Build Description Leaning on Surgical Strikes since I feel it lines up best with the seating this ship has. Still mainly cannons, but breaking away for the dual beams from Lorca's Ambition and an omni in the back since it does more damage than a turret and I am not using CSV.

My boyfriend Adrian (30M) and I (30F) have been together for 9 years. We met each other through Paula (30F). [Not real names]
The event in the title is based on something that happened 9 years ago, so I need to provide some context about it.
Paula and I were in school together, but became best friends in freshman year of college after she moved abroad to study and I stayed in our home city to for college. Despite being in different countries, we stayed in touch through text and FaceTime, and became close because we both went through rough long-distance breakups around the same time, and found comfort in our friendship.
Around that time (we were all 18), Paula gave me Adrian’s number (along with a few other people’s) so I could invite him to a mutual friend’s surprise birthday party over text. He didn’t make it to the party, but we continued texting and became close friends over the next few months.
When we were 20, I also became friends with Adrian’s best friend Dave (same age as all of us), who was also friends with Paula. Around the same time, Adrian and I started hooking up as FWB.
Adrian and I had a fun friendship mostly built around going out for drinks together, and texting a lot. However, at the time, we did have some disagreements from time to time, as we had kinda different world views. Nothing deal-breaking, though.
Back then, Adrian was kinda immature (we all are at 20, right?)
One night in July 2014 (when we were all 20), Paula, Adrian, Dave, and I went out for drinks, and then back to Paula’s place to continue hanging out afterwards. Around 1am, I had to leave because I had a curfew back at home, and I was frantic because I was running late. My Uber was waiting for me downstairs, and Adrian offered to walk me down to the car. I said okay.
On the way down, Adrian tried to kiss me in the stairwell. I stopped him, saying I was running late and really needed to leave or my mom would yell at me. Adrian tried to coax me for a quick kiss and to stay for 5 minutes. I got angry he wasn’t listening, and started walking down the stairs. He tried to convince me some more, but eventually let it go when I wouldn’t listen.
The next morning, I thought of the situation through a sober viewpoint. We had all been pretty drunk that night. I felt really upset about the way Adrian had behaved with me, and not listened to me when I tried to say I couldn’t stick around to make out at the time. So I texted him what I was thinking, and blocked him before he could reply.
A couple hours later, Dave texted me, begging me to give Adrian a chance to explain, because he felt really bad about what he did. Paula felt I was right in blocking Adrian. I told Dave exactly what I was upset about and that I didn’t want to talk to Adrian, but Dave once again begged me to reconsider because Adrian was feeling terrible about what he did.
I told my mom about all of this, expecting her to agree with me. She said that she saw why I was upset with Adrian, but that it might not hurt to simply hear him out. After that, if I still felt I didn’t want to remain friends with him, that would be my choice. I agreed with her, so I unblocked Adrian and gave him a chance to explain.
Adrian profusely apologised, saying that in his drunkenness he didn’t realise that I wasn’t into it at the time, and thought I was only in a hurry so he thought he could grab a quick kiss. He said that nevertheless, he was extremely sorry and hoped I could forgive him, but that he’d understand if I couldn’t.
I considered what he said, and felt that he was genuinely sorry, and that it was a genuine misunderstanding rather than him trying to violate my consent. So I decided to put it behind us, and go back to being friends. We remained friends and occasional FWB.
Fast forward to September 2015, over a year after that incident. Adrian had matured a fair bit. We all graduated college and started working. Adrian got a job too, became a lot more responsible, and less juvenile. I started to develop feelings for him. After mulling it for a few weeks, I decided to tell him when we went out for drinks one night (our usual activity together). I told him I wanted a relationship with him. He asked me for a day or two to think it over, and then asked me to be his girlfriend. It might seem like a big jump to go straight into an exclusive relationship after one confession, but it felt natural because we had already been such close friends for 2.5 years and hooked up a few times.
Paula, although hesitant about it when I first told her about my feelings, was fairly supportive of our relationship.
Fast forward to a couple of years later (around 2017). Paula told me that back when Adrian and I first got together, Dave told her that he doesn’t think we’ll last, and that he “gives us 2 months, tops.” That was quite annoying to hear, but I let it slide since it was a couple of years ago by then, and obviously he was wrong.
Fast forward to yesterday. Paula and I are still best friends, as are Adrian and Dave. Adrian and I have been together for 9 years at this point, and are very happy together. Adrian and Paula are also still very good friends. Paula and I were reminiscing about some old times, when the topic of what Dave had said to her about me and Adrian not lasting back in 2015 came up.
This time, Paula admitted to something she hadn’t mentioned back then—that she didn’t “dare” to say it out loud, but that back then, she had been in agreement with Dave. She hadn’t thought that Adrian and I would last either. She said that she was—and still is—shocked that I forgave him for what happened that night in July 2014. She felt that I’d developed feelings for him simply because he was there, rather than us having a genuine connection. She said that back then, she didn’t feel Adrian was worthy of the love and adoration she knew I shower on the person I’m with. However, she was happy that Adrian had proved her wrong, and that he and I are so happy together.
I told her I guess I understood where she’s coming from, but that at the time I chose to move on from the incident because I felt Adrian was genuinely remorseful. She said “I’m sure you did what you felt was best”, and that “Adrian was always a good guy, just a bit misguided.”
I wanted to defend Adrian, and I feel like I should’ve. But: a) back then, I agreed with a lot of what she said about Adrian being immature, because he was b) Paula has always expressed a staunch dislike for when her female friends lose themselves in their relationships and abandon their ideals for a man, and I didn’t want it to seem like I was doing that c) people pleaser tendencies, I guess?
Late last night, Adrian and I were FaceTiming when I told him about the conversation I had with Paula and what she said. I told him about it in a lighthearted manner, not thinking it would be a big deal since all of this happened a decade ago. However, Adrian got kinda quiet, and looked a bit troubled. I asked what was wrong, and he said he didn’t appreciate that I brought this up right before he went to sleep (implying that it ruined his mood). I said I didn’t think it would be a big deal since all of this happened so long ago, and obviously Paula doesn’t feel the same way about it anymore and even said she was happy he’d proven her wrong.
Adrian said that even so, it didn’t feel very nice to be reminded of something he’d done that he was ashamed of and hadn’t thought about in years. I said that I told her he was genuinely sorry which is why I’d let it go. I also said I wanted to defend him more. He asked if I did, and I said I didn’t because I knew Paula would get defensive. He said that I need to start saying what’s on my mind without worrying about that (there have been other incidents where I held my tongue when I wanted to call Paula out on stuff like this because I didn’t think she’d be receptive to my words.)
I said sorry, and he said he wished I would think before I speak (I am a bit of a yapper and admit I can get carried away and speak a bit tactlessly sometimes).
Before this topic came up, Adrian was tired but in a decent mood. After this conversation, however, he seemed kinda upset although he still spoke to me normally and said goodnight the way he usually does.
Ever since then, I can’t stop thinking about it. Should I have made more of an effort to defend Adrian in front of Paula? Should I not have brought the topic up at all with Adrian or would it have been okay to tell him about it at a more suitable time? AITA?

2025.01.23 23:05 Numerous_Employ_4022 Psychology student trying to find a family to interview
Hi everyone, I hope this is the right place to post, I'm in the LA area and hoping someone here can offer some advice. I just finished my Pschology and now a grad student. For one of my assignments, I have to interview a child. I realized that I simply don't know anyone who has a child. To make it worse, I need to have it video recorded. I have been struggling and I spoke to my professor, and she made an exemption for me that I just need to record myself and it can be done remotely. Still, I can't for the life of me find anybody. I am borderline thinking of switching schools if I can't complete this project.
Unfortunately, I don't really belong to any types of groups, churches, etc. I still have about a month, and have even thought about joining or volunteering at some group within this time? I do have a handful of friends and coworkers, but their children are grown. I was also thinking as a last resort to go to the library and ask a parent if I could interview their child, which I feel is a bit weird and borderline creepy. I was also thinking of making a post on facebook, but feel like that is the same thing. Who would want to agree to that? In the meantime, I am reaching out to classmates. Wondering if anyone can help me or offer some advice?

Hi. I am working on making an ESP32-based drone using Espressif's official esp-drone firmware.
I'm encountering an issue where the output pins on my ESP to my drone's motors I defined in menuconfig remain at 0V at all times even when I apply throttle stick inputs after successfully connecting to the drone via the ESP-drone app on my Android phone. Although the app shows that it has connected to the drone, there is no measurable voltage output to the motor pins (GPIO 1-4 on the XIAO ESP32-S3) when throttle joystick inputs are applied.
These are my Environment Details:
- Board: Seeed Studio XIAO ESP32-S3 Sense
- Firmware: Espressif's original esp-drone firmware built using ESP-IDF
- ESP-IDF Version: v5.0.7
- App Used: ESP-drone app on Android
- Connection Type: USB for uploading firmware, Wi-Fi connection to the app
- Installed ESP-IDF v5.0.7 and set up the environment as per the official documentation.
- Uploaded the firmware to the XIAO ESP32-S3 using the ESP-IDF.
- Connected to the drone via the ESP-drone app using Wi-Fi (app reported successful connection but does the same even when not connected to its dedicated AP network).
- Attempted to control the motors using throttle stick inputs from the app with no luck.
- Installed cfclient via the IDF's Powershell and ran it, but couldn't connect to the ESP32S3 board due to error: [WinError 10051] (Couldn't load link driver).
Below are the relevant errors/warnings observed in the monitor log:
- Deprecated ADC Driver:W (355) ADC: legacy driver is deprecated, please migrate to `esp_adc/adc_oneshot.h`
- (I understand this is a warning, but including it in case it is impacting functionality.)
- CPU Initialization Warning:0x40375630: call_start_cpu1 at C:/Espressif/frameworks/esp-idf-v5.0.7/components/esp_system/port/cpu_start.c:147
- (This error may indicate an issue with core initialization, but I am uncertain if it is related to the motor output problem.)
- Verified that the app successfully connects to the drone.
- Measured output voltages on the GPIO pins assigned to motors (GPIO 1-4) but observed no changes.
- Checked motor control parameters in the configuration file (
config.json), and they appear correctly set:max_thrust: 80min_thrust: 25slew_limit: 45
- Confirmed that the firmware compiles and uploads successfully without fatal errors.
- Could the CPU initialization warning or deprecated ADC driver impact the motor outputs?
- How can I further confirm whether the app is fully connecting to the drone?
