I was diagnosed with oral hsv1 nearly a decade ago and have been terrified to date or let anyone get too close. I tend to push guys away before we get intimate. Guys ask me all the time how am i still single and I just make up something like “oh im just picky” when really im terrified of telling a guy that i have oral hsv1. How can i stop being so scared to date? Love you all.

2025.01.22 20:00 TheRoaringTide Looking to buy an Air or BB gun for my Mom for Iguana home / yard invasions
So my Mom lives in South Florida, and in the last couple years her neighborhood’s been slowly getting invaded by iguanas. I’ve been asking her time and again if she wants me to buy her a pellet gun. Not necessarily for her to use, but for her son in law or grandson (he’s 16 and a half) who live down the street.
But now, she had a near-home invasion. She often leaves the front door open, with just a screen door for air circulation. Well, a big honker of an iguana got most of the way in the house and tore some of the screen out, but thankfully she chased it out with a cane. Not a cane she uses to walk, but just a cane.
She texted me that she’s ready to buy a pellet gun, and I want to bring her one. Problem is, I know nothing about them. And it’s for her, not for me. I know she’s not going hunting, she just wants to kill them when they’re around her house without the police showing up, and without damaging the house should she miss.
I’m a firearms trainer so I can teach her an airgun, but I know nothing about them. She’s also 71, so I’d like the finer points, like swapping co2 or pumping them or whatnot to be relatively easy for her. She has handled firearms before, but not regularly, and she’s never owned one.
So I’m wondering if I’m looking for a BB Pistol or an airpistol. Something to kill it at shortrange because she’s not stalking them at 50 yards. Maybe 10-20.
No idea what my budget is, but I’d love to just grab it from a Dicks or Academy or an Amazon, something like that.

how? i've been in a bit of a hump when it comes to building confidence for stuff like this for a few years now.
i'm interested in starting community college (for general studies then transferring out) and a pharmacy technician apprenticeship opportunity at my local hospital, but i fail to find the motivation to apply. this is coming from a fear of being judged for being "different" and being afraid to ask for help/accommodations in these environments.

Hello y'all,
I am scheduled for an induction on Monday the 27th and in the email they said I need a CRB placement (the balloon thing, if ya'lll don't know). I am freaking out over it because everyone I know said it was the most painful thing they've experienced (I'm getting an epidural, I'm not going natural). I wanna jump off a bridge right now thinking about it. I don't understand why this is necessary if they are going to give me drugs like pitocin to induce the labor. Why would they need to stick a balloon into my cervics to inflate a balloon. Am I able to deny this CRB placement?

So my plan was to get a bachlores degree, I'm like a credit away from being a senior but the senior project I want to do is a year long commitment. And after that get certified in massage therapy to be able to afford graduate school for dance/movement therapy. Idk I'm just having doubts. I kinda suck at talking lol. And I'm worried my social battery just isn't strong enough for it and I'm kinda getting progressively more anxious talking about other peoples mental health. I felt like I was kinda forced to be in the "therapist" role a lot as a kid and was always told I'd be good at it. I'm really enjoying learning about somatics in my bachlore degree and I very badly want to finish, with the expected graduation date of spring 2026. Idk I just feel less and less interested in becoming a therapist and more interested in massage therapy. I also still want my degree because I like know that any point in the future if I become interested in it again, I can. I just feel so worn down by life, moved like 8 times mostly because of shitty roommates and having to go back home for summer and back to college, and transferring from community college to university. I honestly just want to graduate this summer, or make it so I only have like 1-2 classes in the fall so I can also do the massage program but the senior project I want to do would be a really good opportunity. I'd be teaching a student lead class which you need 2 quarters to prepare and one quarter to teach. Idkkk
Cutting out the psyc minor will make it easier but I'll have to see.
