In that one Journal entry from Riley, she mentions not being able to separate her fingers. Kissy Missy can't separate her fingers either, right? They're more like paws. My theroy is, Riley was the kid who was turned into kissy Missy. And just maybe that photo Kissy was looking at in chapter 2 was Riley?
I'm kinda jumping to conclusions. I know. But this is something I highly believe.

Long story, my mother in law(69f) has a rare blood, MDS which has come with their own abnormal not regular symptoms .. and she has very severe chronic pain in her lower back, and neck. While being treated she ended up going through sepsis shock, and had a hospital stay of 2 and a half months went home for 10 days after rehab and the pain csme back with a vengeance. She started getting infections and spontaneous bleeding in her knees which swelled up 3 to 4x.
She ended up having severe sepsis again, and went Into cardiac arrest but they managed to resuscitate her.
She had since had horrid pain in her knees and back, and made the decision she didn't want to keep suffering in agony any longer.
My wife went and saw her yesterday and said she was surprisingly very coherent, asked her how she felt about her decision.
In one end I think all of us are happy she won't be in agony for her final days, but its still very heart breaking.
Right now she's on a dalaudid drip and can have it every hour. But she's not eating but eill take liquids. She had a milkshake today and drinks water. She was on a feedinb for past week until tuntil Tuesday when she made her decision..
With such a potent pain killer, and not eating food whats a realistic outlook on how much longer we have? I wanna make sure my wife and me get to see her several times while she's still aware and able to communicate with us but somedays my wife has a hard time seeinf her mom in the state shes in I think the reality of everythjbg is sinking in for us all and has us a bit depressed.
Thanks for any insight

2025.01.31 02:49 Sro201 Static electricity might have killed my monitor? Help!
I came home today, accidentally left my PC on. I took my coat off and touched the top of my pc case, which sent a static electricity shock into it and instantly disconnected my monitor. I have no idea what to do. I unplugged power cords and plugged them back in. PC seems to turn on, but with monitor plugged it it just says no signal. Monitor is hooked with a displayport, I even tried hooking a tv to it with an hdmi and it also said no signal. Am I screwed? I have no idea how I was supposed to prevent this. I have: AMD Ryzen 5 5600G CPU AMD 6700XT GPU ASRock B550M Steel Legend Motherboard GSkill Ripjaws V Series 3600 DDR4 RAM Intel 660p Series M.2 1TB NVMe 3.0 SSD Cooler Master MasterBox MB311L Micro-ATX Case

I could write novels about my exec and his self-absorption (I'm still new to this community so I'm sure I'll find the opportunity to share) but today was just a whole new level.
So quick backstory, I've been working for this guy's company for nearly six years. I started as strictly an EA but over the years I've filled lots of roles (he especially loves calling me the "corporate secretary" - whatever, dude). But his needs are always increasing and now that he's getting a divorce he's even less able to maintain his personal life, so he made HR hire him a PA as well. Before the PA was hired I was doing a ton of personal stuff for him, and to some degree I still am because he's so bad at drawing lines and directing stuff to where it should go.
The PA is a guy in his late 50s who's been doing assistant work his entire career, so we all thought it would be a good fit. But it's been kind of so-so since he started in September, and for the past month his work has really been slipping. Turns out the PA's brother is rapidly dying of cancer and it's weighing on his mind. Plus his dying brother has been doing a lot of caretaking for their very elderly mother, so the PA is having to step in. It's gotten so that the PA put in his one month notice because he knows he isn't keeping up like he needs to and the personal pressure is too great.
Our boss has been surface-level understanding, but to me and others he's still complaining relentlessly about this guy, saying how much of his (my boss's) time he is constantly wasting by missing things and not focusing on work. But like...the PA knows that and that's why he put in his notice?! And he didn't want to leave us all high and dry, especially me because he knew a lot of these duties would fall on me if he didn't give time to find a replacement he can train.
As for the important stuff the PA is missing? Well that brings me to today.
My boss calls me on my cell (already an annoying move - just Teams me, dude) and is immediately yelling. He says right away it's not about me but he is pissed because there's a serious problem and I need to fix it. I respond, "What's going on?"
Answer: "[PA] scheduled me for a dinner at 7 tomorrow like I asked, and I told him I wanted tickets for the show at the jazz club for immediately after dinner! But I looked at my email and he bought tickets for the show half an hour after my dinner reservation starts! So I pointed this out to him and said it had to be fixed, and now I see this idiot booked me for the 9:30 show but he bought DINNER AND SHOW tickets! Why would I need the DINNER part? I know he's going through a lot but this is UNACCEPTABLE and if he's going to keep fcking up like this I'm about to tell him to just leave tomorrow because all he wants to do is collect a fcking paycheck for a month!"
I managed to defuse the situation by speaking calmly and assuring him it was all fixable, even if I had to do it myself. But holy shit, the only thing that kept me from making a snide comment was remembering that I'm also only here to collect a paycheck. Sadly, if I want to keep doing that, it means stroking this guy's ego at every turn and not pointing out to him what a callous asshole he's being about someone who is about to lose a SIBLING.
Just had to get that off my chest because my husband is sick of hearing these stories and just wants me to quit.

I read a news article regarding a 4 year old boy that passed away in my community today. The police responded to an apartment to a non responsive, malnutrition, dehydrated and abused child who was unresponsive and later pronounced dead at the hospital. He and his 5 year old sister were left in the care of their 54yo grandmother, as well as their 18 & 21 year old aunts this past august. Text messages between the aunts aunts and grandmother included photos of the little boy bound in plastic wrap from his neck to his feet, with a bag over his head, taped to a mattress the last time he was seen alive. They also mentioned putting him in a tub of water while bound as a punishment for sneaking into the kitchen and stealing a banana. The two aunts and grandmother have been arrested. The 5yr girl was also malnourished, abused and neglected.
These types of stories eat at me. I avoid them as much as I can because I truly struggle to cope. This baby hasn’t even started school yet. No one to protect him, and yet he suffered thru unimaginable pain and torment for what? How anyone could hurt a child is beyond comprehension but your own flesh and blood, it defies nature…. And the aunts, just 18 and 21 years old and so fucking cruel FOR WHAT?
Sometimes I just get this overwhelming feeling of not wanting to live in a world where bad things happen to innocent people. I don’t mean to sound suicidal but sometimes it feels that way. It’s hard to believe in anything when senseless tragedies like this happen- there’s no “everything happens for a reason”. No. Shit is just fucked up and we just have to accept it and move on like there’s so meaning behind it all. Sometimes I don’t want to do it anymore. So innocent, so tragic, painful, unimaginable, and for what? Who gained anything from this and every other senseless tragedy like it

I (F 27) was broken up with by my fiance (M 29) today. The breakup was “mutual”. I understand the reasonings and agree that we both need time for self growth and healing prior to being able to pursue our relationship any further.
At the same time, I’m struggling with this because I thought love meant even through the worst of the worst.
I absolutely am in love with him. He says that he wants to be with me, but he feels that he needs to heal because he has nothing left to give me due to prior issues we have faced. The issues at hand involved a lot of anxiety and depression from my end due to life circumstances.
Within the last month I have been taking steps towards self growth and development. He and I both agreed that I’ve been doing a lot better as portrayed through my actions.
I feel very lost, alone, and incredibly sad.
Looking for advice on how I can navigate this as I don’t have many friends or family aside from my mom.

 | Hello everyone! Im switching from PC back to laptop gaming. Was looking for a while and found this Nitro 5 AN517-41-R6SE laptop. It has a Ryzen 5800h, RTX 3080, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD and a 17.3 inch 1080p 144hz screen. I owned an Acer laptop before, an Acer Aspire 3 with a Ryzen 3500u CPU. The laptop was fast and not much complains abut performance but it was running kinda hot (reaching 90-95c). Also the screen was dogsh*t, if you looked at any angle the colors would go away. Even when looking straight at it it looked kinda washed. Before buying this Nitro 5 thats listed for 800€ i wanted to ask if the screen is good or will i have a similar experience with it like on my old Acer Aspire?
