Last night my best friend texted me and told me to stop telling her what to do. It wasn't even something I realized I was doing, but for weeks she has been telling me she's sick of people telling her what to do and she's just going to go off on anyone who does it. She never went off on me, so I thought i was okay, because again, I didn't even realize I was doing it.
Apparently it all stemmed from me telling her she should clean her car out or that she should clean her room. But the thing is, when I said those, they were in a joking way. I do struggle a lot with my tone when I talk, as I didn't speak for most of my life, so I'm realizing now that it probably didn't sound like a joke to her but instead sounded like a command and now I just feel like a really shitty person. I also thought it was okay because she comments on my room and my car all the time (we live together).
I was at my girlfriends house when a mutual friend told me that the reason she's ranting to me about people telling her what to do is because she wants me to stop telling her what to do. So i texted her to ask if this was the case and this is what she sent me:
Yeah I feel like you tell me what to do a lot and it just bothered me but I didn't wanna tell you because I didn't wanna make you feel bad I should've said it directly it just hurts my feelings when you comment on things like my room and my car and stuff and especially that one time you did it in front of my girlfriend it's just kinda embarrassing like I'm genuinely embarrassed that this is what my life is like rn and I'm tryna get my shit together and it just hurts my feelings when you commented on it and stuff and I should've come out directly and said it but I was too scared to hurt your feelings cuz I didn't wanna make you cry or anything and I've just been going though it and I'm trying really hard and it's harder to do when I got someone on my ass even tho I know you prolly mean well and shit idk I'm just overreacting and being dramatic because the issue lies in me as well with my mood instability and shit too like I shouldn't be so aggressive about this shit
But I'm not tryna have hard feelings and shit and you're still like my favorite person in the world and stuff and I appreciate you so much and I love you and I didn't want this to come between us and I should've prolly just talked to you straight up and idk why I didn't I'm just really embarrassed and I prolly should've tried talking to you about my feelings and not just been all like don't tell me what to do because your very helpful when it comes to talking bout my feelings and shit but smt in me recently just doesn't wanna tell no one shit so I haven't been but I been having a real hard time and I can't keep up with myself and it just got stressful being told that I'm like not clean enough all the time and I'm sure it's not all the time it's just the one time my girlfriend was there and you said smt and she got offended for me and then I got the whole bipolar ego thing and I was like since when did I turn into a little bitch and idk all I know is I got some shit to talk out that is irrelevant to being upset about being told that I'm unclean
For weeks i felt like I was walking on eggshells around her, but i couldn't figure out what the issue was and now that I know i genuinely feel horrible. I ended up having a panic attack while I was with my girlfriend because I could not calm down for whatever reason. I know I'm just being dramatic, and I'm glad she talked to me, but now that I know I'm the problem I just kind of want to remove myself from the equation so I can't hurt her anymore. We talked more this morning and i said i felt awkward and unsure of how to interact with her now, and she said to just act like i normally do. At some point in the conversation she said she was jealous of me because even though im struggling with my mental health, i keep my spaces relatively clean. Im not sure how to feel about that either. Im not exactly sure what I'm seeking advice on but anyone's comments are welcome.

2025.01.30 22:22 Preet1402 Do you think Oda's brilliance comes from "Deus Ex Machina" or is he really a god of storytelling?

I don't see One Piece as just a story for kids but rather an epic told at such a huge scale that no other can ever match up to it. I think someday in the distant future, a religion will be formed out of the stories told in this fictional manga.
But after reading 1138 (no spoilers here) I sort of went into an existential crisis because how can someone plan something so well, planting small seeds along the way and making sure to stick to the main story even after so many years?
Either Oda is a once-in-a millenia human that can genuinely think this far and be able to have such strong self-discipline and focus that he can craft a literary masterpiece with all story telling elements that exist.
Or Oda is a fricking genius when it come to "Deus Ex Machina". He is so good at constantly introducing elements to the story that fit perfectly like the best lego artwork does. And he is able to identify missing pieces from the earliest points of the story and fill them with information that perfectly makes sense in the current storyline!
Doesn't matter which is true because in the end Oda has really gifted humanity with a piece of work that will live for aeons in some shape or form even after everything's gone. One Piece will exist as long as people continue to dream.

We’re aware of the reputation J1ers have but we promise to be respectful visitors and try and contribute to society over there.
We all have jobs lined up making around $18 dollars an hour and will have a few thousand saved up heading over.
