2025.01.23 02:31 Sonotropism An iPhone 16 Pro Max Case Comparison

After upgrading from my Pixel 6 Pro with its cracked screen to the iPhone 16 Pro Max, I set out to find a case with right balance between slimness, grip, and protection. As an anesthesiologist, I often carry my phone in loose scrub pockets, and it tends to aggressively find its way to the hard OR floor while I'm placing lines, crawling under surgical drapes, etc. Unfortunately, finding a case small enough to permit comfortable one-handed use but protective enough to prevent cracking another screen proved difficult. To atone for my abuse of the Amazon Prime return policy and sins against carbon neutrality while demoing these cases, I've offered a list of quick reviews below. Hopefully someone finds this helpful and avoids similarly ordering far too many cases.
1. Apple Silicone This case is the Apple standard, offering a solid balance of grip and protection. While not the most rugged, it would likely survive minor falls. It can feel slightly sticky/oily at times and picks up some lint. The interior corners have extra padding, and the buttons work perfectly.

Protection: Moderate
Bulk: Moderate
Grip: High
Issues: None

2. Dengduoduo Shock-Proof Military Grade At only $4, this case is impressively sturdy with thick top and bottom TPU lips. However, it feels bulky, which compromises one-handed use.

Protection: High
Bulk: Large
Grip: Moderate
Issues: Bulky and lacks MagSafe.

3. Gonez Silicone This thick silicone case feels more protective than Apple’s but is overly grippy and hard to remove from jean pockets. The silicone around the buttons is flimsy, reducing durability. Includes screen and camera protectors, which I didn’t try.

Protection: High
Bulk: Large
Grip: Extreme
Issues: Too bulky, grips pockets, and the camera button lip feels cheap.

4. Spigen Ultra Hybrid T A great all-around case with grippy TPU edges and excellent button performance. While the corner "air cushions" seem too small to do much, the TPU material feels robust. I didn’t love the clear look but appreciated the tight fit.

Protection: Moderate
Bulk: Moderate
Grip: Moderate+
Issues: None

5. Spigen Enzo Aramid A very solid, impact-resistant case with a good camera button cutout design. However, it feels slippery in the hand. Very similar to the Benks Armor Pro (below), which I preferred slightly.

Protection: High
Bulk: Moderate
Grip: Low
Issues: Too slippery.

6. ESR Silicone This case has excellent grip and a useful fold-out camera guard/stand, but its added weight and size make it less convenient than others like its Apple Silicone counterpart. Its grippiness also makes it harder to pull from pockets.

Protection: High
Bulk: Moderate+
Grip: High
Issues: Slightly thicker and wider than desired. The cutout for the camera button could be better.

7. Pitaka Ultra Slim This extremely thin case feels amazing to hold but offers minimal protection beyond scratch resistance. Corner lips barely prevent the screen from touching surfaces when face-down.

Protection: Minimal
Bulk: Minimal
Grip: Moderate
Issues: Likely provides minimal drop protection.

8. Benks Armor Pro Similar to the Spigen Enzo Aramid but slightly less slippery and perhaps a hair thinner. It has good corner air gaps for impact protection and feels great overall. The prominent camera ring has a bit of an edge that allows it to rest against the index finger during one handed use.The buttons are a bit mushy, but this is otherwise a clear winner.

Protection: High
Bulk: Moderate
Grip: Moderate
Issues: Mushy volume/action buttons.

9. Torras Magnetic Slim This slim and sleek case offers some screen protection with raised corners but lacks sufficient drop protection. It feels slippery and slightly cheap.

Protection: Low
Bulk: Low
Grip: Low
Issues: Low grip and minimal drop protection make it a risky choice.

Recommendations The standouts are:

Apple Silicone: The best balance of grip, bulk, and protection.
Benks Armor Pro: Offers excellent protection with moderate bulk.
Spigen Ultra Hybrid T: A great all-around choice, especially if you don't mind the clear design.

The Pitaka Ultra Slim and Torras Magnetic Slim are less protective and better suited for low-risk environments.

Age :26 .5 ,Male, no smoking no drinking.
So I think I have auditory hallucinations. But over the last 6-7 months there were 4 instances where I heard something that wasn't there. So just now i experienced the 4th instance where I thought my parents were talking in our balcony (although I wasn't able to determine surely if they were my parent's voice but it felt like one and the talking sounded very weak like it felt just for a second, it didn't sounded clear) when I go to the balcony there was no one and they was sleeping . When I'm writing this again I once again heard something similar like my father talking a bit to someone and when I asked him he said he wasn't talking( it was still a faint type of sound , it sounded like my father).
.(Mind you I live in india and in a house where its easy to hear neighbours talking so maybe I've been hearing these guys talking)
The last two instances were where I have fragmented and irregular sleep , I heard my brother shouting when I kinda woke from my sleep and when I asked him if he shouted he said no and other instance where I heard someone opened our main door gate (although I asked my father that he went to toilet so maybe I've heard that sound)
And the first instance is when my mom was sleeping in her room with her gate locked inside and we were talking amd when I was done talking amd started to go back to my room I heard my Dad saying something to my mother (both inside sleeping) just for a second.
Do I have started to develop schizophrenia or what is it then? I'm 26.5 yrs old. Do hallucinations symptoms develop gradually or fast?

My 5 year old son has been dealing with the Flu B for around 8-9 days now and has had consistent 103-104 fevers, and he has been very suspectibleto illnesses hitting him hard with fevers being that high.
