Hello there. So I have the old Acer aspire gx 781, on which I upgraded the ram and switched to an SSD and now I am willing to take a look and upgrade my GPU
My specs : Cpu : Intel i5 7400 Ram : 2x 16Gb corsair Psu : 500w (the one from the pre-build) SSD : 1 To sata Motherboard : the original ATX size one
Plz let me know if you found some good components to upgrade, especially the GPU thanks š

Iām honestly excited enough to stop here, and will not be agonizing over finalist selections (will I say that again in April? Idk weāll see)
Anyways, Iām a heritage applicant (my momās side of the family is from there), and have gone through this whole process thinking of it as an advantage, but have recently heard that itās a disadvantage? I have spent a total of 4 weeks in my host country in my 25 years of life and mentioned in my personal statement and cultural engagement that I really wanted to use this experience for my research but to also get back in touch with my familial roots. Any thoughts? Lmao hearing that being a heritage applicant is a downside was a major bummer because I thought it was one of my big selling points.

 | Hey guys, I never thought I'd write on a website but hey, it never hurts to do new things I guess. As far back as I can remember, I've always been very lonely when it comes to my social life. My longest friendships have lasted three years, the rest last three months at the most. I have a passion for drawing chibis, reading, and basically getting into pop culture and history, Unfortunately I have never fit in with any of my classmates, They only approach me if they want some homework passed to them, which I have refused to do because it goes against my values. So I pretty much spend all my days at school as a ghost, watching everyone else talk and love while I stand by and watch. How helpless! It seems I'm the only guy who is tied to the chains of autism! 2025.01.24 19:40 Kamipiwa123 Private Schools or Public School for Pre K and beyond ?
My 4 year old has is not diagnosed but I suspect heās neurodivergent. He attends a private pre school (general education) and a public pre school in the afternoon (also gen ed but has kids with IEPs and typical kids). The private pre k is very play based, but I wouldnāt say much ādisciplineā is going on. His public school pre k is more strict I would say due to the range of kids in the class, his teacher runs a tight ship. His strengths are cognitive skills, his attitude and his willingness. He struggles with attention/focus (except can be hyper focused on a preferred activity) and social skills (just still doesnāt quite understand all the social cues, not super confident on engaging peers to play).
We havenāt gotten a diagnosis yet but he is low support needs. He is in Speech Therapy and Occupational Therapy. He seems to do better with the more structured environment vs the play based but he still has his moments. At both schools he mimics ānegativeā behaviors from time to time. Has tried to escape the classroom at the private school a few times.
His speech and occupational therapists seem to think he would do so well in a more structured environment, like the public school. However the public school pre k is only half day and we need him in full day since I canāt do the daily two schools anymore due to a return to office mandate for work.
I have the opportunity to get him in to a private school grades pre k through 8th grade that focuses on academics. I told the admins of this school about our sonās strengths and opportunities and they say since itās pre k he should take to the expectations well since he is still so young. But the side of me that likes to think worst case scenario worries it could end up badly. But I also think if it works, it would be amazing for him even long term.
A part of me wants to give the private school it a go for Pre K and if itās a mess we go back the public school starting kindergarten (assuming we could make it the whole year with no drama and private school).
Does anyone (parents or teachers)have experiences with a similar situation ? Low support needs, possible neurodivergent boy in a privet structured academically focused pre school and it being amazing ? Or a disaster ?

My 1918 Luger is not resetting after every shot. Only when I slightly cock it (first picture) does it actually reset. It also slamfired on me once. I tried replacing the side plate lever as the original looked smooth but to no avail. Looking at the sear and firing pin interface it also looks smooth. Am I cooked? Itās all matching from firing pin to grips but am I looking at needing a new sear in order to get this firing again? Also being a police Luger complicates getting a compatible sear. Any help is appreciated.

As the title says, i see my parents once a week and sleep at my old room. For the last month, i have started having false awakenings. Seeing in a dream the room as it is, people (family but then i understand its not them) coming at me trying to smother me, then i wake up but im still in a dream. At the second or third time i understand i am dreaming and i just cannot wake up. Thats when i start screaming but i dont have a voice, or trying to call for my mother or brother, or make noise. When i wake up my heartbeat is crazy and i feel panic. Why did this start ? I am thinking on not sleeping here anymore but this only happens in my room. I slept in my brothers room because i was afraid of it happening and i slept like a baby. I dont know how to feel..
