2025.01.23 00:05 ematlack Random disconnects with Dell S2721QS
Hey all! I recently bought a Dell S2721QS 4K monitor to replace one of my two Acer S271HL 1080p monitors. I have been experiencing CONSTANT disconnects with the new monitor and seemingly the only solution is setting the monitor to 30Hz, which is obviously unusable. I can drive the monitor at any resolution, but the second I select 60Hz it freaks out. It won't stay connected for more than a few seconds and just shows "No Signal." I have tried the following:
- Replacing the cable / swapping ports with the other monitor
- Running just the monitor by itself
- Running the monitor from my laptop. I can't drive 4K 60Hz with this device, but I did try 4K 30Hz and 1080p 60Hz and they both work.
- Updating motherboard, intel graphics, display drivers, and windows
- Complete clean re-install of the Intel graphics using DDU
- Dell S2721QS via HDMI
- Acer S271HL via HDMI-->DP
- Asus Z690-A Motherboard
- Intel i7 13700K w/ UHD 770 Graphics
- Windows 11 Build 10.0.22635.4800

I installed Lineage in my old Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite. Without ODIN on M2 MacOS arm64 (btw huge thanks to this Heimdall arm64 ). Lot of tutorials and videos and almost 10 failed tries.
first i got stressed over android version, stock os , vendor os warnings on official installation guide . so i learned how to flash to stock os , then i again updated and downgraded, stumblesd around odin/ parallels on macos for windows apps/ firmware confusions etc etc.
the official guide helped but then i found this tutorial and this video .
i discovered lineageos 2 days ago when google suddenly restricted my TASKER app for which i paid ₹500 , on a pixel 9 ,which is their flagship (other than being unethical)
foss and repositories is the way. long live linus torvalds and gnu.org
