Hi all,
I have an (undergraduate) MA Linguistics from Edinburgh and 3 YoE at Amazon in a GenAI related role. Is it worth it to get an MSc in something more related to GenAI if I want to pursue that career path, or do you reckon this wouldn't provide more than my industry experience already does?
I'm also considering an MSc because I just love research and would probably seek to do a PhD afterwards.

I have a brushstroke plant in a self watering pot that is having issues with the leaves curling and getting very crunchy, I’ve clipped those leaves off but you can see all of the stems where the leaves used to be. It doesn’t seem to be because of overwatering, the only other thing I can think of is the lack of humidity, my house is about 25-35% during the winter. The plant is in a well lit room with a standard light bulb pointed at it about 6ft away.

2025.01.23 16:52 Rye_is_Learning How to stop my CNC files from surfacing? Did I even say that right?
 | Gonna admit off the bat I’m a noob to Fusion, CNCs, and Reddit, please go easy on me. I recently bought a CNC (Genmitsu 4040 pro) and some of the first projects I’d like to accomplish involve cutting objects out (kind of like a water-jet cut). Ive been playing around in foam and having generally good success getting files to cut the way I designed them, however I have one major problem — Every file i send to my cutter gets planed down about a mm or 2 before the file actually starts making any of its designed cuts. You can see in these photos of the foam there’s always a recessed boarder, however in my fusion file (see photo) it’s not an intended part my design. When I hit manufacture and simulate the cut, the “planing” is included in the steps. It’s not like my fusion is going rogue, I just don’t know how to remove that initial step. The “planing” is adding a lot of extra time to the cut and is ultimately undesired anyways. Any advice? I was diagnosed with CLL on December 4, 2024. My platelets have been in the 70,000-88,000 range since September 2024 barring when I had a sinus infection (dropped to 55,000). At my appointment on January 22, 2025, my doctor said she wanted me to begin treatment'soon.' She is getting the medication authorized through my insurance company now. I'm looking for any advice/insight from others who have been treated with BTK medications. I'm 58 and scared of what I'm facing. Thank you.

What are your favorite fics showing Snarry (or Snarriet, I like both) from other characters' perspectives? Especially if they're just finding out and are disapproving and/or shocked, and especially if they're Sev's age or older. So like, Sirius, Remus, Lily, James, McGonagall, etc. The main thing I'm looking for is that the reaction is realistic and they don't come to terms with it too easily, even if they can't stop them from being together. (The Remus and Minerva POV chapters in Pacify are a good example.)
A couple months back, someone was trying to find a fic like this from Remus's POV in the main HPslash sub, and I was interested enough to keep checking the thread, but no one ever replied. I've been thinking about it since then, though, so I thought I'd ask. (Yes, I've already read and loved The White Road.)
If you can't think of any, I'm also interested in fics from Snape or Harry's POV that center around people discovering their relationship and reacting realistically to it.

The share auto drivers operating between Guindy metro and Porur are even worse than the regular auto drivers. You’d wonder if the passengers are the ones getting paid to travel, given how rude they are.
These autos at best legally can carry 7 people, these drivers cram in up to 12 people. Worst part is, they'll have two unstable plastic chairs or a wooden table at the back for two people to sit, which shake constantly, making it extremely unsafe to sit there.
In the middle row, that's a three seater, ends up squeezing in a fourth, leaving everyone uncomfortable. In the front, one person sits in the passenger seat, while another is awkwardly stuffed behind the gear. If you decide to find another auto due to the lack of space, the drivers won’t let you board a different one.
I wonder why these autos aren't getting as much criticism as regular autos. Daily commutes from Guindy to the office have become a nightmare due to these conditions.
Any regular share auto commuters in this route? What's your experience

I just finished this read yesterday. Karen Armstrong is a British author and commentator known for her books on comparative religion. She has written extensively about Christianity, Islam, and Judaism, and her works are well received by scholars and practitioners alike, suggesting she is well-researched and knowledgeable in these fields.
This book is a bit different from her other writings. From the GoodReads blurb:
In this short but deeply powerful book, the bestselling historian of religion Karen Armstrong re-sacralizes nature for modern times. Drawing on her vast knowledge of the world's religious traditions, she vividly describes nature's central place in spirituality across the centuries. In bringing this age-old wisdom to life, Armstrong shows modern readers how to rediscover nature's potency and form a connection to something greater than ourselves.What I enjoyed most about this book is its accessibility (short and engaging). She introduces sacred perspectives of nature from many different religious angels including Christianity, Confucianism, and Buddhism. Her analysis of the terms and concepts from these different branches is exceptionally communicated, easy to grasp for those who may not have a strong foundation in religious studies. Most importantly, she includes some banger poetry and readings from each of these practices, and I ma inclined to buy the book purely for easy access to these readings in my collection. If anyone can suggest a collection of nature-themed poetry from different parts of the world and history, I would be indebted to you.
However, her research is anything but comprehensive. There is no mention of druidry or European pagan practices that I recall, and I don't think she ever mentions first people spiritual practices like that of Native Americans. This is probably a good thing, as it acknowledges the boundaries of her knowledge in this massive arena and strictly defines the utility of this book for readers to determine if it is a good fit or not. It seems to be targeted towards practitioners of modern popular religions in hopes to broaden their perspective on the sanctity of nature.
Still, it was fascinating to learn how all these different religions across millennia inevitably come to the similar conclusions regarding the divine aspect of nature. Terminologies and specificities are distinct, of course, but she ties the threads together exceptionally well.
She reads the audiobook version herself, which is always a treat. I would highly recommend it for anyone interested in world religions.
