2025.01.29 02:50 Notworthreading Is Customer Service just Bots now?
Ok so my V15 screen has broken, vacuum still functions but I can't change into 'boost' mode and view particles. Not a big deal (I'm out of warranty period), but the price for a new main body isn't bad so I've been looking to buy a replacement.
Went on the Canadian website around Feb 2024 and of course its out of stock. Waited a few months and used the chat tool to confirm they're out of stock and to get notified when its available again. Checked in a couple times and nothing but a discount offer on a new machine.
Now I'm getting a bit fed up and emailing their support line, asking to register a complaint. I can't help but notice quite a bit of repetition in their emails, despite being 'written' by different employees. Formatting of emails seem too close and I'm beginning to suspect the responses are just cut and paste and/or bot responses. Does anybody have insight on this or knows how to discuss issues with an actual employee?

Hello :) I’m new to Japanese brushes. I am interested in the new Wayne goss collectors edition (which has squirrel, goat, and 1 with synthetic).
And also interested in the Koyudo 2024 holiday brush set. Says made with horse and goat, and 1 is synthetic.
I’ve been reading both brush subreddits, trying to understand care instructions and what to pick. Do goat, squirrel and horse products only work with powder products? Can I use liquid? Or is liquid only for synthetic brushes?

I'm currently working a 100% WFH job with great pay and benefits from Washington state, in the USA.
Recently an opportunity came up and they are offering me the chance to transfer to our UK office on a skilled worker visa. This visa would eventually lead to permanent residency so I could stay in the UK permanently. I'll take a pay cut, but I'll still be paid well compared against UK standards.
For all intents and purposes I'll be working the same job with the same people, with similar pay and benefits.
The only major difference is that I will likely need to go into the office 3-5 days a week. I don't have the specifics on how many days I will need to go into the office yet, but it's a big change for me since I've been 100% WFH for 5 years now.
I've wanted to live in Europe for awhile because I hate driving and like to live car free which is much easier in Europe. But I'm terrified of going back into the office. I always hated working in an office before Covid and I love being WFH 100% of the time.
It feels stupid to give up living in the UK because I'm scared to go back into the office, but I wanted to get someone else's opinion.
TLDR: Would you give up a 100% WFH job to live in the UK/Europe (with a chance to stat there permanently)?

2025.01.29 02:50 El-PG AITAH for not preparing my breastfeeding wife with food for a day at the hospital
Backstory is our eldest 3m cut his finger and needed a couple stitches. We were poorly managed between hospitals and the day before I had already taken half a day off for the stitches but turns out there was miscommunication between medical facilities and the surgery was the next day and we spent 4 hours at the hospital for someone to take a 30 second glance at the cut and tell us the surgery would be the next day.
We discuss what is needed and decide that we all go in as a family. I go in with him to prep for the stitches as they are using anaesthetic and support him and keep him comfortable as he goes under anaesthetic. My wife will be there taking care of the 8 month old. Once eldest is in surgery (a 5 minute actual operation) and everything seems fine I go home and work from home what I can of the day.
On the day we have a brief which basically explains the day including preparing us to be possibly there all day (Mostly in post op in a kids section where they want to make sure he is ok). As planned I go in with eldest and everything goes fine. I am with him as long as I am allowed to and then go see my wife and see what support she needs. We decide we need nappies(diapers) for the 8 month old and my wife also says she is hungry and I suggests snack 1 which my wife agrees to. My wife says she wants to wait where she is so I take the 8 month old and walk to the pharmacy to get nappies and grab 2 snacks from a cafe, something she normally likes and what she asked for so we can share. We share the food with her getting a bit more than half (so more food than what she asked for). She is happy with the food and commented on one item being really good.
I check that she is ok with everything and sees if she wants any extra support from me. I remind her that there is a cafe down one level with plenty of food as well as a cafe on a balcony that she can see and can walk to in 15 seconds if she gets hungry. I joke that she will probably spend $100 on food because of how hungry she is while breastfeeding. She is happy for me to go and I head home to catch up on work from the time I have had off.
~I get good updates on progress and then 1.5 hours after I leave the hospital I start getting messages indicating that I was selfish for eating half the food brought for us to eat.
Text messages ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Her: Pretty wild you bought me food are half of it. Then I'm stuck here all day pretty well
Me: I bought 2 servings so you had a serving of food
Her: Try to think of other people more if you can I don't know if I can really leave eldest here on his own to go eat
Me: And it is only 10am and you are already worried about food!
Her: And you will be home all day able to eat whatever you like Yes I'm breastfeeding Lasting until 2 I'm just saying try and be more considerate
Me: Happy to swap roles and you go back to work
Her: Omg are you serious Look never mind I shouldn't say anything and you call me defensive
Me: Have you asked the nurses what they recommend or just jumped to criticising me? If you wanted more food ask me to get more food or you should have gone yourself, it was literally down the stairs from where you were. You can be self sufficient sometimes.
Her: I can't leave eldest on his own
Me: I understand you hadn't planned ahead but blaming me for you not planning is shit.
Her: But never mind I shouldn't of said anything I didn't anticipate you would become aggressive towards me. None of us knew it would take this long.So telling me I'm planning poorly is shit
Me: They literally told you to be prepared for him being there all day
Her: Yeh and I asked you to get food for me and you ate half of it
Me: I got food for both of us and you got more than half. If it was a problem ask me to grab more or get it yourself when you had it available. Why blame me?
Her: Honestly the fact that you can't say ahh yeh shit I didn't think about that and go into defensive mode Is worrying. Too concerned about being right all the time as opposed to your partner.
Me: Read your messages if you want to see why people get defensive
Her: Yeah because my initial message was so aggressive
Me: I literally went out to get nappies and food for you to make it easy on you. I left you with food that had you satisfied at the time and reminded you that the cafe was one level below down a flight of stairs or a lift that you were sitting 5 metres from. Then you message me telling me I'm selfish for not preparing you. Do you not see why I can't take responsibility for not preparing you? Have you actually asked a nurse what they recommend?
Her: So your continuesly telling me how hungry I am which is why I found it weird you did that. I make one comment which you turn into world war 3. But it's fine I don't feel hungry I actually feel sick to my stomach reading your messages to put me off food for the rest of the day
Me: Please stop. Let me know any updates for eldest
Her: Hope being aggressive towards me made you feel good and was worth it. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So was I over reacting or acting aggressively? For context I was the one to bring him to the hospital initially with the cut and stayed with him for 4-5 hours while waiting and supporting him, then go back the next day for 4 hours holding him and calming him while they tried to put a cannula in him (failing anyway and deciding to go oral antibiotics). These were both stressful situations that she would have hated to be in. I had done a lot more to looking after him in these circumstances than she had as she is the only one that can look after the 8 month old baby as he is breast feeding regularly. This was fine with me but I feel attacked when she suggests I wasn't doing enough to support when she had every opportunity to ask me to get more food while I am there, feed herself or talk with a nurse to see what can be done.
Because it is relevant to my text message about swapping roles; I am the main income with her being on longer maternity leave and working part time since first having kids. My job has a fair bit of pressure and pay reflecting that keeping finances ok with her working part time and extended maternity leave to focus on being good parents. This was her choice and I've supported her on it.

I was watching Futurama and I noticed that there’s so many worlds and so many different species and things like that and the way they go about it is similar to Rick and Morty. For example, I’m only in the beginning of Futurama, but the Charlie and the chocolate factory one with the slurm really gave Rick and Morty vibes. I would even say the sardine episode reminded me a lot of Rick and Morty.

This is my first binge through of S19 (I’ve never watched Grey’s but i’m familiar with the show) and I’m currently on season 5. This is gonna be a little lengthy but this has been on my spirit for a bit lmao.
I wanna preface this with acknowledging that Robert is indeed ruthless and there are valid reasons to be upset at him. HOWEVER! I don’t think he was wrong for what he said to the Big Boss.
Maya did indeed break some many protocols that she was gonna get demoted regardless. She ignored a direct order for her superior in a situation where it would have been BIG trouble if the patient had died. While I’m proud of her for thinking of the people & what’s right, she had to have known this was the result. It was not going to give Suspension without Pay lol. They couldn’t WAIT to be “proven right” about women being in spaces of power—which is why I know they wouldn’t have given the station to Andy.
Robert was Captain AND Battalion Chief. He has questionable ways on providing his wisdom, but he knew exactly what was gonna go down. We’ve seen so much character development from him, he would never betray 19 again. Him throwing himself towards the position—while ruthless and a lil grimy—was not him trying to take Maya’s job. Hell, do we not remember how she approached him, telling him how she’s the best choice for Captain? I believe he genuinely was trying to save 19 from an unfamiliar Captain and the family going to different houses.
Was he desperate to be in a position of power again? Absolutely. He still has a lot of humbling to face, but why would he undermine the people he sees as family?
I believe Andy is more pissed that she got transferred AND wasn’t in the running for Captain again, the “MY Firehouse” as if the firehouse wasn’t Sullivan’s too for some time. We know Robert can be ruthless, we would have seen it if he REALLY was gunning for her job. He respects the team he works with, and knew that a familiar captain would have been best. BUT I also know he wouldn’t have gotten it solely because he was fresh into being reinstated.
The fact that Maya was demoted is shitty, but throwing all the blame at him like EVERYONE didn’t know that there would be consequences for her decision. I think they didn’t fully trust him again after the PRT theft and just assumed he was being super grimy because he was super selfish before—but he would have never done that to the team, let alone his WIFE.
I know I’m rambling on, but I just really disliked the fact that they all ganged up on in anger, completely forgetting his growth and never hearing him out. He’s trying to restore his honor and regain respect, while achieving the goal of climbing up the ladder again. Andy just figured that because he was thinking of undermining Miller’s lawsuit that he was gonna just not give a shit about Maya, when he understood that it’s bigger than him.
but lemme hush and keep on watching. I’ll probably be back to rant about how frustrating of a character Andy is because there is NO WAY you serve that man DIVORCE PAPERS and FCK HIS CAPTAIN within 24 hrs of each other while REFUSING TO TALK TO HIM FOR TEN MONTHS OVER A PROMOTION YOU WEREN’T GONNA GET!!! 😂😂😂

The charging cable for the gamepad won't charge so I have to buy a new one. I see a lot of options from third parties online however I keep reading a lot of negative reviews. Do you guys have any recommendations on products you've used?
(p.s: found out my local walmart got rid of every Wii U product they had, not by throwing them away, but by crushing them on a compactor. They weren't selling and had to make room for other inventory. I hate corporations.)
