Hi everyone,
I recently ran my first Traveller session, and it was a blast! My group absolutely loved it, and I’m excited to keep the momentum going. That said, while I feel confident in running roleplay-heavy campaigns (which is more my strength), I’m still struggling with creating combat encounters in Traveller. Even with the resources provided, I don’t feel like I fully grasp how to balance or design them effectively.
The campaign I’m running is homebrew: the players are on a ship heading to the edge of the known sector in the Milky Way. This setup makes it relatively easy to insert side quests or modules as they explore new locations.
Here’s where I need help: Most of my players have focused heavily on combat abilities in their character creation, so I’d like to include more traditional sci-fi scenarios that mix combat with exploration. Whether it’s a derelict space station, a mysterious planet, or something else, I’m looking for modules that include:
- Quality, pre-designed combat encounters
- Some exploration elements (space stations, planets, alien ruins, etc.)
- A structure that doesn’t require too much effort to adapt to a homebrew setting (i am quite flexible though, so aslong the scale is not too big i think it should be not a problem)

I am a 52 year old ct resident ..who is an addict that had 6 years clean w the help from suboxone that relapsed 2 years ago and I am so scared to die in a state facility ct rehab barely funded just a number in and out w no real help for sustenance I dont have many good years left but I want them to be meaningful and memorable and repair some of the years of damage my addiction has done to my already suffering children who I see the way they used to look at me and how they do now .. I have been filling out grant applications telling my story begging for anything different outside of ct just to get thru the end and hear well its 3000 a day for this level of care or do you have 20k yes I have a credit card or 2 left I could max out and go bk to that lifestyle to pay them when I get done but I want to wash clean of it i want more then anything to have my only granddaughter my oldest was pregnant with when my youngest lost her life at 17 in a car accident and promised she would never know that nana who missed her chorus assembly last week and was so belittled and in that omg state get high its even later omg its starting now and miss it repeat of their childhood to have one blessing in this lifetime to not have to walk thru yet another paper gown very unhealthy state facility that does nothing for the ptsd from years of abuse that life started that supersedes any worth it happy life to fear and gut wrenching paranoia im always going to be an addict self medicating fear mental inadequacies and auto pilot for my last 35 years of life negating pregnancy and a few years here and there ..pls if anyone knows how I can get info for any place out of ct a grant or paid for by beautiful people who believe anything is possible with the right tools and a hand up to stand up anything that will not kill me and make my children and grandbaby have the mama and nana they so desperately need and so i can also have peace pursuing my dream i will make come a reality to sustain my family for generations as i am not a slouch never have been just need a tip i am going past my due date i almost oded 2 weeks ago this isnt the end of my life no way i am here to help people as my oldest is a detox nurse head detox nurse I may add and we all excel but this one thing is bringing us to our knees i dont want to be the succubus anymore pls help me change my families story so I can help others as well ..did I mention I have done every program and detox in ct 5xs over including 5 jail terms and here I am ..i will only do good things trust me this is an investment for future addicts who will benefit from my recovery as well ...pls pls pls help me
