TLDR: why did gear and assigned skills change after new season beginning and what are the downsides of keeping on playing storyline with old character in new season?
Hi guys, I am new to Diablo 4 (few weeks of casual playing). So it may be a stupid question, but this happened first time in any game I ever played. I played Diablo 2 and 3 before, and it was business as usual - leveling up, curating my gear to slash through hordes of enemies to eventually beat the boss. Imagine my surprise today when I started playing D4, and suddenly all my gear is changed, my skill points are reassigned, basically besides class it is not my character. Why does this change mid game without my consent?š I know season changed, but I did not expect it to affect my character so much. Can I go on with the main story with my old character? If I create new character for new season, will I start the story all over again? Thank you very much for all answersš

my coach says I have potential to swim longer distances and I'm all for it bc I wanna try new things and change up things but I don't know how to swim more than 200 meters. How do I swim 800m? I can't keep tempo for a long distance as well

I just wanted to post this so that anyone newly exiting or still struggling with their exit knows that it does get better. When I first left I probably checked this subreddit 100 times a day for support and a sense of comfort. Your whole world changes, and you need something to cling onto, something to make the bad thoughts, nightmares, and trauma go away. Slowly but surely that does fade. It can take months or even years, but it will not be so important in your life once you continue really living. I stumbled across a post on my feed today of someone being scared of end times because of the US election and I thought to myself ādamn, 4-5 years ago I would have been losing my mind too.ā I would have asked myself things like āwhat if I was wrong?ā , āwhat if I made a mistakeā and all that fun stuff. But it does go away. If a meteor was predicted to hit earth tomorrow and kill us all my brain would equate that with unforeseen planetary circumstance rather than Armageddon. First Interview was no comment or couldnt remeber all the way through.
Second interview the culprit started to tell the truth and bit more. The interviewer said why are you telling me more this time around.
Unsure whether if this was a guilt trip question. But the solicitor piped up and said why does it matter.
It was clear the police seemed to want an easy conviction for a low chain drug mule who had been taken advantage for.
But it made me think what and when can a solicitor start answering questions for a defendant?

I've been playing this game since Season 6. Now I'm not gonna say "The older seasons were better, blah blah blah." There is a lot of things I love in the newer seasons that the older ones didn't have (Old Rune System for example). I just find though, that despite getting used to so many changes, like runes, like items, like the 8 different teleports. I find that this specific season has been completely unenjoyable for me.
I feel as if now adays I lose more often then not to other people's performance and play, then my own. Sure you have bad teammates and they can do really bad and you have to make up for them. I understand that. I like to keep a mindset of finding what i've could've done better in a match to then improve before I queue again. Right now, games feel as if they're determined really early on. Like 12-15 minute mark, you can see the end of a game. Not just from forfeits, but just how its going.
The point of a lot of the newer changes was to lower snowballing. I fear that its only increased drastically from last season. I play a fair bit of ADC and Mid. So my view is a bit skewed perhaps.
In the mid lane, I feel as if I have more control and can play the game and do things in the game. Still though, I feel quite a lack of self control of the end of the game.
In the bot lane, I feel useless. I could go 6/0 early on, but then get 1 shot or ran down by a 2/1 bruiseassassin. So I play safe, but then it makes me wonder "why even waste leads on me at all?" at the end the of day. Without extensive team help, a lot of ADCs feel crappy.
My winrate while playing this game has dropped by 20% starting this season, from 60 to 40. I just can't seem to win most games I queue. My team either stomps, or we get stomped, and i'm usually at the short hand of the stick.
Obviously I play a hand in my own failures, as nothing can be a pattern forever, but i've also had same talks with my friends. Who also have seen a drop in winrate and increased reliance on getting teammates who CAN play. Most of my losses are from autofilled Junglers or support on my team. Most of my victories is when it happens to my opponent. The game feels in an odd state, and its definitely caused me to play less.
Anyone else feeling the same way?

I was an on and off smoker briefly in my twenties. Longest ever was a year straight, then off and throughout about 6 years. A few months here and there. I successfully quit about 10 years ago. In that time, I havenāt craved or desired one at all. Iāve had extreme stress too. Still no desire. In the last few weeks, I have this extreme craving to smoke again. Not even just just smoke one- I have a deep missing of it. I wish I could just regularly go sit outside and smoke every other hour like my neighbor does. In all fairness I have been dealing with chronic and unavoidable relentless stress and severe burnout for over a year. I think more than anything I miss holding it, lighting it, and inhaling it. I miss telling people Iām going outside to smoke. I miss it. Why for gods sake? After a decade? Theyāre so gross, and destroy your health. Why on earth would I suddenly miss this? š³

Hey guys I've been playing build 42 on my steamdeck and the crafting menu is too big for the screen. When I open it I can see the categories on the left and the different things I can craft but the materials and craft button are off the screen to the right. I can't move the window and there doesn't seem a way to resize. I've messed around with just about every setting including changing resolution and font size but it makes no difference. So now I'm wondering if there's a mod to allow for resizable windows at all?
Loving the new build and actually living long enough to a point where I'm in a position where I want to do more then just eat canned food but this is stopping me from doing more.
Also the skills window doesn't let me scroll all the way to the bottom.

I'm not so sure, as I remember my 6-foot brother complaining about the seats and having no legroom. I was a kid, so I had no problem. Of course, like now, it depended on the type of airplane. But if you compare the seats of First Class now and then, they are much better now.

Hi everyone, my wife and I will be visiting Japan for the first time April 24-May 23. We understand that April 29-May 5 is Golden Week, so we plan to be in Tokyo for that entire time since it is better equipped to handle tourist surges.
We are interested mostly in the traditional heart of Japan including gardens, shrines, temples and natural vistas but also want to sample the best big city futuristic looking and āsensory overloadā experiences. We are āfoodiesā and want to taste the best local foods, though we wonāt have the budget for Michelin Star restaurants. Weāre happy to do hikes up to a few miles/km but not looking to do long hikes or camp. We love waterfalls and the ocean, and want to see wisteria and other flowers in bloom. We are open to plane, train, or even renting a car if it makes sense to access a more remote location. Since weāre still researching sites to see in each place, the primary purpose of this post is to get feedback from anyone willing to weigh in on our itinerary.
April 25-May 4: Tokyo. Day trips to Kamakura, Matsumoto, Fujikawaguchiko, and Yokohama
May 5-7: Hiroshima. Day trip to Miyajima
May 8-13: Kyoto. Day trips to Nara and Uji
May 14-17: Osaka. Day trip to Himeji Castle.
May 18-20: Kanazawa
May 21-23: Nikko. This could shift to the beginning of the trip if it makes more sense logistically or if thereās more than a slight chance of catching Sakura blooms then.
May 23: return to Tokyo for departure flight
It strikes me that the front end of the trip is pretty heavy on Tokyo, because of where Golden Week lands within our stay. Does it make sense for us to do Nikko first rather than last April 25-27), then add a couple days to Hiroshima and Osaka? We want at least two nights in every location so we donāt get exhausted.
I would really appreciate any feedback to help me make the trip more efficient and to allocate the right amount of time to each place. If Iām making a dumb mistake anywhere, please (gently) let me know :)
