2025.01.30 06:50 fankuss About to graduate with MSW but thinking it may be a bad fit.
I honestly love social work, I love the concepts and theories, I’m a humanitarian and love advocacy work.
The problem is I recently relapsed on substances, and I feel like a complete hypocrite trying to do social work and then going straight home and getting high. I’m honestly considering quitting my current social services job and going to work for Safeway. I’m currently working with kids so it feels especially dirty.
I’ve tried quitting countless times. I even went to rehab a couple months ago. I just can’t seem to get clean again, I’m doing all the things that are suggested for recovery - outpatient, meetings, community, service work, 12 steps, meditation. I’ve tried quitting and that’s not working so I think I need to look at other options.
I have five months until I graduate and I really am not willing to find another job with my degree if I’m still using by then. Quitting is still the goal but I need a backup plan if I can’t achieve that. What kinds of jobs do functional drug addicts have? Where is it ethical to work?

i’m currently interning at an events venue with my friend, and lately, i’ve been feeling really disregarded and invisible. the employees always approach her when there’s a task to do or even just to make conversation, while i’m just… there, like i don’t exist. what makes it worse is that they even greet her but not me it feels so intentional, and i can’t understand why.
i’m naturally shy and quiet, so i just focus on my assigned work, which is designing social media posts im just in my little corner in the office. unlike my friend, i don’t insist on doing other things like giving venue tours because i’m not confident in speaking, and honestly, it’s just not something i’m comfortable with. but because i don’t volunteer for those tasks, i feel like they see me as someone who’s doing nothing
what makes it even more frustrating is that the designs i create are actually decent like they stay up to date with trends, and i put real effort into them. but they never use them. they’ll thank me for making them, but in the end, they just create their own designs instead ones that honestly look imbalanced and unpolished and post those instead. it makes me question what the point of my work even is. why ask me to do something if they’re just going to ignore it?
on top of that, i really hate small talk. i don’t enjoy forcing conversations or filling the silence just for the sake of it, and i feel like that makes me even more invisible in this kind of environment. it’s exhausting watching my friend easily fit in while i struggle to even be acknowledged
i just don’t get it, why do shy and quiet people always get disregarded? just because i’m not loud or constantly engaging with everyone doesn’t mean i’m not there. it sucks feeling like i’m being ignored on purpose, and i don’t know what to do about it

Chapter 1138 Theory
Interpreting the Harley Book in the Chapter 1138
This is my first personal theory post, so I wanted to give it a shot. I think I figured out some pieces of the prophecy held in the Harley book.
First, here is the “prophecy” as said on the spoilers:
[The First World]
On Earth, there is flame.
Mankind, overtaken by desire, touched upon the forbidden Sun.
The Enslaved prayed.
“The Sun God" appeared.
The deity of Earth is enraged.
Together with the Serpent of Hell Flame, they enguifed the world with death and darkness.
They can't be met again.
[The Second World]
In emptiness, there is breath.
The deity of Forest dispatched demons.
The Sun did nothing but spread seeds of war.
The people of the half Moon saw a dream.
The people of the Moon saw a dream.
Men became gods after slaying the Sun.
The deity of the Sea rampaged.
They can't be met again.
[The Third World]
In chaos, there is void.
The troubled shadow remembers
The promised day
And listens to the sound of the fragmented Moon
“The Sun God” dances and laughs
Leading the world to its end
The Sun will return
And so comes a new morning
They will meet again
First, the “World” thing. I believe that each world refers to a measurement of time. Like how in Lord of the Rings where the history is separated into different ages, One Piece is set in different “worlds”.
“On Earth there is flame” I believe that this refers to the Mother Flame. Essentially, I t to think that the Mother Flame that Vegapunk made has actually existed in the OP world since the beginning, and perhaps he found some or accidentally created a technology that has been lost to time.
“Mankind overtaken by desire touched the forbidden Sun.” I think this is the first inkling of Nika, a god that it not allowed to be contacted..
“The Enslaved Prayed.” I think this is the humans of the world, enslaved by the Earth Deity.
“The Sun God Appeared”. I think that this is Nika. The first Sun God, the one who does not yet have a fruit, but his will would eventually be inherited by the other Gomu users.
“The deity of Earth is enraged” this is the Earth God, angry that the enslaved people would dare to manifest Nika.
“Together with the serpent of hellflame they engulfed the world with death and darkness.” This is presumably the serpent attacking a city as described in the mural that is in the chapter 1138 spoilers.
“They can’t be met again” I believe I know what “they” is referring to, but I will save that for last.
2nd World:
“In emptiness there is breath” This is the remnants of the humanity that was destroyed by the Earth deity and the serpent.
“The deity of forests dispatched demons” I believe there is two ways to see this (I do not read Japanese so someone might correct me). 1. The deity of forests “dispatched” (defeated) demons or 2. “dispatched (sent out) demons. Each means something different, but I want to lean to option 2. Here, I think “demon” does not mean devils or such, but rather, devil fruits, and the deity of forests created the devil fruits in the 2nd world.
“The Sun did nothing but spread seeds of war” I do not think this is saying there was an evil fake sun god. I think this IS Joy boy, whose freedom and inherited will and actions as the first pirate led to war against the world.
“The people of the half moon saw a dream”. The members of the D clan (half moon) saw a dream in Joy Boy. Perhaps this means that his crew really was filled with the original D clan members alongside Zunesha and Emeth, and the Dream part means that maybe the D clan also experienced the same thing that the Straw Hats did with Luffy and Oden and WB did with Roger, the “secret dream” that we still don’t know about.
“The people of the moon saw a dream” I think this means that Joy Boy and his crew went to the moon at some point.
“Men became gods after slaying the Sun.” This I think is the death of Joy Boy, and the people who killed him declared themselves “gods” (the Celestial Dragons).
“The Deity of the Sea rampaged” this is Neptune. And the “rampage” is the flooding of the world that Vegapunk talked about.
“They can’t be met again” will talk about it later.
3rd World.
“In chaos there is void.” In the chaos left by Joy Boy came the Void Century.
“The troubled shadow remembers” (this can be Imu Sama or Black Beard) and I believe this is Blackbeard. He “remembered” something when he found the darkness fruit.
“The promised day” so the shadow has a promised day he forgot. If the shadow is Imu Sama, perhaps the promised day is the marriage to Nefertari D. Lili. If it’s Blackbeard, maybe the promised day has to do with the fruit and his inherited will.
“And listens to the sound of the fragmented moon”. If Luffy is the sun, Blackbeard is the moon. The “fragmented moon” might be pointing to the fractured personalities that Blackbeard has.
“The Sun God dances and laughs” the awakening of Luffy.
“Leading the world to its end” Luffy is not destroying the world. I think the world here is as I talked about at the start, each “world” is a period of time. Luffy will lead to the end of the 3rd world or the 3rd “age” of history.
“And so comes a new morning” Luffy’s new world. The 4th World, a new age. The world that Roger was too early to see.
“They will meet again.” Finally. I wanna talk about “they”. I think the “they” is not an entity, but the oceans. The first world ends with the oceans not being able to meet again, meaning the formation of the Red Line. The second age is where Joy Boy failed his promise to the Merfolk, and he was not able to break the Red Line, so the oceans still can’t meet. Luffy will bring about the new world by destroying the red line, and the seas will finally meet again.
Summary:
1st World-Nika: humans enslaved by the earth god, Nika appears, the world is cast into ruin, the oceans are separated.
2nd World-Joy Boy: civilization revives itself, devil fruits appear, Joy Boy causes chaos as the first pirate, he fails the promise to the merfolk, Joy Boy is killed, the Celestial Dragons go to Mary Geoise and become gods, the world is flooded, the oceans are still separated.
3rd World-Luffy: From the chaos of the 2nd world comes the void century, Blackbeard awakens, Luffy awakens, he will destroy the red line and begin a new world, the oceans meet again at last.
And the spoilers talk about an ark with a king leading multiple races against a fire breathing demon, saying the King might be JoyBoy. I disagree. I think Luffy will do what JoyBoy couldn’t, unite the peoples, and defeat the demon (Imu Sama).

India shud develop more concert venues and increase spending so that local economies will also b benefitted. I'm sure concerned authorities will b thinking of how to milk this cash cow. Karnataka CM feels ppl have more disposable income now. The point is coz of some ppl having good income and flaunting their wealth, shud others who r striving to make both ends meet pay addl taxes etc. and carry additional financial burden.
