So for context, I'm an international student who will be starting in September.
I'm going to get a new phone soon, and while I've always used Androids, my friend said I should get an iPhone because that's what is more popular for UK students. She said people will "look down on me" if I use anything other than an iPhone.
I originally wanted to get a Pixel 9 or a Samsung S24, but now I'm not so sure. I enjoy using Android and I currently don't use any Apple devices, so I don't see the point in getting an iPhone.
Still, I can't help but wonder if she's right. Is it really social suicide to use an Android in the UK?
(P.S. I'll probably still get an Android regardless. I just need to know if it's going to cost me my social life).

Nunca fomos de sair juntos pois ele tinha namorada(namoro acabou tem uns 6 meses) e eu não queria ficar segurando vela, de um tempo pra cá ele sempre tenta me envolver nos planos dele me convida para passeios o que acaba me deixando incomodada. I don’t understand why people will resort to posting online to ask other people things like ‘is this player good?’… try them for yourself!! SBCs have loan players. Tradable players can be resold if you don’t like them & un-tradable.. you have them, so may as well try them. Or use for fodder.. so many sheep in this group it’s unbelievable, if you have a sweaty team and are in div 5,6,7.. stop crying about it on groups. Change your settings about, trial and error. FIND THINGS FOR YOURSELF. Personally I can’t wait for TOTY to be over so people stop posting pics of packs and players. Use FUTWIZ and FUTBIN. I’d love to see clips of free kicks, goals, etc.. but so many kids want tips on how to upgrade their team.. doesn’t matter how much you upgrade your team if your trash 😂 please stop cluttering the feeds with irrelevant stuff. Bring back the clips!!! Don’t blame the game or servers because you have a skill issue 🙃 learn to move your keeper, predict game play. You’re the issue not the game.
And if you play rush, PASS THE FUCKING BALL, thankyou!

I’m not sure how to handle this tax-wise. I was on California Medi-Cal in 2024 and completely forgot to report changes to income that I am sure would have disqualified me from the program for at least half the year. I’ve since reported the change and will try to speak to a case worker tomorrow to see how I can best remedy things. Tax-wise, though, I believe a 1095B will be sent to the IRS, which will show I had Medi-Cal coverage all year. This will look funny since my reported income will be higher than the qualified income. What can I do to correct this? I could also mark that I had no coverage, which will trigger a $900 state fine in California, which I don’t mind paying.

But then why is EVERY commercial with a Bravolebrity the most awkward, stiff thing ever? Like Melissa and Joe’s pasta sauce commercial cringe factor at 111!!—after so many years of "acting" semi believably on the show suddenly it’s complete amateur hour when they’re reading lines. WHY IS IT SOOOO BAD LMAO?!
(Maybe they’re actually such skilled and seasoned thespians that they’re deliberately pretending to be bad actors in real acting situations—just to make people like me think exactly this!!????)

I'm currently enrolled in Multi, Datastructures, UW, PHYS1402, and principles of econ. I'm a relatively slow reader and writer, and I'm worried UW (and econ) will take up a lot of my time. I'm also starting an internship this semester, and want to do well on that. Free time is a consideration too because I want to build an app and have time to explore.
This would put me at 30 credits by the end of the year, so 2 credits below the recommended avg amount for SEAS. Does it make sense to do this?

2025.01.23 02:34 Tornado1100 Need advice on selecting the right MCU for a project involving BLE
I'm starting a project in which, in essence, I am required to read a sensor over UART and transmit the findings to the android (and iOS) phones via Bluetooth. I've never worked on BT or BLE before but have ample experience in other STM32 peripheral development. Therefore I've got 2 choices, 1 is to use STM32WB MCU for the entire system, or 2 to use STM32L4 along with Lyra P (UART to preconfigured BLE) module.
I want to seek advice from fellow developers on which way is the best in terms of easy and fast firmware development, robust design and future improvements (and additional whatever points of consideration that could be in embedded systems development). Kindly also provide where I could encounter limitations in the design if I select the either of STM32WB or Lyra P.
Another thing is, when I opened the MCU selector for the STM32WB series, it gave a way too long a list of the choices, how do you select an optimal MCU for a project.
