Hi there, my 14 year old cat has had hyperthyroidism for approx 2 years that is managed with methimazol (she is unfortunately not a candidate for iodine treatment)
During the past few days she has been having extreme excessive thirst - like as soon as she has had a drink she walks away then comes straight back for more, almost like she has forgotten she has drunk.
She has also developed diarrhoea today and I have noticed she has become wobbly on her back legs.
I have an appointment booked for the vet on Wednesday but I’m going to try and change that for the next available.
Does this sound like she has perhaps developed diabetes? Is this common in cats also with thyroid issues?
I would love some advice as she means the world to me and I need to be prepared for what might come.

Recirculation vs fresh air Tldr: is it worth having a function for the heater to draw in fresh air instead of recirculating?
In the process of building a log cabin for a buddy and planning on using a diesel heater for it. We see in Ireland so the main concern is more damp then cold. My concern is that if it was damp and he came in with wet jackets etc, the place would be like a sauna with the humid air being recirculated over and over.
My potential solution is to fit a diverter valve like this on the inside of the cabin, so the air intake for the heater can be swapped between recirculating and fresh air (will require an additional hole in the wall to bring a fresh air duct to the valve). This will allow fresh low humidity air to be warmed and pumped into the cabin, with the warm damp air being pushed out gaps around the cabin.
Is there anything I'm missing or a reason why this wouldn't work?

Hey guys. I've just bought this laptop from JB Hifi:
Lenovo Legion 5 16" WQXGA 165Hz Gaming Laptop (Intel Core i9)[GeForce - JB Hi-Fi
It replaced my Asus ROG Strix G15 that had half the ram, half the video ram, and a 3050ti.
This has some major issues that I'm seeing even as I type this. It's hanging constantly. As I type right now it'll pause as I type then the letters continue quickly to catch up to where I'm typing. If I open a PDF, even if its been open for 5 mins so it's fully loaded, trying to scroll will see the laptop pause before eventually figuring out what the scrollwheel does.
Even just before I had Outlook open, one tab for email one for my calendar. When I closed the calendar, it seemed like it took like a few frames to close down. By that I mean after a moment it was semi-transparent, then mostly transparent, then gone. It didn't just vanish in one go when you'd normally click on the close button.
When I opened Reddit just now, even just trying to scroll reddit took a few seconds. I didn't notice this when I first got it a few days ago but now it's doing my head in. I need this laptop for work, it needs to be quick, the constant hesitation every 5-10 seconds no matter what the task is wasn't an issue on my previous 2021 model laptop. This is my first ever Nvidia cpu computer, maybe that's the issue?
Any ideas? Is this a lemon?
