I want to dual boot Windows 11 for the primary purpose of being able to play Fortnite. It is the only game I want to play that isn’t Linux compatible, but a lot of my friends play it, and the Deck is the most gaming capable device I own. I have the 512 GB model but I don’t want to sacrifice a huge partition for an OS I don’t really use otherwise (my personal laptop runs Fedora, I haven’t touched Windows in many years). I also worry about potential hassles that dual booting might introduce, because I remember that Windows used to ‘eat GRUB’ sometimes back when I used to dual boot it alongside Fedora on my laptop. Would creating a partition be worth it, or would it make more sense to turn to other solutions like cloud gaming?

hello everyone, i currently have a 6950xt, upgraded from a 3060 ti and have been on a 5600x for quite a while now. I was planning to buy a 5700x3d when my paycheck came in but now they went from around 140 to 200+. with these circumstances i’m wondering how it would be to just buy a micro center bundle for a 7600x or maybe even a 9600x. Would it be worth the upgrade for 1440p gameplay? Thanks!

Just wondering if anyone else has noticed that over the course of the last week, 2-4 burnebrand new accounts have been posting random Peoria related news (Peoria's first homicide/schools closing related to weather) with no comment offered. This is coming from someone admittedly low in the totem pole (I'm an undergrad), but I have worked under physicians who display an unnerving lack of knowledge about the statistics needed to do science properly.

To be a T.I. , Targeted Individual, is also a blessing on some levels. My name is Rory and this is my story. I am the product of a military family. My father is a marine and my mother. Japanese. And in my life, I have endured numerous experiences that I never outright questioned.
Going into high school, my father and I were both accused of something heinous. It got to a point the town I lived in, literally tried to bully and terrorize me. I spent the 1st 2 years of my high school life in gladiator school. Not to mention from some bad decisions went to prison for weed and selling mdma. When you goto prison in a younger age it's legit gladiator school. I can honestly say I have been in over 200 fights in my life and in those fights just 1 black eye.
Fast forward. I at one point wondered why that whole situation happened. I even at one point openly said that I didn't believe in God. But I have come to realize and understand that what we go thru in life shapes us to be who we are and prepares us for what our purpose in life is.
Because I literally had to fight for my life growing up and even in my 20s for my choices. What this group is and has tried doing to me is nothing. The most high gave me the wisdom and skill set to handle this stage of my life.
I once told my wife that for him to bring someone like me into this fight. There had to be a power shift bc had I would have met this group in my 20s. I can assure you i would have been sitting in prison without a release date unapologetically.
And during this whole chain of events bc there wasn't a thing that the group could do to me. And I even walked across a meeting where I heard them say that about me. They started to do things to come after my son and wife.
Eloheim. Stepped in and gave me grace and gave me a way to back them up off of my family. I came across someone who for whatever reason something inside of me kept telling me that I needed to be in contact with them. This person had my file pulled and told me everything on it of importance. Which is how I know official. Unofficial. The status on us. He also gave me a way to leverage my family's safety. Which I took.
And everything til right now. I am able to stand and be a rod to those who are lost or to the gangstalkers. I would much rather those slouches pile on me then pick on people in the area I live. Bc in the end, I can handle them.
The file built on me. My life all speaks for itself. I have the capacity to be evil and very violent. And I'm not the turn the other cheek kind of person. My purpose is to break chains. To help others esp victims of this. And I will do so until I am no longer able to do so.

Anyone else just feeling completely defeated by daycare? It’s like we had to tour 10 places and pay almost a grand just to get accepted into 1, and that was supposed to reassure us that our kid was being cared for full time so we could work.
Now that we’re in daycare, they literally will close or send her home for the most minor things. I get sending her home for being actually sick, but today we got a call that she has to come home because she “pooped 3 times”. She’s not sick. She’s just pooping too much?! And they gave us previous feedback that she isn’t “playing well enough by herself” (she’s 6 months old). Am I crazy for being frustrated with this?
FWIW, I work in public health so I 100% support staying home if sick but this isn’t that. I feel like they just don’t want to deal with her and are looking for reasons to send her home, which may not be fair to think but I’m just venting here.

2025.01.22 19:53 ScrubSoba One of the biggest surprises when transitioning from Vermintide to Darktide was how much easier Darktide is. But also how harder it is at the same time.
So, this will take a bit of explaining, but it is a funny little thing i realized after i moved to Darktide from Vermintide.
Essentially, back in VT2, i didn't touch the higher difficulties too frequently. They were doable, just not enjoyable back then for various reasons.
And i went into Darktide with a similar mentality, but then i decided to actually try Heresy, and then finally Damnation. And i was quite surprised at how easy they were, even on Auric. And as i've been playing further from there, i've started to realize how Darktide is simultaneously way easier and harder than Vermintide.
The largest thing to me is that, while Darktide is overall way easier, things snowball really, and i mean REALLY quick. It is comparably difficult to get people back up, and things can go from 0-100 significantly faster than in VT2.
But VT2 overall feels harder, except for when things begin to go bad. Things snowball far slower, and remain more manageable when stuff goes bad.
I don't know what exactly is different about the games to cause this to happen, but i've noticed a few others share this feeling. It's an interesting observation.
