Here is a story that may assist in understanding why you may need to cultivate an ability to be patient when manifesting: It is the story called “The Chinese Bamboo”
The Frustrated Man Once upon a time, there was a man who was disappointed with his life. He worked very hard all day and put in much effort, but he always faced failure. The man felt very frustrated, so one day he left everything and exiled himself to the forest. He met a Hermit there. Seeing the frustrated man, the Hermit asked him why he was living in the woods. The man told the Hermit about his failure and asked, “Please tell me one reason why I should not give up my sad life?
Fern and the Chinese Bamboo The Hermit told him the Chinese bamboo story. He showed the man two plants and asked, “Do you see the two plants there? The fern and the Chinese bamboo?” The man nodded in yes. Hermit then told him that he had planted the seeds of both the plants together. He said, “I took proper care of both plants. I gave them the required food, water, sunlight and fertiliser. But the fern grew quickly within a short period but the bamboo did not.” The man was confused and asked the Hermit why it was so.
The Hermit nourished the bamboo The Hermit continued, “I nurtured the Chinese bamboo for four years but nothing happened. There was no sign of growth. But, I did not give up on the tree and continued to nurture it. In the fifth year, the Chinese bamboo tree grew almost 90 feet tall within two months.” Hearing this the man became stunned. He asked the Hermit, “So nothing happened in the bamboo tree seed for the first four years, but it grew to a shocking height only in a few months! How is it possible?”
The Magic of Chinese Bamboo The Hermit laughed and explained to the man that the little bamboo tree was using all the nourishment to grow below the soil and to develop its strong root system that would help it grow tremendously tall. The Chinese bamboo developed a strong foundation to help sustain itself in its later years.
The fully grown Chinese bamboo tree The Hermit then asked the man, “Do you now understand why you should not give up on your life?” The man finally learnt his lesson that all his struggles were building his foundation for a better life. He thanked the Hermit and left the forest to start his life afresh and to fulfil his dreams.

Hey guys,
Sorry for the long rant but I would really appreciate some opinions and/or some advice!
In high school I was part of a "magnet program" for engineering and design, basically you get to learn some basics of the profession and stuff before starting college. After taking 4 years of courses and learning numerous engineering and design courses I did really well with designing and drafting, my teachers would use my work as examples and I just kind of had like a natural knack for it. So when it came time to apply for university, I definitely didn't want to do any sort of engineering, so I decided on architecture. This significantly lowered my range of schools and went the the only school in my state that had an arch program.
When I started university our program was very disorganized specifically for my studios, they were short on professors so our introductory class was forced to be held online and over the summer. Also all of the lower division courses were taught by alum of the program, not actual professors, and it was their first time teaching. I REALLY loved my architectural history courses (that prof had been there for a while and was very good), and did ok with my first three semesters of my studio course.
I kind of woke up from my dreams of being an architect during my fourth semester, when I encountered my first people with "architect ego". One was a digital media professor, just all in all a bad professor, just expected us to know how to do everything without showing us, gave grades based on his mood, the whole thing. That I could handle and brush him off, but what really got me was a juror that I had for one of my projects. He thought he was a "starchitect" and a complete asshole. Would judge our projects and tell us we were terrible, of course there were some valid critiques in there but sometimes he would just say things that were completely out of line such as "you will fail as an architect" or " you should choose a different career because you're no good". Things that I don't think anyone should be saying to anyone. The first time he judged one of my projects I grazed by with the just the usual bullshit. The second time I was very proud of my design and whilst I was in the middle of explaining it he interrupted me by putting his hand up and then closing it saying "I've heard enough from you" and the critiques he followed with weren't even really about my project, it felt more like he was insulting my intelligence and my character, it felt personal to me. At this point I had been doing this sort of thing for 6 years and I can definitely handle critiques about my work, but this didn't feel like it was about my work, he literally made me cry in front of my whole class. It was genuinely one of the most embarrassing moments of my life.
After that whole experience, it really dampened my whole outlook on architecture, I spoke to my professor after and he did show concern for me but he was kind of like "that's just the way it is". Shortly after this I also found out that one of my peers a few years before I had started at the school was so sleep deprived after working on a project late at night was driving home from studio, accidently drove the wrong way onto incoming traffic and DIED. The school didn't care, didn't do anything to change the culture of the studios just made the deadline for big projects 9pm the night before.
Additionally, to apply to the upper division courses they were extremely selective, something like 90 students applied but only 30 or something get in. In lower division they would pit us against each other as our competition and almost taunt us. At the time I was also living with another arch student and could feel the tension because of this competitiveness.
After everything going on with studio, I developed almost extreme anxiety, the lack of sleep took a toll on my health, and I was really questioning if I even wanted to be an architect if this is what it was like. I was just so sick of all the bullshit.
Over the summer I decided not to return back to the program and switch to the business school instead, even though they accepted me to their oh so prestigious upper division. *eye roll*. Now that I have done a semester and am starting my second in business, I am definitely way more rested and less stressed and excel in all of my courses. But part of me misses being a creative, I have friends who continued with the program and they say it's better in third year because we have real professors and there's not really that competitive element. Right now, despite everything I'm wondering if I regret switching out.
I still LOVE architecture, architectural history, and designing. I just miss that creative outlet, rn im on the path of financial analytics, data analytics, or getting my CPA, (I thought that if I'm going to work long hours then I might as well get paid) and I'm wondering if I will regret not persevering to reach the dream I had. I could go to get my M.Arch at A DIFFERENT SCHOOL after I graduate, if i do decide to go back with it, but I'm just not sure. I'm not really interested in going into construction management or anything like that so i'm just hoping for advice or opinions on what I should do. Thanks!!

Saw so many posts during the heydays asking "mid and small give such better returns, why can't we just invest everything there?" - I hope those people have their answer now. It looks like they do, seeing the posts here today. Wonder what will happen when the SIPs stop though, that is literally the only thing holding up mid and small right now.  | I’ve had this little spot for a long time, at least 6 months. I’m pretty sure it’s a blackhead but one I’m not able to squeeze out. Have tried from time to time and sometimes a small amount of pus comes out that smells unpleasant. But I was already hooked on extracts for years prior to starting 7OH. I was starting to use a credit card too but luckily didn’t get too deep into that. I am on suboxone and it is giving me the freedom to keep my money. I am going to try to save for a while to attempt to at least partially make up for it but that’ll take years.

Ok so important and kinda dire question,
If an RA finds out that my toilet is clogged? Will I get fined?
Cuz I’ve tried endlessly to unclog it with a plunger and it’s not working so I put in a maintenance request, but it hasn’t been assigned yet. And the thing is, i only have one suitemate and she’s an RA. I would ask if I could use her bathroom for the time being, but I’m scared she’s gonna fine me cuz of how badly my atomic level sharts clogged my toilet. But the thing is i really need to pee and I’m tired of going all the way out to the bathroom I’m my floor’s lobby. So will she fine me if she finds out about it cuz i ask her if I can use her bathroom for the time being?

Hey everyone. I am trying to see if there are any cards that let you stack the top of an opponent's library. Most things I have found which interact with an opponent's library either deal more with milling/exiling a card or you are able to stack a card on top along with other effects but then they draw the card that was place on top. Are there any cards that could be played under a dimir commander which can stack the top card of an opponent's library and then leave it on top so you are able to interact with it with something else? 2025.01.22 19:13 blur47 How can I soundproof this?
Wasn’t sure what to flair this but everyone’s bedroom door has these vents over them that aren’t routed to anything. The problem with them is that they allow all noise from outside and inside the bedrooms to be heard which isn’t the best for privacy/sleeping. I was wondering how to effectively sound proof them. I thought that maybe soundproof foam would work? We live in Arizona so I’m not sure if these are essential to be left open for airflow in the summer?

 | Long story short, fell in love with downhill mountain biking early 2024. First bought a trek marlin 5, then bought this used Santa Cruz Bronson C with an upgraded fork. I was early in it and I think it was a negligent buy. The dropped and rear shock have never been serviced and are in dyer need. All in I paid $2,400 for the used Santa Cruz, and a refresh to get me through the summer. It does well at my local bike park (Highland Mountain Bike Park). I’ve rented some bikes there just to see if there’s a difference in the geometry and I loved how the Rocky Mountains felt, although I chose a large and felt it wasn’t quite what I wanted. I like the feel of my medium Santa Cruz. That being said it needs a full rebuild and I’m not sure I should dump more money into a bike this old. Came across this sale today at my local bike shop for a 2025 GT Fury. They have medium and large ready to go for just under $2500. Should I pull the trigger? I think I could sell the Bronson to recoup some money but I guess my fear is, well I’m not sure. I’m on the fence with GT going out of business but curious what people would do in my position. Should I keep the Santa Cruz for a year and work up my skills? Or switch to the GT, sell the Santa Cruz and hopefully have a bike I know is functioning properly. I do feel like the Santa Cruz and the work it needs on the rear shock is hindering myself in learning and getting better. I might need advice/perspective/space to rant. The wee one (6M) moves at a snail pace when it comes to showers, or really anything they dont want to do.
Also my husband (40) has changed job to one where he will be away travelling 50% or more of the time.
I (40F) had my breaking point today. My kids go to swimming lessons. Due to my wee ones age, he needs to go into the boys changing room. I can't. For the last few weeks, he takes forever to go through. 45 + minutes if I send other father's to keep him moving. This was the first time my husband was going to be here for the kids lesson, so I counted on him helping get the little lad through. Hubby took the kids to the lesson and I joined right after work.
Hubby says we need some things, so he drives off right when I arrive. I'm grumpy here. When he's not travelling, he's home, no work for him, full day to get his stuff done. I'd already told him to pick kids up from school and run the errands with them before swimming cos I need him to help with the after shower.
So hubby goes his merry way, runs his errands and takes one of mine (needed food for kids lunches). If he had told me he hadn't done his errands, I would have happily completed them. He was going to a town that was 15 minutes drive from where I was working. Instead I drive the 30minutes to get to the pool for him to leave. Kids finish their swimming lessons. Youngest finishes first, and goes into his shower. And stays there for over 1 hour and 20 minutes.... I can't go in and as luck would have it, no dads that I know to check up on him. Hubby arrives back at the hour n 20 min mark, and I am so angry I'm almost crying. My daughter (9) and I go home.
I'm still furious, and told hubs why. He's now going over board with his "When I'm home, I'll take the kids 100%. You obviously can't...." I zone out a little here so don't completely remember what he said. I know he is trying to be supportive, but is messing it up royally, and I'm back to rage tears creeping up.
We've all found our own corners in the house for space. Soooo.....will he survive the night? And if not, how to cover it up....? (S)
