I try to compensate with little perks like lounge access. One of my favorites is the AMEX lounge at LaGuardia. Mainly for the bacon, deep fried french toast, and the espresso machine. Today was my first day flying after the winter break and now on triz, I had no desire for the deep fried french toast. Used to love that deep fried french toast and would think about it the night before my flight. Today, nothing, no desire and it actually looked like a bad food choice....Here was my breakfast. Only made it through the blueberries and yougert. Coffee was still good. Today is my shot day when I get home and I will still okay this morning. this is the most pointless question/story ever. and I know I am the maniac here. buckle up.
Last year, my (29f) family and i went to Texas roadhouse in a certain western suffolk neighborhood. it was fine, but we had a waiter wearing a shirt that said, "I LOVE my job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" and he asked us, "how's the food? tasty ?" and it was asked in a way that made me think my food was poisoned. it obviously wasn't poisoned, but my aunt and I looked at each other weirdly because it just seemed uncomfortable.
for context, "t%sty" is one of those words that really grinds my gears the same way some people HATE the word, "moist". i don't know why. yes, I'm the raving lunatic in this situation.
well, fast forward to this year. my boyfriend's (29m) birthday was yesterday and he suggested 3 weeks ago we go to Texas roadhouse. i asked not to go to the same one i'd been to a year prior, and he said we didn't have to go to that one, no begging or pleading needed. my dad even told me there is a 0% chance that waiter would be there again a year later with the word "t×sty" up his sleeve, ready to use it again.
lo and behold, due to my bf and I planning his birthday dinner poorly and prioritizing IKEA first, we ended up in a bit of a time crunch and agreed on going to the same Texas roadhouse I went to last year. we sit down, order an appetizer, start eating it, and our waitress asks us, "how's your food? taste good?"
now, this wasn't necessarily her saying "t&sty", but at that rate she may as well have said it. i felt like my brain was in a combat zone. my bf knew of my prior TRH trauma and looked at me bug-eyed, waiting for me to crash out.
she asked AGAIN when our entrees came out!
"how're we doing, everything taste good?"
so what's the deal? do the waiters and waitresses get taken out back by their general managers like old yeller if they don't say "t@sty" and other variations of the word to people dining in? is this only common for one specific location?
tldr: insane person goes out to eat and hears a specific word several times at a specific restaurant and needs a straight jacket.

I’m just past halfway in AB. I didn’t know to read it in any particular order so i’ve already read the first 3 books. I KNOW Sam’s ending. I was hopeful that knowing what happens to him would make it less gut wrenching but I don’t think that’s going to be the case. It won’t be a surprise but lord I am obsessed with their relationship now.
Initially I was bummed to have to stop the story I was in to go back to AB. HoF was such a masterpiece (even though I am team Chaol which i’ve learned is an unpopular opinion) but I am fully invested in Sam/Celaena now. I am also very excited to get a feel for what Arobynn is like considering I assume she’s going back to Rifthold to him in QoS.
Did anyone else read AB after HoF? Is this an okay order?
ALSO, I want to know if/why you did the tandem read & if you think it was worth it. I think I’m going to try it, but I want to know if you think it’s worth it.

Super Earth has lost my loyalty. I have seen too much to serve them any more. I now serve the people, and ask where I should go first.
I am a solo bot diver, able to take on missions at any difficulty, though my preferred ratings are between challenging and suicide mission (inclusive). Those give me the highest impact while still being manageable for a high degree of success and efficiency. I don't know much about fighting the bugs or squids, but I can manage. However, I know what I'm good at, and as a veteran of the Creek, I'm good at spilling oil.

I’m in a condo building with four heat pump units sitting directly over my space. The noise from these units is about to drive me insane. I have never had a heat pump before and don’t know what sound limit is normal. I used a decibel app and am getting readings between 60-70 in my bedroom when these monsters are on. Is this normal? I can also feel the vibration when sitting on my couch. We are in the Carolinas and it’s usually not as cold as it has been the past week. But I also hear it in the summer. 1. What’s a normal indoor sound level? 2. Any advice on reducing the noise? Thanks in advance.

I recently had a terrible experience playing at Breaking Sound. A Mighty Lamb Production is literally an organisation that's setup to scam artists. I was contacted to play and their conditions was that I would invite 20 people. I told the booker Emma Spore that I could only guarantee 10 people and she agreed to it. In the end, I sold 12 tickets and they have refused to pay me, even after agreeing that it was okay. Her defense is that she agreed to let me play on the show and not to pay me. These guys operate a "Pay to Play" business model with hidden charges to sabotage the artist from selling tickets, hence they keep all the proceeds. THIS IS A SCAM!!! AVOID THEM!!!
