2025.01.23 22:21 MrShitterz Strange Behaviour After Overclock
Essentially, my PC does fine on stress tests, I've over clocked my I7 9700k to 4.9ghz at Vcore at 2.85 on Aurous Z390 PRO.
But it does this weird thing where screen goes black, fans ramp up 100% but my computer is still running and I can usually still talk to my friends. Sometimes the applications running do seem to crash also.
But I'm sat here wondering is this the overclock or not, stress test is fine, I was previously running 5ghz, but reduced it, but still having same issues where stress test work but computer crashes still!?
Tried reinstalling graphics drivers also, so odd. Unsure what to do at this point. Don't want to give up because I'm getting way more frames in games, but have no clue why its happening, watched so many videos on overclocking, I got this motherboard years ago because I knew I would want to overclock when my CPU starts getting slow. & Now my I have finally overclocked and its seems stabled but then crashes randomly.
*Extra information, last stress test I did ran Prime95 for like 30 mins then Aida for 1 hour, no crashes, played call of duty 6 for like 3 hours no crashes, BO6 using 100% of my CPU due to bottleneck, it seems it often crashes while not under demanding tasks...

2025.01.23 22:21 Capable-Paper2860 Hyper-Aggressive Blaine/Regular Pidgeot Deck I used to get 5 wins in a row in the Mythical Island event
 | Just wanted to share this deck because I haven’t really seen anyone using quite the same thing, and I’ve been having a ton of fun with it, as well as some pretty decent success against the best teams in the Meta with it. This team is really fun to use and doesn’t really use any super rare cards, so I figured I’d share it so other people can give it a shot. I’ve had just as much, if not more success with this deck than I have with the meta Celebi/Golem/Gyardos decks I’ve also used. I’ve been a big fan of the Blaine decks because they allow for really aggressive play on fairly low energy, but I found that the standard Blaine decks just didn’t do enough damage for me to handle some of the newer decks like the Gyardos EX decks. I tinkered with the idea of using the original Pidgeot, as opposed to the Pidgeot EX, for a few reasons. For one, I think this deck really benefits from not having EX cards, allowing for early sacrifices to get good positioning. Additionally, Pidgeot being a built in Sabrina is a really, really good ability, which allows you to force in cards that Ninetails can deal with. Lastly, I think the 2 energy attack works much better with this deck, as you really wanna be as energy efficient as possible — all mons having < 2 energy attacks and 1 energy retreat allows for a lot of maneuverability. I tried a bunch of different combinations and eventually landed on this one. The main idea is still the same as most Blaine decks — maneuvering your cards and getting chip damage so you can get Ninetails in for those big Blaine boosted 120 damage flamethrowers. Having Pidgeot makes said chip damage much more valuable, as players can’t just reliable stash damaged mons on their bench assuming that they’ll be safe until they need them to attack. It’s also really convenient for forcing out middle evolutions with < 90 HP for early knockouts, leaving opponents in positions where they have to play very scared with their EX cards, as a Pidgeot Wing Attack and a Blaine Flamethrower is enough to KO even Gyardos EX if they don’t have Potions. Pidgeotto’s 1 energy/30 damage gust is really nice, as many of the best cards like Mewtwo EX find themselves in range of a Blaine boosted Flamethrower after 1 gust, as well as Pikachu EX if you aren’t able to pull an early Blaine (if you do, Ninetails can just OHKO it). I went back and forth on whether I wanted 1 or 2 X-Speeds, but they ultimately offered so much maneuverability in the early game that I decided on two, especially when you can move a 1 energy Pidgeotto to the bench in anticipation of pulling a Pidgeot. I only used one Ponyta/Rapidash and chose to go with the original Rapidash, as I felt having another 1 energy attack was more valuable than the potential 100/130 damage 2 energy coinflip Rapidash. I mainly use Rapidash to clean up endgames or do get surprise KOs in the early game if I get lucky enough to pull them early on. Players will often think they’re in the clear when taking out my Ninetails/Pidgeot with a pokemon with < 70 HP, just for me to fire off a Blaine boosted Fire Mane to seal the game. There’s some niche things you need to figure out to have success with this deck — when to keep your Vulpix unevolved and use the Tail Whip coin flip as your win condition, when to attack with Pidgey/Pidgeotto early as opposed to sacrificing it to attach energy to your Ninetails, etc., but in general I think it’s pretty easy to play and has good matchups into a lot of the best decks, including almost always being a free win against Celebi/Serperior. If you have any questions or comments let me know! Salve a tutti, ho 23 anni e purtroppo vivo ancora con i miei genitori per ragioni dettate dall'università (facoltà di medicina); come si evince dal titolo cerco dei consigli su come vivere nel miglior modo possibile l'ennesimo episodio di silenzio punitivo di mio padre che, come la maggior parte degli uomini della sua generazione, pensa questa sia l'unica strategia per gestire i litigi con i propri figli.
Purtroppo questa situazione si è verificata dopo un periodo semi tranquillo dove pensavo che le cose si fossero sistemate. Circa 4 anni fa mio padre, a seguito di un litigio epocale e per ragioni che ancora fatico a comprendere, ha deciso di non parlare con tutta la famiglia (ma in particolare con me visto che ero io la protagonista della scena) per 6 mesi. La cosa mi ha francamente traumatizzata, ho avuto un vero e proprio disturbo dell'adattamento e sono stata molto male, il che ha rallentato la mia carriera universitaria e in generale distrutto la fiducia che riponevo in lui come figura genitoriale. L'episodio che si sta verificando adesso mi riporta inevitabilmente a quel periodo terribile, nonostante io questa volta abbia provato a comunicare per prima (semplici saluti e cercare di non evitare la sua presenza in casa) sembra non stia servendo a nulla. La cosa mi fa restare molto male, lui purtroppo pensa di non avere problemi e di essere sempre nel giusto, non si è mai messo in discussione e il dialogo è impossibile perchè finisce sempre per urlare o andarsene di casa. Dopo questi periodi di silenzio totale torna sempre a parlarmi come se niente fosse e non si ha più un confronto sulle questioni, rimangono sempre tutte irrisolte. Spesso ho crisi di pianto per la questione perchè penso che ormai il rapporto si sia rovinato per sempre, che non lo avrò alla mia laurea o ai grandi traguardi della vita perchè magari avrà ancora il broncio o cose così. Mia madre in tutto questo minimizza la questione ma credo che il suo sia un meccanismo di difesa dettato dal fatto che dipende molto da mio padre (pagare le tasse, fare bonifici, gestire le cose online e così via) visto che da sempre la divisione dei compiti è stata quella e lei non è autonoma in nessuna di queste cose (così come mio padre non è in grado di cucinarsi un piatto di pasta o di stirarsi una maglietta).
Non so che strategie adottare, non so se essere io stessa muta e mantenere il silenzio fino a quando non me ne vado di casa (ma questo succederà non prima di un anno perchè ho tanti esami da recuperare), non so se dargli un ultimatum o se mantenere la testa bassa fino alla laurea e poi sparire dalla circolazione e avere rapporti solo con mia madre. Il problema è che il clima a casa fa schifo, spesso rimugino sulla questione e mi ritrovo a perdere tempo prezioso che potrei dedicare allo studio o semplicemente al relax. Inoltre dipendo del tutto dai miei, non ho tempo per un lavoro con gli orari dell'università e i tirocini quindi qualsiasi somma di denaro io chieda per i miei bisogni deve essere approvata da lui. Non so più dove sbattere la testa, sono stata in terapia per quasi un anno e mezzo dopo il periodo di silenzio di 6 mesi e penso ci ritornerò se mai troverò i soldi per farlo. Qua cerco soluzioni short term se ne esistono. Probabilmente volevo anche solo sfogarmi per la situazione perchè scrivere mi aiuta. Scusate la lunghezza, spero possiate aiutarmi e/o confortarmi

I(15m) had some type of fever a week ago and around then I woke up one day with a bad pain on the sides of my jaw, then over some hours the pain moved up to my ears. They felt sore inside but I would get an intense sharp pain in them where my ears would randomly do the thing where they open up and make an ocean noise you know. This stopped by the end of the day but since then my ears, my right more than left, have been muffled for me half of the time. I could hear things just fine but I could barely hear myself, and it sounded weird to eat or talk.
Now today, my hearing is completely muffled and I cant hear well at all. It sounds like there is muffled water where my ears are. When I move my head down, I can feel it move off my ears and I can hear perfectly normal, but when I tilt my head up it gets muffled again and I can feel weight in my ears. Each ear has a different amount of pressure and I can hear out of my right better rn. Will this pass or should I see someone about it?
