2025.01.31 04:54 Ill_Expert_223 Two month away from the MCAT. I truly need advice.
I started studying for the MCAT back in December during my winter break. I finished content review for Gen Chem, Biochem, and Bio, and did a little bit of Orgo and currently reading the 86-page doc for Psych/Soc. Now that school has started, I’m a full-time student taking three science classes, which has made balancing everything more challenging.
I’m testing in early April, and two weeks ago, I took my first Blueprint FL (#1) and scored a 491. I’m not aiming for an extremely high score since the program I’m applying to doesn’t require it, but I want to break 500 and only take the MCAT once.
I was working through UEarth and currently have 26% completion with 56% accuracy, but I haven’t been consistent with it over the past two weeks. I also feel like I’ve forgotten a lot of my content review and what I learned from UEarth. I didn’t make Anki cards while studying, and at this point, I feel like it’s too late to start. I tried using Anki before, but between classes, labs, and studying, it was taking me 2-3 hours a day, so I eventually stopped.
I don’t want to reschedule my test and really want to make April work. I have two months left and was thinking of starting AAMC since I know it’ll take me longer to get through while juggling school. My plan is to take AAMC FL1 this weekend to see where I stand, but honestly, I feel lost and like I’m failing myself.
How should I move forward from here? How can I make the best use of these next two months? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Went to the gas station. Bought some shit. Approached the counter. Locked eyes with the cashier. Froze. Noticed the cashier was my ex gf. She looked unhappy to see me, but then again, looking unhappy was her thing. After scanning everything I bought, my ex asked if that was all. I pointed at the shelf behind her where all the condoms were stored and asked her to add a box of condoms. Before I could tell her which box of condoms I wanted, she interrupted me and sarcastically said she knew it was definitely not gonna be the magnum sized condoms. I looked over my shoulder to see if anyone was standing behind me and ended up making eye contact with a guy who had a baby strapped to his chest. It was as I feared. The baby daddy overheard the condom comment and stared at me like he was on the verge of saying "bruh."
Back to my ex. She waited for me to face her again before she informed me that the condom brand I liked using was not in stock. I lowered my voice and said I wanted regular sized condoms, any brand. My ex recommended the glow in the dark condoms so that my penis would be easier to find according to her. I asked my ex if she was gonna continue talking shit or do her job. She asked if the condoms were for me or the dildos I enjoyed putting inside my ass. At that moment, the baby daddy suddenly tapped me on the shoulder and encouraged me to apologise for whatever I did to upset the cashier so that we could all pay for our stuff and leave. I explained to the baby daddy that the cashier was my ex gf, who then spoke over me to tell the baby daddy that I apparently knew she worked at the gas station, hence the condoms I just had to include so that I could low key be like "look, bitch, I've moved on."
The baby daddy sighed and advised both my ex and I to save our energy for when we ended up married to someone who believed that going on expensive shopping sprees was "therapy" whereas gaming with the guys was "pathetic." He also made it clear that he was in no mood to listen to our Gen Z drama or whatever because he was gonna have to deal with that shit when his baby daughter eventually stops being a baby. I kind of wished his next words were "speaking of shit and baby, my baby girl pooped her pants." He never actually said that, but it was the perfect opportunity because he closed his speech by mentioning that his baby might have taken a dump in her diaper, which meant he needed to get back home as soon as possible. For the record, I had no idea my ex worked at a gas station, let alone that specific gas station, but alas, that piece of information got buried under the awkward silence that followed when the baby daddy was done talking.
So, yeah, I guess I'm ordering condoms online from now on.
TL:DR Bought condoms at a gas station where my ex gf worked and she basically roasted me for it because she believed I was using the condoms to flex.

I saw the other dental post and have been wanting to share this for while.
I went in for a cleaning and saw ads offering Botox…dentists should NOT be doing Botox. I would never let a dentist perform that on me. The office was entirely empty except for the receptionist and the dentist. There were no other patients which I wanted to interpret positively- no double booking but in hindsight was negative as she doesn’t have enough patients.
Dr. Warden didn’t use a dental hygienist and did my cleaning herself. She called out her receptionist for putting the wrong scraping tool in the kit and when the receptionist offered to get the right one, TURNED HER DOWN and used the wrong scraping tool on me.
Her cleaning hurt more than when I got veneers. Including the part where they shaved down some of my enamel. My teeth were so sensitive, I couldn’t drink water for a week. Not even cold water. Lukewarm water hurt my teeth!
Her husband is a dental device salesman so she sounds knowledgeable about new technology. She just has no idea how to actually do dental work.

Just got curious if anyone else also do that. My native language is French and I speak English fluently. Got on Duo to learn German for funs and I instantly just used English to German instead of French to German. The reason being that I would get errors not because I made a mistake in my understanding of the German language but rather my native French isn’t matching Duo’s European French. It’s can be frustrating at times.
