2025.01.22 16:59 Thanos167 Thinking of upgrading my GPU, will my CPU limit me?
Hi all, a friend of mine offered me an ASUS Strix 3080 for my current PC build. The current build has an ASUS Strix 1080 with an Intel i5-9600k CPU. The current build seems relatively balanced for gaming use, but I was considering the upgrade for future proofing. However I am worried about if I would be CPU bottlenecked if I do. Would this be the case or would the 3080 go great with my CPU?

2025.01.22 16:59 Responsible-Band8169 Doctor prescribed CPAP for waking up frequently at night to pee. It did not help night 1. Will it get better?
Basically, without any sort of sleep medication, I’ll be getting up many many times to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night and force out a small amount of urine. No bladder medication has helped. I did an in lab sleep study that showed some disruptions to my breathing but not full-blown sleep apnea. The doctor wanted me to try a CPAP so prescribed it for three days to try to see if it would be effective in helping, but I tried it last night for the first time And still kind of woke up at the same time with that same small urge to urinate. Is this normal for it to not work the first night? Or do I just not have sleep apnea.

2025.01.22 16:59 Zerrian Several Custom Classes and Subclasses
For some time now I've been developing classes to be used with Tales of the Valiant (and 5e with some adjustments). While none of these classes and subclasses have been play tested (besides the Bandit). I wanted to get these classes out to the wider community for playtest feedback to see what, if anything, needs adjustments for balancing reasons.
One of the big things to note is that Tales of the Valiant classes are designed to be stronger than their 5e cousins (2014 edition at least). Please bear that in mind when suggesting something is OP when it comes to adjusting for D&D 5e.
Many of the classes are fully fleshed out to level 20 but I'm showing the demo/beta testing pages for levels 1-5 at the moment. All classes come with three subclass options as well to give a taste of the unique potential direction each class can take.

The Weeknd’s After Hours, Dawn FM, and Hurry Up, Tomorrow: A Theory of
Death, Rebirth, and the Search for Meaning
The Weeknd has always explored a wide range of themes throughout his discography, including identity, addiction, celebrity, love, and grief. However, we see a change in his storyline beginning with After Hours (2020) and continuing with Dawn FM (2022), which suggests something deeper: an existential trip. As these albums go on, we watch the main character—often interpreted as Abel Tesfaye's alter ego—fall into a deep hole, consider his own life and transgressions, and perhaps even look for atonement. It's a trilogy of life cycles rather than merely albums: the passing of the former self, a state of spiritual purgatory, and the eager anticipation of rebirth.
According to this concept, themes of existential reflection, personal sorrow, and the potential for transcendence are all woven together in After Hours, Dawn FM, and the impending Hurry Up, Tomorrow. These albums collectively provide a contemporary examination of the human soul trapped between the ordinary and the holy, between the need for purpose in a broken world and the self-destructive inclinations of addiction. They tell a tale of spiritual development, death and rebirth, and the uncertainty of what comes after; they are more than just records.
1. After Hours: The Descent into the Abyss
We encounter a man at his darkest moments in After Hours. The album creates a mood of inner instability, loneliness, and self-loathing right from the eerie opening chords of "Alone Again." The main character, Abel's alter ego, is caught up in a destructive cycle of broken relationships, addiction, and celebrity. In "Blinding Lights" and "Heartless," we learn about the negative effects of unrestrained hedonism, the psychological fallout from dysfunctional love relationships, and the pointless quest for approval.
Fundamentally, After Hours depicts the demise of a previous self—a persona engulfed in excess, shame, and self-doubt. The persona is trapped in a never-ending cycle of escapism in the terrifying neon-lit environment portrayed in the music videos. Although the old self is dying, it is not yet prepared to face its errors or evolve. The protagonist is too engrossed in his harmful habits, and the emotional scars are too severe. We detect an echo of sorrow in songs like "Save Your Tears," but it is remorse that hasn't been resolved yet.
The death of the unhealed soul—someone who has not yet started their path to redemption—is the central theme of After Hours. In the greater arc of self-destruction, it is the ideal beginning point. However, despite all of this gloom, there is a sliver of hope—the yearning for something greater, something better. Though it's still unclear whether the protagonist will decide to break free or keep spiralling, this is where the first step towards change starts.
2. Dawn FM: The Spiritual Purgatory
Dawn FM stands for the limbo or purgatory that follows After Hours if the former self dies. The protagonist of the 2022 album lives in a world that is neither completely alive nor completely dead, representing an existential between ground. With Jim Carrey speaking as a guide to assist the protagonist (and the listener) in navigating the spiritual shift, Dawn FM, which is framed as a radio broadcast from the hereafter, has the surreal feel of an afterlife voyage.
In terms of music, Dawn FM is a development of After Hours; it is less gloomy and more contemplative, fusing synthwave, disco, and funk from the 1980s with aspects of introspective pop. There is a profound melancholy below the oddly cheerful tone. There is a sense of letting go in songs like "Sacrifice" and "Take My Breath," but it's a sad surrender rather than a joyful release. The main character is attempting to escape the cycle of addiction and self-destruction that held him in After Hours by coming to terms with his past transgressions and transgressions. But this is not a simple procedure. It resembles navigating a labyrinth of worries, regrets, and memories.
The main topic of Dawn FM is its "purgatorial" quality: the character is beginning to think back on the past but is still burdened by it. As heard in "Phantom Regret by Jim," the album's philosophical reflection implies that the protagonist is at last accepting responsibility for their deeds, admitting their shortcomings, and contemplating their future. It seems like the trip is never-ending in Dawn FM. The character is caught between worlds; they can't completely get away from the suffering, but they can't find the tranquilly they're looking for either. Though it's uncertain if this road will result in salvation or further hopelessness, the idea of spiritual cleansing and personal reckoning looms big.
3. Hurry Up, Tomorrow: The Anxiety of Rebirth
The title alone alludes to a major theme shift a feeling of impatience and expectation for the future, combined with existential uncertainty even if we haven't heard Hurry Up, Tomorrow in its full yet. If Dawn FM is the limbo of introspection and metamorphosis and After Hours represents the death of the former self, then Hurry Up, Tomorrow will probably symbolise the protagonist's battle to completely embrace a new beginning while harbouring fears and anxieties about what that new beginning may entail.
The title suggests that the main character is yearning for something, such as transcendence, clarity, or change, but that "something" is still just out of grasp. They are prepared to move on from the past, but they have no idea what the future may bring. An underlying anxiety of moving forward and of what it means to be reborn permeates the atmosphere. Although "tomorrow" might represent a new beginning or era, it is still unclear whether the protagonist would experience a redemptive rebirth or return to the same destructive cycle.
The Overall Theory: Death, Limbo, and Rebirth
When combined, the three albums create a cohesive storyline that tracks a protagonist, who is a reincarnation of Abel, as he or she goes through a cycle of self-destruction, introspection, and the hazy hope for rebirth. The ego dies after hours, and emotional and psychological anarchy ensues. Dawn FM is a metaphor for the limbo, where the main character confronts their past and considers the possibility of atonement. Lastly, Hurry Up, Tomorrow represents the line between what was and what might be; it evokes both the fear of the unknown and the expectation of change.
This trilogy offers a musical meditation on death, introspection, and rebirth while exploring the human condition. It is a tale about facing our worst tendencies, accepting the repercussions of our choices, and eventually attempting to find a way to go on, even in the face of uncertainty.
In the end, hurry up since, like life itself, tomorrow may not provide a definitive answer. But maybe the essential heart of what it means to be human—to always strive, to face our demons, and to hope for a brighter future—is found in the anxiety of waiting for tomorrow.

2025.01.22 16:59 Ok_Guidance4011 Gay Marriage Advice
I’m 32M and my spouse is 39M (he’s soon to be 40) we have been in an official relationship since 2013 and married in 2019. I love my husband with a passion, he is loving and caring. We had a rough patch in 2021 where I felt devastated and depressed due to possible infidelity on his side, but we worked through it. I feel like I got into this relationship way too young at 20 years old and never really got to discover myself or make much friends. (I moved to South FL for him) Fast forward to 2025 and I still love him but I’m not “in love” with him. We’ve created such a great life together and don’t want to picture this differently. All of this came up when a hung out with someone who made me feel a different way (non-sexually) just made me realize how I never really took advantage of my 20’s to meet new people since I’ve been in this relationship for 12. Some advice would be helpful!
