Greetings! I am making my own and very first shell extension and I would like to add a forth button to each window's titlebar next to "minimize", "maximize", "close". The closest I was able to get is getting window actors and so I got the window position from which I then "calculated" position for my button. This approach is dumb I realize that. (windows can moves and my button won't, some folks have titlebar buttons on the left...)
I know a Meta class/namespace is responsible for the Wayland/X11 operations, but I can't find anything about window titlebar in the documentation. Meta.Window nor Meta.WindowActor have any "append_child" method or anything similiar that would help me.
I am complete noob here, I do web dev and this is my first rodeo in gnome development space. I don't know if it is actually possible to modify the titlebar as much as I would like.

3rd week sober and man am i feeling way better comparing the terrible withdrawals i had to now. Brain functioning a lot quicker, still have brain fog here and then but it’s SLOWLY going away. Eating a lot healthier, and being more productive just need to figure out what helps with this brain fog because i feel it hits at the worst time also have had depersonalization ever since i first started smoking and still have it i’m sure there’s no cure for that but man does it suck. I’m sorry if this type of post isn’t allowed here, but I’m desperate.
I had a job as a chemist for the US Government, but was let go today due to the onslaught of executive orders. (I was on a mandatory new-hire probation and my agency head decided to let all probationary employees from my division go to hopefully spare some cuts elsewhere.) I’m obviously devastated, but I have to find work to support my wife and her medical treatments. She has Hodgkin’s lymphoma, which fortunately is not a death sentence as long as treatment is consistent.
So, I’m hoping some of you fine folks out there might know of some positions that would hire a PhD inorganic/organometallic chemist with a lot of computational experience. I graduated just barely over a year ago with my degree from a large R1 state school and have ~10 publications (3 first author and 1 co-first author). I’ve googled “chemist jobs” in every major metropolitan area in my state and adjacent states and looked on LinkedIn and Handshake. I did not find many positions for which a PhD in organometallic chemistry would be competitive. I’m not really sure how to search every open position in the country (because at this point I’m willing to relocate if necessary to gain employment), so I’m asking in earnest for help from kind strangers like you. If you know of any positions that might be available, I’d love to hear about them.
