With screens ranging anywhere from $20 to $20,000, what is going on here? I'm shopping around... and I understand the basics. But, at technical and engineering level, what makes $5,000 screen better than a coat of grey paint? Like what technologies/engineering is actually going on there? I understand UST screens have a ridges like structure to get the light from below.. and that makes sense on the price front. But im not in the market for UST..
Sooo.. when it comes to long throws, what technologies actually matter? What are just gimmicky? What are just scams?
I have it my mind that I want a dark grey or even black screen.. (I already have a white one).
But I see things like having metal in the screen and what not... I dont need a super fancy screen with a lensing/focusing effect. But why would/should I dish out hundreds or thousands for certain screen materials vs a grey sheet of lightblocking material. What are the actual differences in materials (pvc, cotton, polyester, whatever proprietary blends there are), and what are the benefits of each? And are those benefits worth the extreme premiums some of them charge? I can only watch so many side by side videos... but most don't get much deeper that "dark screen good contrast".
There's also the matter of paints.. what makes a good paint?
I'm in definitely more into the DIY solution side of things, as I have semi unique spot to put it (it's basically going to be entire fake wall, I already know the cons I will face with that).
I just want to make sure I end up with the right material.. as of now, for the price, I'm satisfied with the idea of some blackout material.. but should I get darker material? Or would I be better off getting white and painting it? (I don't like that idea though as I may need to move it occasionally and the paint would surely crack). Are there better diy materials that don't break the bank?
I know it's a jumbled mess of adhd questions.. but I keep seeing the marketing for expensive screens, and then seeing "I spent $40 and its great!" Granted I'm goin big 200"+ so thats gonna drive up my costs no matter what.. even though I probably won't utilize the entire screen most of the time, it's just a matter of where I'm placing it, it's make more sense to cover the entire area.
So yeah.. which techs actually matter and should I be on the look out for.. and which techs are worth the money vs something that like a 10% improvement for 90x the cost?

2015 Infiniti q50 3.7, wondering what I need to do? My cold air still works but I feel like it could definitely be colder, and my hot air doesn’t work at all except on the passenger side and even then it’s only a little hot air. Also realized today that the fan noise is only on whenever the AC is on. Thoughts?

2025.01.24 01:49 SadBand7 I had use scabies medicines but I still have itching.
Because of this itching I visited my doctor yesterday and he prescribed me corticosteroids (antibiotic cream) idk would it work or not but its my only hope. So my brother is a big guy natural • ofc •and I asked him do he workout fasted he told me he only drink coffee at 5 am workout 5:30 am - 6:30 am and eat anything after 1 hr after the gym due to reaching home late
I tried it not using the bcaa and it worked quite well I felt stronger in the morning also my lifts were better
