Best Spyderco for on-duty EDC?
Hey everyone,
I’m a police officer 👮♀️ and a happy owner of the Spyderco Police 4 in K390.
It’s an amazing blade, but I’m looking for something shorter and easier to carry in my pocket during shifts. I still need it to handle aggressive cutting tasks, food prep, and even potential bad situations on duty.
Edge retention and cutting performance are priorities (I love K390 for this), but I also appreciate low maintenance (hence the intrigue with Magnacut).
For sharpening, I stick to a Work Sharp Field Sharpener.
Basically I’m thinking about Endela K390, Delica K390 and PM3 Magnacut.
Which of these would you recommend for on-duty EDC, and why?
Bonus if you’ve used them in a similar capacity. Thanks for your input!

I have been starting to learn game design and I am really enjoying it, but when it comes to the art I'm a little stuck at the moment. I want to create a top down pixel art game but I'm not quite sure how to get from the design I have now, to a design more fitting of a top down game. My design very well may be good for a top down game, but I wasn't sure, and of course you are your own worst critic (It can be hard not to be though). Any advice is apretiated!

I joined a local gym about 5 years ago and for the first 9 month, I minded my own business because I was just there to workout but slowly more people start approaching me and I started making friends. As time goes by I became close with a few group of people. Now, one of these friend had to move to another state and as they were starting the process to do that, they become completely different, like our friendship didn’t exist and they were just friends with me for their convenience and I approach them about it and their response wasn’t what i expected and me personally I don’t waste my time on people who are fake and are pretenders so I left them alone after the conversation. This is where problem started occurring. They started spreading rumors about me, like I wanted to have sexual relations with them, I had romantic interest in them and who knows other things I am not even aware of. None of it is true and they never had face to face conversations with me about their grievances. Now here is the problem. Some of the people I am friends with are no long friends with that person and that person no longer exist in that gym but their rumors spread with people (women) some of my close friends are friends with but those women don’t know me. I have 0 relationships with them. They only know what they heard from the person that left. To be completely honest, I have no clue what they told them. Now my close friend from that gym is throwing a house warming party and he approached me and told me, some of the woman (woman mind you don’t know me at all) don’t want me to be in that party. Now I am hurt he even asked if people have problems with each other before he send out invites because who does that and those people that don’t know me told him, they don’t feel comfortable for me being around. If I had done something worth being treated that way, I accept it but I didn’t and honestly I don’t even know how to feel about it in general and it hurts when people come between you and your friends Brother, for my side, others people inability to consider an issue as only having one side or not being complex or involving themselves Into shit that don’t concern them, It is not my problem. Their lack of understanding, comprehension or simply not caring is their issue. I know who I am as a man and how I carry myself. If you were in this position how would you handle it and what would you do in general? My friend doesn’t have ill will toward any of these but how it handled makes me feel some type of way.

2025.01.22 22:16 AncientRaig Help me understand: Why is Prop Mod 1 better than Steering Mod 1 on every single ship?
I'm aware of how Prop Mod 1 works and that the conventional wisdom is that it's always better than Steering Mod 1, but personally I struggle to understand why. Perhaps it's because I don't play a ton of high tier PvP, but to me it seems like Prop Mod 1 would only be desirable over Steering Mod 1 on ships that either have a smoke generator or have extremely high shell arcs to fire over islands that most other ships cannot. So, mainly (most) destroyers and certain cruisers (Atlanta comes to mind).
From how I understand it, Prop Mod works by decreasing the amount of time it takes for your powerplant to get to full speed, which improves acceleration from a standstill to about 1/4 to 1/2 throttle. It also MIGHT improve speed retention in turns, but I've only seen this claimed a couple times with no real evidence to back it up. What it does not do is increase deceleration, even if you throw your throttle into reverse (meaning that you have to come to a complete halt before it kicks in to speed up your powerplant's acceleration to full power in reverse), and it has a diminishing effect when going from 1/2 throttle to 3/4 or full speed.
Meanwhile, Steering Mod works fairly straightforwardly by making your rudder more responsive. It doesn't tighten your turning circle, but it does let you start changing directions more quickly. This, IMO, seems far more useful since most ships don't really... want to be stationary? Being able to start changing heading more quickly to avoid torpedoes, swing your broadside out to fire aft turrets and swing it back in more responsively, or to angle against an anticipated salvo seems more useful than... being able to get up to quarter throttle a little faster if I'm sitting still.

I recently purchased a new Speediance Gym Monster and noticed an issue. I'm curious if other users have experienced something similar. Here's what I've observed:
1. The base emits a continuous low humming noise as soon as the unit is powered on, before the fans start running.
- This hum persists as long as the power is on, separate from any fan noise.
- When powering off, there's a 15-second delay before the humming stops and the unit fully shuts down.
I believe this delay might be related to the capacitor or transformer in the base's power supply. I've recorded the noise using my iPhone placed on the base. The audio file is attached.
My main question: Is this humming noise normal for the Speediance Gym Monster?
If you own this equipment, I'd appreciate your input on whether you've noticed similar behavior. Thanks in advance for any insights!

So alt account because this guy follows me on my main but anyway, we recently started a roleplay because he replied to one of my posts anyway we get to talking and he seems really cool and stuff right so i'm like yeah i'd be happy to roleplay with you. (I'm new to roleplaying and was happy to have someone who like my ideas and wanted to rp)
The first thing he dose it take control of the rp i am fine with that because I didn't have much of an idea I only had an oc but he made me change things about them because they weren't what he wanted
Now I rp as an escape and as a way to help with my hyper fixations, anyway now that we started he's using terms like I and you when referring to our oc's ??? As in we'd be talkin OOC about our oc's and he's go 'I do this then you do this '.I don't know if this is normal in any first person rp, but I really don't like it because it makes me think that he's talking about himself and not the oc???
In the rp were doing is first person (Im not a big fan but didn't want to let this guy down cause he seemed really excited) and in the rp he is using like I and you when referring to the characters, i don't know if this is normal but it sometimes gets to me because it'll be 'i do this and stare at you' and it makes me feel like he's talking to me OOC (I think this just might be me being strange)
Another thing, I think one is smaller and may be nothing but I still wanted to bring it up. He ignores my like limits a bit. Like i'll say I don't feel comfy doing something and he'll say just give it a shot i don't care if you can't write it right? it still makes me uncomfortable and if I bring it up again he says that if I really don't like it then I can leave it but then he'll proceed to bring it up in the rp so i'm forced to write it.
I don't know if i'm over reacting and this is something normal in rp but I just needed to here what other's though of this. Please tell me if this is considered normal?
