2025.01.23 18:51 Sad_Firefighter_5048 Mechanic nearly killed family member after ‘fixing’ their car (Wales)
One of my family members had their car fixed by a local mechanic and the guy really fucked up. Please bear with as I know nothing about cars but he used screws that were too small (used grease to squeeze them on) and when they were driving their front wheels on the car nearly came off entirely. They went to the mechanic a few weeks ago and had to take the car back and this happened. The mechanic is trying to charge them more money. If I get more details of the work I’ll update.
I was wondering who do they report this to and what legal steps. One person I spoke to suggested to report to the local council and one suggested even going to the police. I was just wondering if anyone had more advice. Family members are really shaken up because the front of the car nearly came off.

I'm sure I'm going to get a LOT of shit and downvotes for this. I don't care.
My kids go to public elementary school at a suburb in the Bay Area of California.
Both their classes (2nd and 3rd grade) are currently overrun with kids on IEP plans. These kids are allowed to do whatever the hell they want because they are have disabilities and problems regulating behavior. I regularly volunteer in the classroom twice a week so I have seen all this first hand.
One kid is allowed to go outside and play football with his aide whenever he feels "disregulated." So basically he is outside playing all the time. Another is allowed to just blurt out whatever thing is on his mind. He says fun things like, "I'm gonna shoot you" and "I'm gonna kill you." Another brings toys to class and gets to "fidget" all day ... ie play with spinners, mini-footballs, etc. Another is allowed to regulate his emotions by playing games on his Chromebook, sometimes the blurter gets to do the same thing just so he will shut up for 5 minutes so the teacher can do her lesson.
The other students see all this and basically don't want to work:
"Why does Michael get to play games and I have to do this worksheet?"
"Why does Natalie get to go outside and play? I want to go outside."
"Why can't I bring my stuffy to class?"
So much whining. None of them want to do their work and I can't say I blame them. And I know that some of these little assholes are amping up their behavior so they can go outside/play/etc. There is literally NO consequences. They all will pass the grade and get sent on to the next teacher. If anything, it seems the school REWARDS them for being disruptive! You get more attention from the teacher and you get to go outside! Oh and you get your own aide to play with!
None of these stupid ass kids should be in school. Not one. They should all have their own class so the students who actually value learning can LEARN.
It's getting to the point where I am looking into homeschooling or private school for my kids. Just so they will actually learn something.

You: Ideally you are also nerdy type of a girl who likes to read and write long messages as much as I do, or even more. You are educated and communicative and aware how little actually we know about world and ourselves. When I say educated, that doesn't necessarily mean formal education though, and our learning doesn't stop when we finish the uni. It will be with us on the whole journey. You have curios mind and like to wonder and learn with an open mind about various topics. It is important to be able to think about world beyond just you and this very moment in history. Hopefully you have this attitude towards learning as well.
I don't expect you to write every day or when you don't feel like it, take your time and write when you are fully concentrated on the message without rushing it. Expect the same from my side, because I always choose quality over quantity.
Regarding physical appearance I don't have a type because it depends of the girl: some girls better wear long hair some girls better wear short hair, same goes for the hair color, different height/weight etc. Just be positive, easy going, ddf, no smoker and hwp.

As I've mentioned in previous posts, I'm taking some courses through Modern States to gain CLEP credits and return to college. One thing I struggle with when it comes to self-paced learning is the feeling that I'm not going fast enough, not doing enough, not making enough process, etc.
I want to know how many hours a day or week do you dedicate to learning?
For me, I work 32 hours a week, 4 days a week. I also do freelance art commissions to help me pay the bills where my job is lacking, and I occasionally do unpaid work for animated short films to showcase on my portfolio. I'm also trying to aim to be more physically active and overall healthier, as well as have more of a social life, and still like to have time for the occasional video game with friends. I'm struggling to find a balance for all of this that doesn't leave me feeling overwhelmed. I've got ADHD, but I'm medicated for it, but it still adds a bit to the struggle. I also try to get some studying done at work when it's slow.
Once I wrap up my work on this short film, I don't plan to pick up work on another for a while, and I'm probably going to close up shop on my commissions to focus on pre-made art (think, prints and stickers, sculptures and the like) to allow more time for studying since pre-made art doesn't have the same kind of deadline that commissions does.
There have definitely been days where I've considered skipping the studying, and a few I have, but for the most part I've been forcing myself to do it even when I don't want to since I know it's good for my future.
Anyway, I'd love to hear some of y'all schedules so I can consider ways to alter mine until I find a groove that works better for me. Thanks!

I typically have 0 issue recording any of the other games I play but for some reason it will detect the game and everything, but when I press F3 to save a clip it doesn’t save anything, I’ve tried custom settings, I’ve tried reinstalling, I’ve tried default recording settings, I’ve checked my in game keybinds to make sure there weren’t any conflicting F3 actions. I’m lost on what to do and would like any suggestions
