2025.01.24 18:42 Drugchurchisno1 Wet food that can stay out longer than 2 hours?
I’m in the process of transitioning my cat off r4w food and looking for help replacing it with something that fits her schedule and mine and doesn’t rely too heavily on kibble. Currently she eats 4x a day, she was a rescue and very food insecure so more meals a day have helped with alot of behavior issues so i want to keep her on that schedule. She eats at 7 am, 1 pm, 8 pm and 2 am, and i previously had her on the r4w primal nuggets which came very highly recommended and are supposedly very high quality, and the price reflects that (it’s hella expensive 😭) but was worth it for the health benefits i believed it had, which i am now not convinced outweigh the risks, especially given the current bird flu situation.
Currently i have an automatic feeder with ice packs, and depending on when i have to leave the house/sleep, I’ll either load a refrigerated nugget that can stay cold for up to 4 hours and be left out safely, and for longer time periods i put a frozen solid nugget in there and that will be safe to eat for up to 7-8 hours. Im looking for a canned/pate/non-r4w wet food replacement that i can safely leave out for her for longer than 2 hours which is what most brands recommend for sitting at room temp. So essentially i think my questions are: can i refrigerate canned or packaged wet food to keep it safe longer for 2 hours or will that ruin the flavor? She sometimes wouldn’t eat leftovers from opened cans that i refrigerated before i went r4w with her. Is there a packaged wet food product that comes refrigerated or preferably frozen already? All the cans/pates i see are kept at room temp and don’t seem to be meant to be frozen. Or, if there are no non-r4w wet options, do i have to just resort to kibble for the longer periods when I’m not home? I have just always heard that kibble is like junk food and causes health issues down the line so I’m resistant to making it half of her diet after being on solely wet food. She also has some poop difficulties and needs maximum hydration so i try to add water to all of her meals.

Somewhat in honor of a recent post I made and just how I’ve been thinking lately (including possibly moving states), I have been wondering what other people here on Reddit think Idaho should be, how it used to be perhaps, and just what you in particular like about this state. I will start off: the Idaho I grew up very close to in northern Utah seemed like it was full of down-to-earth people who just wanted to do their own thing with their families (mainly outdoor activities).
Now, this mentality may still be true for a whole lot of people here. But, in my opinion, social attitudes and the politics of the state are destroying a lot of what I loved about it. What are your thoughts?

Anytime I buy candy or snacks from a gas station they have a weird old taste to them. I always check the sell by date before buying but it doesn't matter, they still have that stale taste. This is at any gas station. Does anyone else have this issue? I was craving combos so I bought a bag from the gas station but I should've known better because sure enough they tasted old.

This has been a constant doubt in my head, I’ve never really left gods side, I was a Baptist, I’ve had my moments of questioning the lord, but for the most part I talk to him mostly everyday. But when I see the changes that have been made to the Bible, and all the contradiction I can’t bring myself to believe the Bible is not corrupted. I think it has the framework of what god wants you to do, so in that way it’s good. But when I hear fellow Christian’s talk about hell and fearing the devil, when neither existed in early texts, I can’t help but be skeptical. I don’t believe a loving god would create a hell, I don’t believe an all powerful god would let a devil live among us, and I don’t believe god ever wants to punish us. I think he is all loving, he would have no need to punish us, I think we’re here to grow and become thoughtful individuals, to prepare ourselves for the eternity that comes after this life ends. In the original texts, or at least the earliest I can find it has no mention of hell or punishment. If you don’t believe you simply cease to be. Also another inconsistency is heaven, modern bibles have most people believe heaven exists right now. But originally it’s stated when Jesus returns he will bring heaven to earth. Which means earth will become heaven, everyone who dies is in the void until Jesus returns. Idk that one could be up for interpretation. Also there’s all the things the Roman Catholics have changed, they literally built a government system around buying idols and buying your way out of sins. That’s about as corrupt as it gets, and Catholics still practice this today. So if worshipping idols is a sin, like why are yall making exceptions for Mary, and the other idols yall pray too? In my eyes that’s no different than worshiping idols, when god specifically says only to pray to him in the book.
Alright my final point, we all derived from Judaism, and Islamic beliefs derived from Judaism and Christianity. We all technically believe in the same god, we all just believe each others books are corrupt and incorrect teachings. I honestly feel like there’s a good chance all books are incorrect. I think god wants us to use them as a guideline, but we should really be consulting him, and following what we really feel like he’d want us to do in our hearts. Cuz even in the Bible it tells us to beware of false prophets, texts, and teachers, so we’re meant to question everything anyway. So perhaps, the Bible was never meant to be the end all be all for god like most believers think, maybe the religious texts themselves are also a test for humanity. Maybe we’re supposed to decipher life’s truth to find god, and question these texts as god tells us to within the texts. Maybe we’re stopping too short, like we just read and believe and that’s all. But what if you read, find the contradiction, and that leads you to a deeper understanding of what god truly desires.
Anyways that’s my conflict, I believe god created us, and we’re here to be tested. I guess I’m just looking for reasons to return to the Bible, cuz right now all I can see is the contradictions, and honestly, I don’t feel bad for it, it feels kind of right. Like questioning what’s true and what’s false brings me closer to god. What do you guys think? Do you believe in the Bible whole heartedly? Or are you a little skeptical about the texts being faithfully translated?

Hi,
I see some people in this subreddit talking about how they turned their life around and lost a bunch of weight and eat healthy, but their fatty liver is worsening. Can someone explain to me why this happens? The only cure is diet and exercise, but apparently that is not actually a cure? Meaning there is no cure for fatty liver?
It’s frustrating to see people who are successful in their efforts to cure the disease but get no results. The medical community needs to provide an update if this is no longer working so people can temper their expectations.
