Howdy - I'm looking for the biggest punching subwoofer that fits in my media console (acoustically transparent). I know I'm not supposed to do this but I already have two in-wall subwoofers (so I've got something, albeit unimpressive) and am somewhat constrained by the room and, most importantly, the WAF.
Ideally, the subwoofer enclosure dimensions would be 17.25"x17.25"x17.5" (HxWxD). This would fit the easiest, without and adjustments to my console.
However, I can easily remove the back of the console and gain some extra depth if I get a meaningful improvement in oomph. That would give me an extra 3" to play with (17.25"x17.25x20.5").
An alternative configuration (that shortens the depth from above but gets additional width due to the cabinet door hinges) is 17.25x18"x18.75".
I'm not super price sensitive but let's just put a cap at $2k. I'd consider paying more if the outcome is amazing. Like "holy shit my face is about to melt" ROI.
The sub will be connected to an Anthem MRX1140 (two sub outputs). My existing two in-wall subwoofers will stay. One of the MRX subwoofer outs is connected to this amp, which powers the two in-walls. The system is currently an 7.2.4.

I am looking for a new option for headphones. i get overstimulated a lot and use the headphones to compensate but sense they broke i have been using earbuds that don't work nearly as well. I have used the Skullcandy crusher ANC for my last two sets of headphones and both of them broke in less than a year. and even after repairs they still broke with a year of the fix. i really like these but i need something that will last longer. I have gone to BestBuy which is the only tech store close to me besides Walmart and i cant find anything i like besides the Skullcandy. most of the ones I've tried i disliked more for fit than quality because they were on ear or they were over ear but still pressed on my ear. I'd like to retain as many feature as possible but i understand that not everything can be done
- Budget: my budget is 300 dollars but I'm flexible (300-500 is my hard cap) to retain the features
- Source: i plan to use these with my phone laptop and guitar amp so it needs both Bluetooth and audio jack
- Isolation: i use these headphones indoors and outdoors. for outdoors i use them as hearing protection while mowing, running a chainsaw, or running anything loud. so lots of noise isolation is good. for indoor use i use them to block out sound when I'm overwhelmed but i also use passthrough occasionally while doing things on the computer where people need to be able to get my attention but i can live without it.
- Will I be using the headphone in public: i live in the country so not a lot but i do if I'm in a crowd of any size or in a city while traveling
- Preferred type of headphone: over eafull size. I'm particular about things touching my ear so the bigger the ear cushions the better.
- preferred tonal balance: one of the reasons i particularly liked the crusher ANC was for the adjustable bass. if i don't have it i want a balanced sound with some more bass but not a lot. it makes podcasts hard to understand
- past headphones: i have only used the crusher ANC for the last 2 sets of headphones and before that just some Walmart cheepies i hated. i really like the size and audio of the crusher ANC as well as the adjustable bass. the active noise canceling is great as well because engine sounds cut through music really bad. and the passthrough audio while i didn't use it much was great for when i was working on my laptop and needed to be able to have my attention easily gotten. the audio jack was nice because i could plug it into my guitar amp that doesn't have Bluetooth but the wireless capability is nice for daily use at school and when working outside.

Hey everyone, just wanting to share my feelings since I've been feeling very shitty and emotional since I stopped 4 days ago. I was slurping the vape pretty much non stop for 3 months, life had just gotten so chaotic it felt like the only way to keep myself going without completely breaking down mentally. Anyway. Last week I finished a whole 1g cart in less than a week and just felt numb, maybe a little happy for 20 minutes after a hit. That was my breaking point. Like where the fuck is my life going like this. So I decided to stop and get my health back on track.
Fuck dude it has been so hard these days 4 though. I'm having a tough time with just the basics the last few days. Absolutely no appetite at all, everything just tastes like rubber when I do eat. So fatigued, it's hard to get out of bed, headache just constant, trying to stay hydrated but it's struggle. Super depressed and anxious.
Feeling a little more normal today but it's tough. Gotta keep trucking, luckily have Absolutely 0 urges right now. Just sick of it.

Hi all. So i applied to 4 schools that give you the option to send in your mid-year report. The issue is our first semester transcript was supposed to come out jan 9th, but due to the eaton fire, I haven't been in school since jan 7th, and have no first semester transcript. I probably won't go back to school until next week, or the start of February.
I want to submit my first semester grades because I took 2 community college courses that aren't offered at my school Calc 2 and calculus based physics for engineers (i'm a mech e major) and got A's in them. I also got A's in the other 3 classes I took (my engineering course, english via my community college, and econ).
I applied ED2 to Vanderbilt, so I imagine it might be too late for them, but should I communicate this to the other colleges I applied to? Should I not submit it and just tough it out? If I do tell colleges this do I email my admissions officer? I really don't know what to do, and I know this is a unique circumstance.

2025.01.22 15:50 i_spock Boiler system not keeping up with the cold
This is our first winter in our new home in the upper peninsula of Michigan. Our boiler and radiators are modern, < 5 years old. Temps in the area getting into the negative numbers and the system struggles to keep the house at 60. The kitchen, with two very large windows, only gets to about 55, even though it has the biggest radiator in the house. The boiler is running at full tilt, says 181F on the display on the front. No error codes. The pressure is between 10-15 (psi? not sure of the unit). All the radiators get very warm.
I think it's working as designed but just isn't keeping up with how cold it is. I did bleed the air in radiators but they didn't need it much. What are my options? Do I need more radiators? Should the boiler be adjusted to make the water hotter? I've never owned a house with a boiler before, and looking at the manuals for boiler and radiators makes it sound like I need a math degree to make any adjustments to the system. Thanks for any advice.

Ursa, our bottle baby, had a chiropractic exam yesterday & we are happy to report her back leg injury was adjusted properly.
She is now faster than ever & will enjoy a long, happy life. Great news as she is so smart, cuddly. We continue efforts to slowly reintroduce her to her herd.
Disclaimer: I am a chiropractor skeptic. My old fella never really helped my pain, but he sure had products and supplements to sell! This lady? I was absolutely gobsmacked the first time she put hands on my grumpy, lame donkey. Immediate improvement with attitude change.
