I recently moved to the U.S. and I don’t have an SSN or ITIN yet but I’d like to start building my credit. I checked with major banks like Chase and Wells Fargo but they all seem to require an SSN.
Are there any good credit card options for new immigrants or international students without an SSN? I’ve heard that some banks allow you to apply with a passport or a foreign credit history does anyone have experience with this? Also is it worth getting a secured credit card while waiting for an ITIN?
Would really appreciate any advice on the best way to start my credit journey here. Thanks!

2025.01.30 08:01 anb_777 Question about selling an unopened insulin pump / complicated situation

Hi, so basically I have an extra tandem t slim pump and am wanting to sell it but the most I saw online that will give you is $500 but I paid about $1000.
For context: Basically I started using this one awful supplies provider, US MED ! I bought the t slim x2 pump AND supplies for around $1500 but they only sent the supplies so I kept calling (I kid you not the employees would literally hang up on me…) and finally when I got ahold of someone, they told me they don’t even sell the pump ??? and that I had to buy it elsewhere. Tbh I was confused and trusted them so I believed this information because why would they give me wrong information?
So then I had to pay $1000 (out of the full $4000 price I believe) for the actual pump from another company, edgepark (which has been good). Everything’s fine then a few weeks later, after I’m already using this new pump, I get a package from US Med with a new pump in it ?
So essentially they gave me wrong information because they did actually sell the pump, and they completely billed it to my insurance.
This means I have a pump I paid $1000 for that I’m using and a free unopened pump. I was hoping to send back the unopened one to get some money back but I CANT BECAUSE IT WAS PRETTY MUCH FREE 🧐 like that’d just be so wasteful of money to me. I tried getting a return through tandem and they gave me hope but then they said it just had to be through the company I got it from:/
Anyway, I’m intending to sell the pump for at least $1000, maybe a little more would be good since I’ve had so many freaking issues with all this stuff for MONTHS ! Also don’t get me wrong I’m very grateful to have my medical supplies but I am a uni student and my grandpa helps pay for my medical supplies, so it was really a lot of his money that was wasted and I hope to reimburse him.
The ISSUE I am having with selling the pump: I can’t sell it on FB marketplace because it’s medical equipment (I tried and they flagged it), I also tried looking at companies that buy supplies but the most I saw for was $500… and for a $4000 pump that’s kind of insane to me.
Where can I sell this ?? Or does anyone have any better solutions? Am I allowed to sell it on ebay?

when i was 14, i met someone via chat forums. he was 25. we were together for 2 years and he was my entire world. i dont really have friends and my family doesnt understand me. im very private about my depression with everyone but him. i know what everyone will say, that he had sinister intentions and that i was groomed, but he really made me feel heard. genuinely. he was the only one who knew and he helped. i felt better. i tried to kill mysrlf twice during mine and his relationship, i spoke about it with me and he never got mad at me how others did. he showed me so much love and i felt like i was so loud with him. i cant hear my voice with anyone else. even if i was being loud with the pain he caused, with the toxicity in my heart, i was still heard. i miss it. i miss him and i cant let go. boys my age will never understand me how he did and i have no one to talk to about the things we used to talk to. i feel mentally unstimulated im so lost. how do i get over this im so losthes not a monster and hes gone forever now. i have no contact with him. he stopped saying i love you and blocked me. i begged him to stay. how can i stop thinking of him.
