I feel like I cannot relate to about, 40-ish? Percent of other people who are alone like I am in this sub since they struggle with self worth or even straight up don't like themselves.
I've always loved myself and I think I'm really cool, I've always set firm boundaries as far back as I can think and have always known I deserve to be loved the way I want and desire. Anyone else like this? I feel a bit even more alone if that's possible since my situation seems to be a bit different than others in here.

We are getting ready to head back to Aruba for our third trip to one happy island! Normally we keep it pretty chill - beach, pool, nap, nice dinner, and our “big excursion” is just a jolly pirates snorkeling tour. This year we’ve extended our stay a little longer so want to do a bit more exploring. I have a reservation at flying fishbone for the sunset experience. Will we be done early enough that we could do some exploring of San Nicolas after dinner? And is it feasible to walk around? Will we be able to find a cab back to palm beach after?
We’ve not been down to that area before and I’d like to see the murals and stuff, maybe check out a cool bar or something for after dinner cocktails.

graduated from uni in jan 2024 but i am still unemployed. chemical engineering course. dont know where i’ve done wrong i’ve attended cv workshops etc but i have only been called for an iv only once out of 100+ job applications. my parents aren’t helping me not even with words of encouragement. all they do is tell me how worthless i am. putting that aside, my mother recently looked at my cv and said its fitting that i dont get any job since i didnt even include my detailed address and ic number. should i really do that?

TL;DR: I heavily masked at work, felt exhausted and numb at home, and didn’t recognize myself. Could this be autistic burnout or a meltdown? Looking for insights as I process this.
Hi everyone, I don’t have an official autism diagnosis, but I’ve done tests and explored autism via books and online ressources. There are signs that point to it, and I resonate with a lot of autistic experiences. Learning about autism made me feel seen for the first time.
I wanted to share something I’ve been struggling with and ask for insights.
For six years, I worked an office job where I felt like I was living a double life. From the first day, I tried so hard to fit in by people-pleasing and masking. I dressed differently than I did at home, spoke with a different tone, and even had a different sense of humor at work. Every moment, I was on.
It exhausted me emotionally. I often felt on the verge of tears, even over small interactions like jokes or positive feedback from my boss. At home, the exhaustion hit me like a brick wall. I’d come through the door feeling empty, numb, and too tired to even be myself.
This burnout affected my relationship with my boyfriend (who was chronically ill at the time). I couldn’t be present, pushed him away emotionally, and was often irritable or angry without really understanding why. When conflicts arose, I froze or dissociated. I couldn’t process emotions or information; it felt like I was completely trapped in myself. I was constantly anxious, and while I could fall asleep from exhaustion, it never felt restful.
Looking back, that time doesn’t even feel like me. It scares me because I don’t want to feel that out of control again.
Could this extreme masking and exhaustion from "living a double life" have caused something like an autistic meltdown or autistic burnout? I’ve read a bit about both but am unsure if what I experienced aligns with those terms.
If anyone has had similar experiences or has insights into how to process this, I’d really appreciate your thoughts. My therapist isn’t focused on autism, so it’s been hard to find specific support.

I was gifted a beaver skull by a guy my grandpa knows. The upper and lower jaws are separate and the lower jaw has been mounted to a wooden base with 3 spots of what looks like hot glue and, other than the teeth, looks to have been spray painted white. I'd like to at least more properly mount it and add some decorations to it (thinking like some moss and I bought some Sculpey clay to make little mushrooms and such to put on it). This is first time attempting this craft so I was wondering the following:
- how can I better attach the upper and lower parts of the skull and properly mount it to the wood base and what product should I use?
- will the skull be ok if I sculpt the decorations directly onto it and put the whole thing in the oven to bake the clay or would it be better to remove my clay decorations from the skull before baking them? (I know I mentioned adding moss and obviously I'm not going to bake moss, before anyone says anything.)
- is there a way to get the white spray paint off the skull without damaging it? If not, that's totally fine as this is the least of my concerns.
