Every year, my brother and I host a Super Bowl party at my house, and the food situation has been the same for years: just Domino's pizza. Back when he wasn’t making much, I understood—it was affordable and easy. But now that he’s a doctor making $400k a year, I feel like we should step it up, especially since I’m inviting some new friends this year who’ve never been to our party.
I hate parties to begin with, so I only agree to hosting if my brother handles the food. But at this point, I’m getting annoyed that it’s always Domino’s. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to have a variety—like wings, fried chicken, or even pizzas from somewhere else. I get that it’s a gathering, and it’s more about the people, but come on, anyone can order Domino’s.
Am I overthinking this, or is it fair to want more variety and effort in the food? Would it seem cheap to guests if it’s just Domino’s again? What do you guys think?

2025.01.27 04:11 cloverwitch I (F31) think I'm having a crisis of faith.
Sorry if this isn't the right sub, I don't know who to turn to. Everyone I know irl either believes or doesn't, so I already know exactly what kind of answer I'll get from them. I'm hoping that I'll be able to get a wide range of views and advice from across the board.
I've been experimenting with my spirituality and beliefs since I was 16 and have settled largely on animism with a few personal touches. I've been a practicing witch off and on for most of that time, and I also have put faith in manifestation and all that woo. Now I'm questioning all of it and I don't know what to do.
(I know this isn't a manifestation sub, but this incident is where it started) Back in December I had been working through a manifestation course for a few months, and focusing on my manifestations, the biggest one being a coaching program paid in full. I stumbled upon one I really connected with, spent a month researching and detaching and making sure it felt right. I even consulted with my ancestors on this. I had so many synchronicities and everything felt so aligned, so I took a leap, paid in full, and applied for a few grants. The next day, I see the founder had posted a giveaway for the program, paid in full! I was so sure that this was all happening for me. I told friends, family, and put full faith in the universe, so much so that I wasn't even worried it wouldn't happen. And then, everything started crumbling.
Not only did I not win the giveaway, or any of the grants, I had a large client contact me and tell me they had to drop my hours for them drastically (from $1,000/mo to $100/mo) due to internal changes. Then I get news that my landlords are selling the house I live in. Over the next month my moving plans A, B, and C all fall through. My mental health has taken a steep decline and everything is starting to feel like a house of cards crashing all around me. It's hard to trust that all this is happening "for me" or for any reason at all. I feel extremely disconnected and dysregulated and honestly, I miss who I was even just a few months ago.
Am I gaslighting or deluding myself by believing in all this woo? My beliefs have always felt so right for me, even through all of the struggles I've had, even through experimenting and questioning and figuring it all out, even when I fell out of love with certain aspects and rituals, it's still felt right. Nothing feels right anymore, I no longer feel like myself, and I no longer know what I believe.

2025.01.27 04:11 jackaljaw Repair a Samsung Note20 Ultra or switch to an IPhone 12 Mini?
I have been using a Note20U for. A month now. Only a month. And it was given to me where I don't have warranty. The screen has several issues with green clouds and almost like watercolour bleeding / bad pixel retention. A good display means a lot to me as I like to draw. Also, this was not caused by me (I keep my device's display on low + don't spend a ton of time on it).
Now, I love being able to have an SD card and the pen (+ APKs, but we don't need to get into that), but same person who gifted me the phone has an old 12 Mini and has offered to let me switch to that instead. It had no issues and it would be interesting moving back to a smaller phone. However, said phone, being Apple, does not have expandable storage, built in pen, and I'd need to download a couple things onto it.
I don't want to need to spend a ton of money on a new phone in the future, so advice and next steps would be incredibly appreciated!

I’ve been mostly playing world tour this season and I’ve heard all of the complaints about the quick cash changes but haven’t experienced them. This is honestly crazy, I won a game by plugging twice and then even though we had multiple teamwipes no one could steal our cashout. Had a few games where the same thing happened in reverse, there’s just a constant flow of enemies due to the short respawn time and prevalence of lights who zip across the map.

I’ve worked with a client for over 3 years, built a strong relationship. He’s a contractor, sent him a couple jobs.
Last year, he phoned to apologize that he listed with a discount realtor. They didn’t sell.
We were about to list his place and he asked for a term in contract that he could cancel anytime, I pushed back. He also expected lower comission. This was on text. I told him not to worry and this was overcomable. He ghosted me from this point and stopped taking my calls.
He told me that I tried to have them sign something different from what he asked… it’s been a week or two from this.
How would you handle this?
