LAST TIME ON THE PARTY ROLL We came to this Winery looking for help in finding an evil tree. According to our Vistani reading, there should be some holy symbol of good and protection. But when we arrive, we end up instead helping the local were-ravens regain their Winery lands from evil Druids and Blights. It hasn't been easy. First we get ambushed outside and while we do put up a good fight, there is just too many of them so we do what any other rational person would do. WE RUN! Run into a building that is. But the fun doesn't stop there; Inside there are Druids and Blights and it looks like they are tampering with the wine supply. Our party not ones for subtlety, turn things into a Royal Rumble of mayhem. To my surprise, not one single party member dies. Ireena is pretty useless tho. but after the back and forth of battle, we prevail ! When news of this hits Strahd's ears, I don't think he's gunna be happy...

Back to the Story!
So we're standing in a winery, corpses plentiful, twigs, vines oh fun. A couple of vats of wine are on fire and there is wine on the ground.
Nigellius casts mage hand to pat the vat fires out, while Cuspertin casts 'create water' to help. Frawd splashes wine on the fire, cause he thinks it's fine. Don't worry, the wine itself in rancid, so nothing is wasted.
Nigellius wants to explore this place a little more, Frawd, who's a little beaten up wants to take a long rest, amongst the wine. Cuspertin feels the need to turn this quest in and then find a place of rest with the ware-ravens help.
So while Frawd takes a short rest, Nigellius explores and enters what looks like a barrel storage room. Nothing much here, he then heads towards the door to his right, entering a barrel makers room. Again, nothing much here, so for the sake of exploring, Nigellius heads up the staircase in the barrel makers room. Cuspertin goes exploring himself,
"In this chamber are a desk, a chair, a tall wooden cabinet, and a strange contraption that takes up most of the northern end of the room." - DM MarkCuspertin yells for everyone to come see this contraption, to which we all come.
Everyone, roll insight/history to figure out this contraption,
Nigellius ??? Cuspertin ??? Frawd ???
Cuspertin realizes it's a label maker for wine bottles and wants to try it out. Frawd, remembering his rat dagger he got WAY back in ep 6, takes it out to label it. While Cuspertin knows what this contraption is, he might not know how to work it.
Cuspertin, roll Investigation to understand how this thing works 11 Naw, but Yeah, but Naw.
Nigellius places the rat dagger between the roller and the plate.
Nigellius, roll strength NAT 1, -1.....a ZERO
Cuspertin, roll strength 16 a wine label is placed on the rat dagger. The rat dragger is broken, hilt and dagger are separated. THIS IS WHY WE CAN'T HAVE NICE THINGS....
We explore the rest of this place. We find a bedrooms, bunk beds and footlockers with toys in them. One of toys looks vaguely familiar. A black horse with wild eyes and painted flames on the mane, tail and hoofs. It's name is carved into it, 'Beaucephalus", with a Blinksey tag on it.
We explore the kitchen area, nothing there and finally a master bedroom
"This room contains a four-poster bed, its headboard carved in the likeness of a giant raven. A soft black rug covers the floor between the bed and the door. In the corners of the south wall stand two slender wardrobes with a tapestry of a church hanging on the wall between them. Beneath the tapestry sits a handsomely carved rocking cradle. To the north, under a window, is a plain desk and chair. Other furnishings include a wooden chest and a freestanding mirror in a wooden frame." - DM MarkSnooping around the desk, we find what could be manifests for shipments. There are locations written down to the places where the Winery deliveries in abbreviated

Going back to the older entries, some of them have the abbreviated delivery labeled with "S"
Nigellius decides to check the chest against the wall. We find
50 gold pieces 270 electrum and 350 silver pieces.
Nigellius takes only a few electrum, cause who's gunna miss them? Plus we suspect these ware-ravens are poor, yet we still take from them for the trouble.
Cuspertin taps on a wall and a secret room opens up! It's almost like the foundry map shows secret doors!
It leads to the top of the winch room where Nigellius saw before hand. Welp, with the only other place to check, we head to the basement,
"Thick moss covers the walls of this underground staircase. At the foot of the steps is a landing with an arched wooden door set into the north wall.""Wooden pillars and beams support the ten-foot-high ceiling of this ice-cold cellar, which is split in two by a five-foot-thick brick wall. A thin mist covers the floor. Each half of the cellar features an eight-foot tall wooden partition that doubles as a wine rack. The western rack stands empty, but the eastern one is half filled with wine bottles." - DM Mark
There seems to be a secret door that's already been open. We approach and find it to be a dark tunnel stretches for fifteen feet, ending at an archway beyond which lies a shallow cave. While investigating, Frawd here's a light puff and finds breathing difficult. It's too dark to see what's going on in there.
Frawd, roll constitution saving throw 7, Fail 37 dmg and just like that, Frawd is down to 1 hit point. (LMAO THE SHORT REST SAVED HIS LIFE!!!!) Frawd inhales some mold.
Enough fucking around, we head back upstairs to Ireena who see's a disheveled Frawd sounding like ol Hans Moleman. We investigate the dead Druids for good measure and realize that one of the staffs from a Druid looks different from the rest. Nigellius picks it up and feels a slight tingling when touched.
It's a magic staff; on a charged hit, can pull health from the target. It can also inflict 'madness' on a target. Nigellius takes hold of it and we all head outside to talk to the rightful owners of this Winery. A small building sets before Nigellius' eyes when he breaks for it outside. It's an outhouse. Good one. There's a well, but beyond a field, that's it.
We call upon the folks of this place and they slowly appear.
Davian speaks up and thanks us for our help. We ask about that cave that almost killed Frawd. Turns out, its been boarded up for that reason. It's mold alright. Without much small talk, Nigellius softly demand payment all they just did. Davian claims he has money for us or 6 good barrels of wine. Nigellius haggles for a lifetime supply of wine in form of a coupon.
Davian breaks into a lore dump
Turns out, the Druids have been harassing the Winery for weeks. Only recently has Davian realized that the Druids were after the "gems." It is very hard to grow things in Barovia, but Davian hold a gem, which when used, created a bountiful return in farming. For that, they use these gems to make booze. But ten years ago a gem was stolen and we came to the conclusion that the Druids would want it for themselves. Since fighting off these attacks, the Winery has lost all of the gems and the very last production of wine, might very well be in those 6 casks.
Nigellius ponders that if we could find the remaining Druids, maybe we can find the gems they took. Davian suspects that based on the attacks coming from the southwest, the Druids must be laid up somewhere around a place called, 'Yester Hill'.
Speaking for everyone, Nigellius takes on the side quest, which he created mind you, on heading to Yester Hill, to find the Druids who may have the gems this Winery needs to keep open.
Davian asks the Party to stay and rest up, esp cause Frawd looks like a sack of shit. We accept.
HAS THIS BECOME A CRUSADE AGAINST DRUIDS?!

2025.01.27 05:24 Echopine Stopping eating after 5pm makes me feel so much better the next day
I have a myriad of serious health problems that make my life a living hell most of the time. One of them is a sleep breathing disorder that’s haunted me for over a decade.
Recently I stopped eating after 5pm as I’ve developed gerd that’s aggravating nerve damage in my upper airway.
While I still feel like utter shit, it’s taken the edge off somehow. I feel a lot calmer in the morning and my body doesn’t feel like it’s on fire. Usually I wake up in agony, excruciatingly tired and freezing cold, despite living in a warm climate.
It’s been an absolute godsend. I wonder if anyone else has any similar experiences? I’ve always thought the ‘don’t eat before bed’ thing was a myth but my body absolutely says otherwise.

2025.01.27 05:24 grt7000 Pc won't Boot
So I recently bought all the parts for my new pc and assembled it all together with no issues, pc booted perfectly fine and I had no problems at all. About 2 weeks ago I got my hands on an elgato hd60 and decided to install it into my pc so I can stream games from my gaming console, but that's where the issues began, black screens out of nowhere which could only go away if I turned my pc off from the switch at the back. I didn't know what caused that issue so I decided to take the elgato out again and everything was working fine until today when I got another black screen whilst playing. This time restarting my pc didn't fix the issue and I can't no longer boot my pc. When I press the turn on button the pc turns on but I have no display what so ever and a red light on my motherboard the gigabyte b650 eagle ax. I don't know what to do anymore I'm desperate for help 😭
