2025.01.30 21:51 Novel_Durian_1869 Is a gibbering mouther really CR2?
I'm running a short adventure for my wife and a friend of ours and if they enjoy it, we'll be turning it into a campaign. I'm quite used to running for two people as we don't have many friends locally who play RPGs.
I really want to use a gibbering mouther as a bit of a mini boss but I'm concerned that it'll be too strong. It's a hard encounter for two level 3s, but 5d6 damage, the ability to essentially stun/blind you for a turn, etc. seems like a lot for CR2.
Does anyone have experience running this monster? And if it's too strong, what would be some good or creative ways to balance it? We haven't made characters yet, but it's looking likely we'll have an inquisitive rogue and some flavour of barbarian, so I'll probably already be handing out healing items quite liberally.
I should probably add that our friend doesn't have much DND experience but plays a lot of tactical RPGs, whilst my wife has a fair amount of experience.

Gregor Fulton says he and his team feel a lot of sadness as they work through thousands of dead trees, although they are of course very relieved that nobody was hurt on their estates.
The Tree and Woodland Advisor for the National Trust takes us through the entrance of the visitor centre. Normally a huge, almost century old chestnut tree greets guests, but today it lies on its' side, a victim of the storm.
Dozens of staff and volunteers are working to remove dangerous, hanging branches. They clear them away, chop them, and mulch them as we film in the winter sun.
The Trust is actually unaware of the extent of some of the damage within the 900 acre site, because it simply isn't safe to check some areas yet.
We do know though, that on the other side of Strangford Lough, the National Trust has lost a 200-year-old beech at Castle Ward, while 150 trees cleared in Rowallane have left the gardens there "unrecognisable".
I've reported on the impac the storm has had in health and electricity terms this week, but the devastation caused by the wrath of this unprecedented storm in environmental terms is not one I'd got to explore yet.
Gregor said staff have felt upset by what they have seen.
"The difference to what they know here and what they love here is stark, and there have been tears," he said.
"It is heartbreaking, you know, to see what they have been working so hard on trying to build to make this place more resilient and more friendly for people to come and enjoy, to see so much damage done to what they've been working so hard on over the years."
That hard work continues now in the face of this force majeure.
"We utilising the trees as much as we can," Gregor explains.
"The piles of wood-chip that you can see... we'll be using those for mulch on the flower beds, or using some of it for biomass boilers.
"They will be cutting some of the trees up for firewood, will be using some of the trees for timber as well.
"Importantly, lengths of trees within the woodland where they fallen provide a really rich habitat for the wildlife that's there.
"So they may have lost the living tree, but dead wood is equally as important to them, to woodlands for the wildlife to thrive."
There aren't any visitors during our visit to Mount Stewart, giving us peace to film and fly our drone safely.
However, I'm told that regulars to this estate have been devastated but supportive and that a husband and wife in their 90s who attend every day have committed to come along to visit the day and hour Mount Stewart reopens once again.

I’ve never played any of these games before so maybe I’m missing some important context or something. I just got through the opening mission of Blood Money on PS4 which CLAIMS to be a tutorial, but it doesn’t actually teach you anything? I literally had to google every single “tutorial prompt” it gave me because it just says “do thing” but doesn’t give you any indication of HOW. Apparently I was just supposed to naturally intuit that in order to throw things you click and hold fucking L3??

Hello! I'm thinking about getting a new watch after 3 years with the Coros Vertix. However, my main sport in the last year's have been cycling (outdoor or zwift) rather than running.
I would like to ask you what bike computer do you use with the Amazfit watches.
I have a Garmin Edge 530 as bike computer but I will change it in future as the experience is not so pleasant (no touchscreen, can't customize it trough app, no more updates...). I did not like the Garmin app, seems a bit chaotic and not really user friendly. As the Coros, I found it really good but I don't like their new bike computer (Coros Dura) enough to press the buy bottom. As the reviews od the Trex 3 highlight the really good price/quality ratio (I'm not a marathoner and investing 800€ in a watch from Garmin is a waste for my personal use), I'm thinking about getting it a try in the next months.
I would like to ask also: - does hr broadcast work good (e.g., for zwift) - does the app allow workouts import from strava or other app? For example, I actually sync Zwift with Strava - > download fit file - > import in Coros and it use it for the metrics estimations.

I have a GC to Lowes for set materials and I need to build a couple decks.
I usually go to the builders supply but since it's gift cards to Lowe's specifically I have to go there.
I'm building some 4x8 decks with 3/4 ply tops.
Is this 23/32 sheathing my best best or should I pay more and get BC?
These are just basic 4x8 decks that we are going to use for set stock.
