Hi everyone!
I was looking for some input. I am 5’1, female, and currently at 119 lbs. I’ve been on a weight loss journey for the past year or so which has just been a calorie deficit and high protein. I started at 152 lbs. The problem is that I look skinny fat. I don’t have loose skin or anything, but my stomach still doesn’t look flat. I’m not happy with my body at all. I’ve been consistently tracking calories and I eat roughly 1,200 cals a day and 80-100 grams of protein a day. What can I do to help with this? What changes would you suggest I make to achieve my goal of a flat stomach? Thank you in advance!

I am 20s, spouse is also 20s. Keeping gender out for anonymity/ambiguity, so will refer to partner as “they”. This post is long for context, thanks for bearing with me.
My partner’s family moved to the US when they were very young and ended up staying long term, so they grew up speaking two languages (English & their native language). The first conversation I had with my partner, they told me it was important to them to keep speaking their native language and they want their future kids to know it too, as their whole extended family is still back in their home country. I have always admired this side of my partner and started working to learn the language myself about 3 years ago as I want to be able to communicate with the extended family when we see them. I spend some time every single day on this, but it is a really difficult language.
My struggle is that their family has always spoken their native language around me for the many years we have been together, despite working in English-speaking jobs and knowing how to speak the language well. I want to preface these feelings with saying that I don’t mean to sound America-centric and as if everyone should speak English to make my life easier. But as someone who was introduced to their family as their child’s partner, who became spouse, I always felt othered and as if they were intentionally leaving me out. There were several instances where I was excluded from activities and even asked to leave for a day so they could have family time, so I think this language situation is just a part of the larger sentiment that I don’t feel welcomed. This has been communicated to them by my partner several times but to no real avail. It mostly went from entire dinner table conversations happening around me in a foreign language while I stared at my plate to conversations not directly including me being in a foreign language (most conversations but at least not the entirety of dinner).
I already have a really difficult relationship with one of my parents and wanted their parent to be able to be someone supportive, but instead I’m hearing their parent thinks I should know more by now instead of acknowledging that I feel completely left out and am putting in a lot of work to learn their language because it is important to my spouse. As a non-immigrant, I sometimes feel like I maybe just don’t understand? But other people tell me how rude it is of them to continually exclude me and I just don’t know if my feelings are justified. I’d love perspective from people who understand this situation. Thank you.
