I'll be visiting SF next week and am looking for places that serve ultra modern specialty coffee. I prefer coffee closer to the light/ultralight/nordic light side of things so I'm not interested in any of the early third wave spots like Sightglass/Ritual/etc. I keep hearing about Coffee Movement and have plans to visit there but I am looking for a few more. I'd also love to know any spots in the city where I can buy local roasters like Hydrangea, Flower Child, Moonwake, minmax. I heard I can get some of them at CoRo but I'm not sure I'll have enough time to get across the Bay so I'd like to avoid that if possible.

Beyond Good And Evil, chapter 1 (Zimmern), is the entirety of Nietzsche's works that I have read thus far.
I have only read of a few pages of other philosophers and a couple of books on philosophy--all about 30 years ago. I was so disappointed that I have had to forge my own ideas ever since. Nevertheless, I have decided to read Nietzsche.
In chapter 1, it sounds to me like Nietzsche's main theme is that he is very disappointed with all previous philosophers, and he is challenging himself and others to develop a new and bolder philosophy. He thinks that a major problem with previous philosophies that they contain far more tradition and far more prejudices of the philosophers than any will admit. He wants a new philosophy that is not just outside-the-box, but that is radically outside-the-box.
Does that sound right?

About 30 minutes ago, my SD card started acting very strange. Every time I use it (move or copy files to and from, unzip files), it stops being recognized. I've been using it a lot today, and haven't noticed anything before now. When I reinsert it, a prompt saying "There's a problem with this drive." always pops up. On top of that, when it begins scanning, it also stops being recognized. Is there a fix to this or am I cooked?

Hey guys, trying to get in the field. Looking for advice with my current scenario. 24M, got out of the military in 2023. Smoked some weed after I got out, did some drugs in high school(weed, LSD twice). Went full retard, and did Coke once at a club after I got out of the army. No drugs or anything since like May 2023.
Applied to my local department, December 2023 and got denied. Obviously. Drugs were never a problem for me. It was always experimental. The Coke was a stupid decision obviously. I’ve never been addicted or anything. I’m not saying that absolves me of responsibility; just trying to paint a picture for you guys.
Haven’t applied since. Is a career in law-enforcement out of the question for me?

Hi there fellow dodgy kidney owners! 💖 (in gest - I hope you're all as well as possible!) I've recently started to get warning signs of kidney stones, I had A BUNCH removed surgically a year ago, almost exactly, with one big MF left behind as it was stuck in the actual meatus of my kidney. Unable to move, apparently. I have pain in my left kidney area, and both sides of my lower abdomen, exactly like I remember before. I'm drinking - but not peeing much. At all. Which is a little bothersome as the last time this happened I retained 1300ml in my bladder as a stone was blocking my ureter. No pain when I pass urine though, even though it's a small amount. No blood either. I've got no appetite, but that's nothing new, it never really returned after the stones were gone. But I've definitely got a lack of energy though.. Big time. Sleeping 14hrs a day or more. Also prone to waking up with the child, but that goes away as soon as I take my cortisol. So I could be low on that due to a few new stones kicking around maybe? I'm also itchy at night, which I remember from before.. And if I can manage to eat a decent size meal, I vomit most of it shortly after 😫 I've lost a lot of weight without trying. But no sign of infection? So I'm pretty sure all my GP will say is just come back when you feel like you have an infection... But I'm pretty bloody scared of kidney stones / infections, as the last one nearly killed me. (The pain brought in an addisons crisis that was very severe).. It was the only time I've actually collapsed unconscious from one.. But I can't think of anything else that could be throwing me off my game this much, I've been pretty stable (for me) for a whole year. The last lot took a year until they were removed, and 10 kidney infections to an already pretty screwed up kidney... So I don't know if it's worth contacting the dr or not? Another problem is my pain killers mask the severity of the pain until it's too late and my body can't take it. Like last time. OR do I drink a butt ton of water and hope to feel fine in a week or two? 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️ it's the really huh ketones that are worrying though - correct me if I'm wrong (please do, I like to learn) I think that means I'm in starvation mode? So breaking down muscles for proteins? Is that correct?... Which would track, as I struggle to consume more than 1000kcal a day. More like 800 some days. NOT ON PURPOSE, the thought of food makes me feel so sick, also, I never know what I want to eat. I eat the same few things until I'm bored with them, then need to try to find new foods... I have fortisips THANKFULLY, but I can't live on them. The tiredness however, could be because I'm simply not eating enough. I'm aware of that. I have blood tests at the hospital tomorrow, hopefully they will show if anything funky is going on in my immune system that might be the cause? If not. Maybe it's time for another scan. Yay.
