2025.01.24 17:40 Atrocious-Baby Breeder Recommendations?
I'm in the central bay area of California, and I want a Green Cheek Conure. I like the more colorful mutations, but it's not a top priority for me. I prefer hand raised. Any breeder recommendations are really appreciated! :)

2025.01.24 17:40 IrinaSophia Saint Xenia of St. Petersburg, Fool-for-Christ (January 24th)
Saint Xenia lived during the eighteenth century, but little is known of her life or of her family. She passed most of her life in Petersburg during the reigns of the empresses Elizabeth and Catherine II. Xenia Grigorievna Petrova was the wife of an army officer, Major Andrew Petrov. After the wedding, the couple lived in Saint Petersburg. Saint Xenia became a widow at the age of twenty-six when her husband suddenly died at a party. She grieved for the loss of her husband, and especially because he died without Confession or Holy Communion. Once her earthly happiness ended, she did not look for it again. From that time forward, Xenia lost interest in the things of this world, and followed the difficult path of foolishness for the sake of Christ. The basis for this strange way of life is to be found in the first Epistle to the Corinthians (1 Cor. 1:18-24, 1 Cor. 2:14, 1 Cor. 3:18-19). The Lord strengthened her and helped her to bear sorrow and misfortune patiently for the next forty-five years. She started wearing her husband’s clothing, and insisted that she be addressed as “Andrew Feodorovich.” She told people that it was she, and not her husband, who had died. In a certain sense, this was perfectly true. She abandoned her former way of life and experienced a spiritual rebirth. When she gave away her house and possessions to the poor, her relatives complained to the authorities. After speaking to Xenia, the officials were convinced that she was in her right mind and was entitled to dispose of her property as she saw fit. Soon she had nothing left for herself, so she wandered through the poor section of Petersburg with no place to lay her head. She refused all assistance from her relatives, happy to be free of worldly attachments. When her late husband’s red and green uniform wore out, she clothed herself in rags of those colors. After a while, Xenia left Petersburg for eight years. It is believed that she visited holy Elders and ascetics throughout Russia seeking instruction in the spiritual life. She may have visited Saint Theodore of Sanaxar (February 19), who had been a military man himself. His life changed dramatically when a young officer died at a drinking party. Perhaps this officer was Saint Xenia’s husband. In any case, she knew Saint Theodore and profited from his instructions. Saint Xenia eventually returned to the poor section of Petersburg, where she was mocked and insulted because of her strange behavior. When she did accept money from people it was only small amounts, which she used to help the poor. She spent her nights praying without sleep in a field outside the city. Prayer strengthened her, and in her heart’s conversation with the Lord she found the support she needed on her difficult path. When a new church was being built in the Smolensk cemetery, Saint Xenia brought bricks to the site. She did this in secret, during the night, so that no one would know. Soon her great virtue and spiritual gifts began to be noticed. She prophesied future events affecting the citizens of Petersburg, and even the royal family. Against her will, she became known as someone pleasing to God, and nearly everyone loved her. They said, “Xenia does not belong to this world, she belongs to God.” People regarded her visits to their homes or shops as a great blessing. Saint Xenia loved children, and mothers rejoiced when the childless widow would stand and pray over a baby’s crib, or kiss a child. They believed that the blessed one’s kiss would bring that child good fortune. Saint Xenia lived about forty-five years after the death of her husband, and departed to the Lord at the age of seventy-one. The exact date and circumstances of her death are not known, but it probably took place at the end of the eighteenth century. She was buried in the Smolensk cemetery. By the 1820s, people flocked to her grave to pray for her soul, and to ask her to intercede with God for them. So many visitors took earth from her grave that it had to be replaced every year. Later, a chapel was built over her grave. Those who turn to Saint Xenia in prayer receive healing from illness, and deliverance from their afflictions. She is also known for helping people who seek jobs. oca.org submitted by IrinaSophia to OrthodoxChristianity [link] [comments] |

2025.01.24 17:40 Defiant-Law600 Save me from paying £1.5k please.
The valve has gone on my toilet and now constantly runs/doesn’t flush. Unfortunately, the builder of the house put the cistern inside the wall and I’ve been quoted £1.5k for the smashing of the tiles, replacing of the cistern and re-tiling. The plumber said it’d have been an easier fix if they could identify the system and just replace the part. So I thought I’d take my question to the internet! Can anyone identify this system and save me some cash? Ai said it was a Fluid master but I’m struggling to find the make and model if that helps at all. Thanks guys! submitted by Defiant-Law600 to askaplumber [link] [comments] |
2025.01.24 17:40 threeputtbogey33 Scottsdale Golf Suggestions
Looking for a suggestion on a mid $200’s course near Scottsdale. We are going out at the start of March for a 40th birthday golf trip.
Some of my finalists include, Eagle Mountain, McDowell Mountain, or Talking stick.
Between the 3 which would be the best? Am I missing a course on this level that would be better than these? Is Papago on par with my finalists?

2025.01.24 17:40 Ok_Resident_5022 “Just Whitney” & “I Look To You”: The Betrayal
These two albums massively underperformed within their respective eras (especially compared to her previous albums) and are arguably very underrated. Whitney started on a decline in the early-2000s as her reputation as a “reliable” stage performer became lost.I read somewhere recently that in 2008, for a performance for the president of Kazakhstan, Mariah Carey had to send over some of her best female background singers when nobody else wanted to back Whitney up. This is depressing. Her core fanbase had also strayed away. During performances in Denmark and London for her “Nothing but Love” tour, several fans booed her, and many of them even walked out. . . . . . . . . . . Artistically, I feel like Whitney deserved another chance. Her later bodies of work, while not as vocally outstanding, were still quite solid in my opinion, and she didn’t deserve the treatment she got by the public in the last decade of her careelife. Personally, I would have accepted any live performance knowing that she once did what many could never do. The public was far too harsh on Whitney, and you could tell she was still at least trying; you could tell she still cared. The albums, on the other hand, should have performed much better than they did. “Just Whitney” was a very nice album, and “I Look To You” had great substance in my opinion! Of course the latter was a bit more on the depressing side with songs such as the title track and ‘I Didn’t Know My Own Strength’, but it was a pretty good album for that time period. Whitney should have had a comeback album like Mariah’s “The Emancipation of Mimi”, but unfortunately, nobody wanted to give her another chance. Society refused to stick with Whitney in the end, and I feel like that’s one of a few things that led to her passing. It’s sad to see how hard she fell and nobody seemed to care. Her core audience forgot the one thing about supporting someone: you support them both at their best AND at their worst. If you can’t accept them at their worst, you don’t deserve them at their best. That’s not just for celebrities, but in general. I sincerely hope and pray that Whitney is at peace (with her daughter, and now… her mother) 🙏🏾❤️ submitted by Ok_Resident_5022 to rnb [link] [comments] |

2025.01.24 17:40 SaberToothMC Am I about to end up in court?
So my life sort of turned upside down this past year and a bit, been jobless since Nov 2023/ a major surgery, haven't had a job since not for lack of trying (kinda hard to find an employer who'll take the 23 year old lady with a cane). Somewhere in the midst of the tornado I completely forgot about the existence of an old student credit card, which has now gone bad. It racked up a balance of 1.3k, and I got a letter from the bank in the mail this morning (January 24th), from December 19th, saying that if I don't pay the full balance by the end of December, I may be taken to court for the balance, or it may be sent to a collection agency - really loving the mail delays right now. What are my options here? I'm staying with family after losing my old place, I make just enough to pay my phone bill per month doing odd jobs, I could maybe pull another 50$ a month to give the bank- can you set up payment plans like that? Do I just go bankrupt? How would bankruptcy work in my situation? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
