Iāve absolutely loved it and honestly get kind of irritated when I have to hold my hoop myself because I much prefer two hand stitching. I weighed it down with my husbandās poker chip case with two ten pound dumbbells on top of it. A few months ago, it started wobbling, but it wasnāt the screw in the bottom, it was two machined together pieces that had developed a gap. I tried everything I could think of to fix it, and then finally ended up just zip tying it to the leg of a table to stabilize it and calling it a day. Well, we recently got a new couch, and not only does the table not fit anymore, but itās a recliner so instead of the weight being on ālegsā on the edges of the sofa, and thereās no room for my poker chip/dumbbell rig because the mechanism for the recliner takes up all that space. I had a wild idea and today took my stand with me up the road to the welding shop I drive by all the time. The guy dropped what he was doing and waved me in to help me - I figured stopping by and explaining in person would be faster than a phone call - asked me a couple questions and then said, āyou gonna paint it, after? Itās not gonna be prettyā š¤£ I told him it was just for me, and it goes under the couch so no one will see it. He zapped my stand up in a jiffy! I was asking him how much I owed him when the shop owner came in. I told him how helpful his employee had been and then asked him one more question - āDo you have maybe a longish piece of metal you could punch a hole in, so I could fit it over my stand and use it for leverage against my couch?ā He said, āIāll do you one betterā and literally just welded another piece of metal to the end of the stand. I just set it up and it works a charm! I canāt wait to get stitching this evening. Itās been since July that weāve been moving, my stands been broken and Iāve only been able to do one in-hand project while we traveled for a family emergency š®āšØ Iām sure you all understand, stitching is like meditation for me and it seriously helps my mental health to even do just a little bit every day. He wouldnāt even let me pay them! I should go leave them a Google review š¤© The arms of the couch are also much wider so Iām still going to have to buy an extra long arm, but Iām way better off than having to buy a whole new stand! If youāve made it this far, thanks for reading! And he was right; it sure aināt pretty but it gets the job done! I did vigorously scrub it with soap and barkeepers friend to get it as clean as I could before taking it onto my carpet. This and the $40 (he asked for $25 and I didnāt have change, plus I was so grateful) I spent on having a local handyman come level my dishwasher have been the best two days of my year so far. I was wondering what everybody's opinion were on random loot vs static loot in The Elder Scrolls?
I've recently completed a Skyrim run and something i've found disappointing were the rewards in some of the game's dungeons. Getting words of power was alright, but opening those huge chests only to get 7 gold, leather gloves and a stamina potion is rather lame. I much prefer having more handcrafted experiences, and randomization of rewards really dilutes what really feels like rewards and what doesnt.
Even entering people's homes and opening locked chest to get randomized loot felt off. I remember in morrowind I would often stumble onto really interesting items that npcs were holding on to. I havent found that in Skyrim. Then again that might just be me misremembering Morrowind.
I know balancing the quality and amount of loot in rpgs is always difficult. You dont want to flood the player with too many items, and you dont want to starve them either. You cant be showering players with hundreds of unique items or that'll also dilute what makes them special. Randomizing loot allows for more replayability, and RNG can be fun when it hits right.
However, after playing some games like Elden Ring, i'm even more convinced that static gear is the way to go for RPGs. Dungeons shouldnt just be handcrafted in their layouts, but also have rewards tailored just for it. And i'm not counting the dragon words.
What do you think? How would a perfect loot system look like for you for TES6?

I have it right in the SW schematic, but in the table it reverts back to (wire no number)_-1_W1. Anyone know where this is controlled?

2025.01.30 21:40 SimplyClueless22 Yes or No to Trackball?
I am designing my first fully custom keyboard and tossing up whether I should have a trackball or not. It would have to be on my right hand, though that means id have to learn to use spacebar with my left hand which would take a bit and of course mapping mouse buttons too. Would the trackball be better than just switching to my mouse when needed or should i just go without the trackball and spend a bit extra trying to do mostly keyboard only? I've never really used a trackball as a standalone tool either except for just "feeling things out" with those logitech mx mice when i see them displayed in stores.

I am trying to play games in dolby atmos on windows 11. I use the dolby access app. Soundbar shows pcm in windows and in games. Soundbar shows atmos only in the dolby atmos demos within the app. I have a lg g4 and a samsung q995d soundbar. Tv says dolby atmos, soundbar pcm. Soundbar should show dolby atmos, right? Something is wrong here.
