You guys know what I’m talking about? Lift up using up and triangle, then doing a full square combo. They used to drop all the way down but now they move like 2ft and recover 3 ft in front of me. I mean it makes sense why it got nerfed bc it got you stuck in recovering, but just the distance is odd that’s all.

2025.01.23 20:50 Hopeful-Helicopter24 How to convince parents that leasing is financially worse than buying a beater?
I recently graduated college. I work from home and live with my parents. My parents REALLY want me to lease a car because it will be new, clean, safe, and all maintenance will be covered. However, I don't understand how paying $12,000 to $15,000 over three years for a car I can only drive 10k-15k miles a year is a good idea.
For example, I can find an early-2000s used Toyota Matrix for under $4000 on FB. Assuming it needs a generous $3k worth of work, plus $500 in maintenance costs per year, it still doesn't even come close to the cost of leasing.
I also don't want to be limited in the number of miles I can drive. I want to have a life... go to the gym 5x a week, meet up with friends, do road trips, and commute if I end up finding another job that requires me to be in an office. I know that if I lease, staying below the mileage limit will always be in my head. Am I missing something or does leasing suck?

Hi! I wanted to make this for everyone to answer as many questions as I can about the interview process based on my experience. Just wanted to note that there's a chance the experience won't be the same for everyone.
Timeline: Applied - 10/21/24 OA recieved - 12/04/24 OA completed - 12/10/24 Interview invite - 01/09/25 Interview - 01/23/25 Final decision - TBD
Prep material: - Used LC to primarily cover problems/DSA I wasn't too confident in - Watched Youtube videos to help explain what I learned - Read Amazon LPs and came up with stories that could relate to multiple LPs so I have less stories to memorize
How my interview went: time spent: 70 minutes total (my end of interview questions made it go over but he didn't seem rushed)
I had about 5-10 minutes of just chatting and getting to know my interviewer. I mentioned a personal project I was working on so he asked me about my DB ideas for that time and mentioned a bit about courses I took previously. We then dove into 2 behavioral questions, I answered both and related them back to LPs and he asked follow-up questions as needed. About 30 minutes into my interview, I began the technical section. The question was a bit confusing even with clarification. I spoke through my entire process and I stopped to clarify stuff, especially when he mentioned he didn't understand why I did something. I mentioned a lot of the time and space complexities. I would've categorized this question as a LC medium. Finally, at the end, I got to ask a couple questions that I had both about the internship itself and potentially how long it would take.
Overall the experience was positive overall, but I am a bit uncertain of the outcome, but I plan to update when I get back if I got an offer or not!

Last night, you found me again. It wasn’t the first time, and I hope it won’t be the last. The details are hazy this time, but I woke up with a smile painting my lips.
We were in a cozy, colonial two-story house on the beach, and though someone was trying to get in, it wasn’t frightening. It felt playful, like a group of friends playing a game of hide-and-seek. I remember giggling as I ran up the stairs to find a hiding spot, knowing deep down it was pointless, you’d always find me, like I’m your open book.
Later, you made us food, something simple and comforting. We ate together in the little alcove at the top of the stairs, with the sunlight streaming in from the open window. A sea breeze lulling in and softly kissing our skin. a spot so intimate it felt like it existed just for us. I leaned against your chest, laughing at whatever was on the TV, feeling completely at ease in your arms.
Then the house shifted, dreams are funny that way. Suddenly, we were in a museum, one that felt like it came straight out of ‘Night at the Museum’. It was dark and empty, closed to the world, but for us, it was alive. We explored and laughed like kids on a grand adventure. You, as always, were the embodiment of pure joy and safety, a perfect blend of freedom and belonging.
I wish I could meet you in real life. I don’t know who you are or if you even exist outside the walls of my dreams, but you feel so real to me. Maybe you’re out there somewhere, walking through your own life, not yet aware that someone is dreaming of you.
Until then, I’ll keep waiting, hoping to see you again, if not in this world, then at least in my dreams.

I want to choose the one that will be most helpful for my data engineering career long term (I am interested in DE and want to grow in this role), as well as the one that will have a better chance at return offer + (L5/IC4 - basically a level higher than entry-level) because I have couple years of related experience.
Background:
- 3 YOE as Solutions Architect at Google (1.5 YOE specifically as Data Cloud SA)
- Currently 1st Year Masters student
- Location Preference - New York
- Career goal - Data Engineering (infrastructure/pipeline focus)
- $8500/month + $2600/month relocation

- Given my interest in data infrastructure/pipelines over analytics engineering (dashboards, etc.), which role would be better aligned?
- What are the return offer rates at both companies? For someone with my YOE, is L5/IC4 possible? I've seen new grads with experience get Amazon L5 - is this possible at Meta too?
- Can Amazon internships be deferred to Fall?
- I’m an international student - does Meta have any restrictions on PERM processing?

For example, if the individual falls ill they are not allowed to simply die of that cause and attempts must be made to save them before formal execution, my question is whether they can actively stop the process.
