If the storm takes out power and the Internet is affected, the shops that can open will not have their card machines operational. The last storm took out the power but the shop I work in has a generator so everything still worked, except for the card terminals, and the only way of payment was cash. I expect the same thing during the weekend, so take out cash if you can. It might be essential.

I have a few tarantulas but I’ve never had a jumper, also I just set up his enclosure I’m gonna move him as soon as I know he’s not molting!

My father passed away recently, it was and is VERY difficult.
I was surprised to inherit some money.
He always lived a bit like a monk. I wish he would have used his money to spoil himself a little bit during life. But here we are.
And this money was just spread out over normal bank accounts.
I also have a rather basic lifestyle. Because I’ve got a job that I love but that doesn’t make any money. But we have a house and everything we need really, and my question is how to best invest this, because if I ever make it to retirement, I will only have the absolute minimum pension one can get. (I think I won't be able to do the 'E' in FIRE)
Most savings that I have are on VWCE with degiro. Pretty standard, I guess.
(I also did the Belgian government bond one year with 20000 and a keyplan that worked OK, but not as well as VWCE with degiro)
Would it be best to keep something similar with maybe another ETF that’s interesting at degiro? I’m looking at (very) long term minimum risk stuff.
Hence why I’m asking it here.

I work for a small but busy law firm and I’m considered a Legal Assistant but I do paralegal work every day basically, and I don’t get billable hours. I work part-time 25-30 hrs but only make $17 per hour because of my experience. I just graduated last year and the position originally wanted 2 years of experience but the attorney said she liked me. I have worked there for 3 months and I am her only litigation paralegal and I am swamped with the amount of work I have. Mind you, I didn’t have the training like she said I would but I have been doing okay, and I know she’s been impressed.
The attorney I work for I have a great relationship with and she’s very nice but I feel taken advantage of.
Please be kind as I’m new to this field but I definitely felt like I was being used within the first month. I also have felt like she needs to hire another paralegal. Before me I am aware she had at least 2 litigation paralegals.

Thats about all I can remember about the book. I think the robed companion could sing or do some sort of skill. The only scene I remember is where said woman stabbed a dude to death through in his armpits and its his head she was carrying around.

Hi guys, so I have a question about marrow donation. I recently got told that I am a potential match, and I am going to an appointment tomorrow to get blood work done. From what I understand, it would be to donate bone marrow. I know it's selfish, but if I do get asked to donate, I am very concerned about how it will affect my health. I am a 21-year-old male, and I love running. specifically ultra marathons. I am currently training for a 50-mile race and then a 100-mile race later this year. Can anyone tell me what the recovery time for a marrow donation is like? how long until I can get back to strenuous exercise? How much risk will it be that it will negatively impact my running permanently? I would be extremely grateful for any answers and assurances. I know it's selfish of me to consider not going through with it based on this, but running is something that I love and a true bright spot in my life. I am not sure how I would do mentally if I were not able to run ultras anymore.

I work in education, in a private setting. I have hoped for a job where the work environment would be calm and straightforward, and I thought I found it. However, my coworker is a real piece of work, I can never understand if she likes me or tries to sabotage me in our bosses face. To be fair, she is clever and very hardworking, but she is also making my work life difficult for no apparent reason. Admittedly, when I first started, I made some mistakes and was forgetful because of anxiety and generally, not knowing how the place works yet. I am always forward in admitting when I am wrong, I apologize and try my best not to repeat mistakes. My coworker must think I'm dumb or something. She is always on the phone, texting with our boss and I know that they talk about me because they both mention things that were discussed via text and concern me, but never in a straightforward manner. By her suggestion, we have gone out together sometimes, drinks, movies, hanging out and even made some future plans. She even bought me a gift out of the blue, a coffee mug which she thought I would love , as she put it. I have covered for her when she needed to leave early and when she makes mistakes. She has insulted me many times, either willfully or not, however, I being the pushover that I am, don't start arguments or passive aggressive stances, since I need my work environment to be peaceful and it's just the two of us, for nine hours every day. The past few months, I noticed that she tries to micromanage me, even though she is not a manager. I don't know if the boss put her up to this or if she volunteers. She has joked about me being old (I'm 29 and she's 24), my weight, my forgetfulness (this last bit was shared with our students and made me very angry). She is constantly passive aggressive or takes offense by absolutely nothing. A few days ago, I suggested something about us all taking a day off near a national holiday, so that our workplace would have a four day holiday. She kept pushing and pushing for me to bring it to the boss, since it's my idea and she liked it. Today, we discussed it with the boss, who said no. Out of nowhere, my coworker turns to me and says "I don't know how you even thought of that, the establishment closing is not possible". I was speechless. I feel like she pushed me just so that I would look clueless. I'm considering suggesting a coffee at some point so that I could openly talk to her and voice my concerns or to ask to please be considerate. On the other hand, I think that it would be best to let it be and pay no attention to her, just to see where things go. Any suggestions?

As the title states.
The person who I play games with likes historical(ish) war games (not necessarily "war-games") that are not too complex on rules that offer a fair amount of tactical depth while individual games do not take too long a time to finish. Thus, the Undaunted series seems like a good fit for this.
Stalingrad has been ruled out because of its price, Callisto because of its theme, Reinforcements because it is an expansion, and Britain because of the lack of interconnected unit organization (fighters attack fighters, bombers attack ground targets). Thus the choice is between Normandy and North Africa.
Both look generally fine to me as relatively light games involving war. However, the glaring issue for me personally is the randomness of rolls (particularly in dictating combat), which I worry would degenerate the game into dice-chucking to determine a victor. However, it does look like both games have some ways of mitigating randomness.
Normandy appears to mitigate some randomness with the ability to spawn troops. With this, it seems like losing a control-points-based scenario from lucky pot-shots is not especially likely to occur, since you could re-spawn your troops. This could make the game a bit of a slog sometimes, but the longer run-time might help to mitigate large swings in randomness from rolls making the final outcome more likely based on smart tactical play rather than lucky pot-shots. However, given Normandy's relative symmetry between the sides, it could also ultimately degenerate into dice-chucking if neither side gets a significant tactical advantage over the other in the long run, which could be itself hard to pull off if the sides are nearly identical and the skill difference between the players is not especially great.
North Africa appears to mitigate randomness through the use of vehicles and the asymmetry of the sides. The use of vehicles gives a larger number of actions and also actions that allow for more dice, which appears to me to make successes relatively more likely. The asymmetry of the sides should also lessen the formation of tactical stalemates that can lead to dice-chucking, and more easily allow for one player, in case where both players are not greatly different in skill, to pull a clever tactical play that is harder to anticipate with the difference in the way the sides work.The main issue I can potentially see with North Africa is that since you cannot re-spawn troops, you might be quite prone to losing from lucky early-game pot-shots. While North Africa might not slog as much, the games themselves might suffer from early luck that ends the game too quickly.
Ultimately, a longer but more symmetric game can suffer from dice-chucking stalemates, while a shorter but more asymmetric game can suffer from premature lucky rolls. Between the two, I think the shorter but more asymmetric game would be less problematic since such early lucky rolls are incredibly unlikely and probably easy to mitigate against early on with less room for gridlock with the asymmetry, while slogging into dice-chucking seems much more like the norm for a longer but more symmetric game. Thus, I think I am more inclined to North Africa, but I have not played the games, so I cannot really practically tell which game is really more prone to arbitrary randomness.

It’s just highly contradicting to consider raids as endgame content when you can literally join fresh out the vault, die in 1 second and then wait for free rewards. Taking up that 4th slot also pretty much guarantees the team won’t get past stage 2 and forces us to just farm stage 1.
