction when this guy showed up. Rather than miss it I fired off a shot. E-M1 Mk III, M. 2025.01.22 12:53 kooshila1 Feminine Alternatives to Common Phrases
A lot of phrases use masculine conotation to mean good and powerful and in charge and feminine conotation to mean annoying or to objectify. The societal conotation means that just switching "wears the pants" to "wears the skirt" wouldn't work since it doesn't hold the same societal conotation yet. So we have the challenging task of changing it from "man strong woman annoying" to "woman strong, man follow" while using the same existing gender conotations. Here I've made a few attempts I'd love input on. And also any more suggestions "Man up" → "Hair pulled back" Man up tells someone to suck it and handle it. Get serious, get it done. So imagine needing to get serious and get shit done, what do you do? You pull your hair back and get it done, a metaphor for getting serious and ready to face challenges. Examples: "Oh, pull your hair back and handle it." "Time to get things done—hair pulled back, let’s go." "Hysteria" → "Testentrum" Hysteria is the famous example of language against women. Hyster is greek for uterus, when women get worked up the greeks were loke "ah yes, shes acting like that because she has a uterus". When men were worked up they were 'your acting like you got a uterus' so similarly we can do testentrum. Testosterone - tantrum Examples: "He’s throwing a testentrum because his idea got ignored." "Don’t pay attention to his testentrum—it’ll pass soon." "Wears the pants" → "Holds the purse" Wears the pants means makes the decisions around the house. Because pants mean man. So if she wears the pants... We can't exactly switch pants with skirt. No conotation there yet. But... Holding the purse works. The purse is where the money is, making decisions in the household is generally about what money goes where. So the person woth the oerson is in charge. So if she holds the purse or he holds the purse, we have our conotation working and female focused! Explanation: Shifts focus from male-dominated decision-making to financial and authoritative control, reclaiming the symbolic purse as a mark of power. Examples: "She holds the purse in this household." "If you want something approved, talk to the one who holds the purse." "Grow a pair" → "Earn your blood" Works for both genders, but more for women. Rather than telling one about balls, you remind someone that they shouldn't be afraid of some blood. Examples: "It’s tough, but this is your chance to earn your blood." "No excuses—earn your blood and talk to her." submitted by kooshila1 to Gynarchism [link] [comments] |

2025.01.22 12:53 LilPichula AirPods 4 ANC battery
I have AirPods 4 ANC they are not even 4 months old. I use them like 2 or 3 hours daily max. I feel like the battery of the case drains super fast. I have to charge it like every 4/5 days. I had AirPods gen 1 and I remember I could go weeks without charging the case. Anyone else has this problem?? Thanks!!

2025.01.22 12:53 battler624 Direct-Die 9800X3D.
My 9800x3d is pretty fucked, tried 3 coolers, 4 pastes, 1 pcm (& another pcm incoming) all of which make perfect contact with the IHS but the cpu still goes to thermal throttling almost immediately, heck even when I am browsing i've seen it spike. I do not think these are normal https://i.imgur.com/8osY5Sj.png < this is with the thermalright peerless assassin 120 mini & undervolted by -30 (which should be under 90).
And this is from today, https://i.imgur.com/jBkB0fb.png, literally just browsing & played FF14.
Either way, I got unlucky with a, CPU & so I wish to fix this issue but delidding and directly cool the die.
Is it possible to directly cool it? would the Z-height of the CCX affect cooling (such as cooling the ccx die itself but not the I/O die)? and honestly the most important question, how much height should i remove from the spacers and screws to make contact? If anyone has done this do please tell.

Any tips on PETG clear?
So I am currently printing my 5th High Speed Propeller Launcher by Lukas Hannert and I got the bright idea to print the outer housing out of clear PETG so I can see the gears moving inside.
Does anyone have any experience with making the material more clear? I am using 20mm/s speeds at 255°C with 1.07 flow rate and .12mm layer height
I am using Bambu Lab’s PETG Clear and printing directly out of my dehydrator.
Thanks!!

2025.01.22 12:53 Striking-Goat3961 Eye contact remedy
Title is a little clickbait, but yeah, this is just something I figured out over time and may help other people. Basically it's something you can do which over time should rewire your brain a little if you suffer from anxiety about eye contact. The goal is to get a picture of a person head on, usually on a PC screen where the head is cropped and as big as the screen/a normal head. You may think "oh just stare into there eyes and I'll get used to it", that didn't work for me. It wasn't something I felt at all relatable to a real person, the anxiety of what they was thinking of me is what made me scared to death and ultimately made me feel like I'm a weird human. But the more I stared at this face on a screen, the more I realised that the only reason I'm not feeling anxiety staring at a faces eyes on a screen is because I simply did not care, because I knew that person is just an image, the persons thoughts of me are non existent therefore I don't care about staring into their eyes. Well, isn't this relatable to real life? If you just do not care about the persons mind, you actually and fully eradicate the thoughts of what they are thinking, to the point that they are just a picture on a screen, you no longer care about maintaining eye contact. You are aleady capable of doing so if you dont get anxiety looking at the screen, that is already a tool set you have, its not eyes that scare you, its their mind. Your immediate thoughts when you lock eyes with someone is "oh god", but the next time that happens, just think "why is this different from me staring at a screen", keep asking yourself it. Over time you may start to rewire your brain. It's something you really need to think about deeply to get into your mind for it to have value, but I hope it helps someone.

2025.01.22 12:53 Rakluder Did you know
The idea that children should learn through natural consequences comes from Jean Jacques Roussau’s (1700s poet) philosophy on parenting. This man had children of his own, but he abandoned them so he did not try out his own model practically. It’s just a really well thought out and interesting philosophy, but to give some food for thought I’d like to criticize this idea:
Firstly, does not-yet developed humans have the ability to learn from each of their mistakes or is it more likely that they are going to keep being reactive and repeat? -If a child is to be dominating other children then he will probably continue to. A consequence of this would probably lead to other children bending to his will and may start to devalue their own feeling just to avoid conflicts or maybe straight up hitting back. This behavior could follow them for a long time especially if not actively worked on.
I believe children sometimes need the help of a parent to just say ”slow down, lets think about what just happened” because I dont see children initiate this thought reflection by them self. If everything was to be learned the hard way, wouldn’t their behavior become more reactive and selfish?
Would love to hear your thoughts!
